This video is about Beeswax Wrapped Veggies After One Week and how good they are compared to being stored in plastic.

I have found by putting the avocado pit in as well as the other half of the avocado skin on top before wrapping really helps keep it from turning brown

& always rub cut AVOC. WITH LEMON, LIME, or O.J.!!!! They WILL NEVER TURN BROWN! (BUT, I RARELY HAVE A HALF LEFT, LOL !)....

Hi there! Thank you for the comment! I’m in the UK so measurements are in centimetres. Largest wrap was 35cm x 35cm. Medium 26cm x 26cm, small 17cm x 17cm, extra small 10cm x 10cm. I hope that helps!😊

I'm sure they do the same thing. But I think the beeswax wraps would have more uses than the beeswax bags as you can wrap most things in there. Here is some more information on using wraps: www.milhaan.com/post/beeswax-wraps-faq

Does the beeswax absorb odors? Will the wrap that was used for onions need to be reserved for onions only, in the future?

Hi Jay Tee! Great question! Surprisingly I have found that the wax doesn’t absorb the smell of onions. They can be reused with other foods. If your food is coloured, like beetroot or food with turmeric, the wax will pick up some the colour but it won’t harm the wraps. Hope that helps.

@@MilhaanHome Interesting. Thanks for answering. One thing I remember about the old Tupperware from my childhood, was that it retained odors. If you stored something like spaghetti sauce, and then stored leftover pineapple a few days later....well, it just didn't taste quite right. Now I use glass containers almost exclusively. The wax wraps are intriguing, though.

Jay Tee Yes! I’m very surprised how long my spring onions stay in them. For coriander, as I use it fairly frequently, I remove any yellow leaves and it keeps well. Give them a try😊

What labels did you use and how well do they stick to the beeswax?

Labels don’t stick to the beeswax too well but I just used some printer labels I had. You could secure them with an elastic band.

Since the wraps stick to themselves, why not make a separate reusable label out of plain fabric with a fabric marker and wax it to stick to the wrapped item. A reusable label wouldn't have the date on it though. But still you'd know what is inside the package, such as lemon, lime, avacado, sandwich, cheddar, parm, etc.@@MilhaanHome

Great idea! But you can't use citrus fruits in beeswax wraps as it will ruin the wax.

These Beeswax food wraps were made from 100% cotton material, Beeswax, Organic jojoba oil and Pine Tree Resin.

This is a great question. You could try making a small dot on one and leaving it. Then seeing if you could wipe it off for the next use. I haven't tried it so I'm not sure if this will work.

@Lisa Regehr did you try the whiteboard marker? I was trying to think of another way too…seems backwards to skip the plastic wrap only to have to stick a plastic label on it. Maybe there are compostable labels?

For a quick clean, wipe with a damp cloth using cool water. If you need to give them a good clean, just rinse with cool water and eco-friendly soap if needed. They can be washed and reused for up to a year with proper care.

I bought beeswax wrap, but when I try wrap my food, it was kinda smell like wax, because this is my first time use beeswax, is it no problem if the food smell like beeswax?

They do have a slight smell but it won’t effect the food you wrap. After some use, the smell will be less noticeable.

Once it's cut, I've always kept it in the fridge. Otherwise it goes bad. Uncut Avocado can definitely be kept out!

I left bacon and cheese in my wraps and they really have a strong odor.

Wrapping cheese in beeswax wraps is fine, but not bacon. Generally, meat products are not recommended in the wraps as you can't wash them with hot water.

You're welcome! Don't use them for meat or fish, no citrus, no foods with heavy colours (like beetroot or turmeric otherwise you'll get stains) and no oily or strong smelling foods.

Totally unfair comparison! You didn't properly wrap the items in plastic, because you know they would do equally well. If you don't like using plastic, that's fine, but don't try to be sneaky about how you demo your product because it seems dishonest.

I'm sorry you feel that way Randy. I wrapped the vegetables in plastic exactly how I used to wrap them before I discovered the beeswax wraps. It's an honest review of ANY brand of beeswax wraps, as they are all very similar (I don't sell them anymore but left this video up to help other brands). It's a great alternative to plastic.
