before running my life was just hell - I only eat and sleep with extreme laziness now I run for about 20-30 minutes every day sometime I switch to a simple cardio exercise for 10 minutes a day and my life like heaven, yes I exaggerate but really I enjoy it as much I enjoy drinking coffee

I started running when I was seven years old since then I haven't stopped. Today I am fifty-one years old. I run two to three times a week on the road, woods and mountains. I run seventeen to eighteen kilometers. I totally agree what you said about the benefits. Honestly, I don't run because it's good for my health or to lose weight. I run because I love to run. It was the love of running that allowed me to run until today. Runners, keep running!!

I quit smoking and started running in March 1980, at age 20. Haven't smoked since, and to this day I run three or four times a week, for a total of about 40 kilometers. I never tried a treadmill; I live close to the woods and some lovely trails, and I prefer to be outside, alone.

Last year I covered 1,800. miles in the morning - this morning was a typical 8 1/2 mile (3 hours). I meet an 89 year old and cover over 2 miles with him. You produced an excellent vidio. Yes, the mental help is really a plus. I still enjoy riding my dirt and road motorcycles and water skiing. Running makes this possible. And backpacking into the Wyoming wilderness. Thank you.

Not at all. I’m in my 60s and I started 2 years ago after over 20 years off. My biggest fear was being embarrassed at how pitiful I would look. I just went. I committed to 5 days a week minimum regardless of weather or how I felt. I’ve come to enjoy the bad weather (snow, rain, sub zero temperatures) because I feel like I overcame a bigger obstacle. Just commit. Start slow. The first week or 2 you may be really sore, but before you know it, you’ll be doing fine. Just keep at it. Don’t allow yourself any excuses. Best of luck to you!!! Oh. Make sure you have good shoes. I started with shoes that had very little padding and started having severe foot pain. Got better shoes. Problem solved.

Just do it! When I started running 5 years ago, I could not do it for more than 2 Kilometers but just by being consistent, I gradually improved and last year I completed half-marathon. I am aiming to complete full marathon this year. It's all about the mindset, anyone can do just be regular and keep pushing! I love to run outside but the weather in Canada isn't quite favorable, so tredmill to the rescue! I have had runner's knee and I learnt, it's a good idea to mix exercises (biking is just as amazing and does not have a huge impact on your knees). Oh, did I mention, I used to weigh 90 Kgs and had depression. Now I am 70, with better muscles :) Happy running folks! I am going to run outside right now!

Hi! I am 52 and just started running. I been doing it for four weeks now and love it! I only do intervals though for now.. like expample I can jog 12 minutes straight then a fast walk for 2 minutes then go back to 12 minutes. And so forth mostly for 30 or 45 minutes. I do the workouts in ibex here on YT and also a YT channel called tread chic. I am trying to keep going till I can do it with no injuries. My question to u is, do u jog everyday? Or should I skip a day and do it every other day? I do that now and on days between I try to lift weights. I am trying to lose weight so I can continue to jog. But I do notice if I run to many times a week I start to feel strange in my feet or knee or hip. I am wanting to know if I still feel good the very next day should I go ahead and run again? Or just go on to weight lift to be safe? I am working up to jogging for the entire time one day. And be able to jog more times a week. It feels awesome when I am done. Just once in a while the next day I may feel something that o get scared so I back off some. Lol thanks! I just like to hear from others

I retired at 61 six years ago. I have always been active but sitting behind a desk 41 years meant my fitness levels were poor I had no stamina. 11 years ago I ran a half marathon in a time of 2hours 25mins (having to walk at mile 12) Last September I ran another half marathon in 2hours 2minutes (no walking or stopping). My endurance levels have improved as I’ve grown older. I now run 5k park runs (personal best 23.39) I row on coastal waters (once a week) which I find complements the running. Finally I encourage everyone no matter what age, size or gender to get some form of exercise. It is what we are all meant to do.

I was overweight my whole life. At 23 I was close to 300 lbs. In January 2021 I discovered the magic of eating in a calorie deficit and getting in weight training with moderate cardio. At the time I was not running, but walking on the treadmill with a good incline and doing the elliptical. Nine months later and over 100 pounds down, I was on the treadmill one day walking and I felt the need to go faster. I wanted to feel the bounce of a jog, but I was scared. I got a Nike Apple Watch with Nike Run Club and it changed my life. For the first time I didn’t feel like running was a punishment or like I had to keep up with anyone. The coaching plans on there and the audio guided runs are so informative and our like therapy. They’re about so much more than running now I can run a 25 minute 5K or a 52 minute 10K, and I’m still working on getting even better! But it has changed my life for good and I am such a happier person now

Thanks for this video! I run for an hour every day. I was always running outdoors before I had my son, though being a parent meant less flexibility to just leave the house and run for 60 mins whenever I wanted to, so I've been using the treadmill to get by for years. I stopped running on the treadmill a few months ago and began running outside again. Running outdoors definitely is more beneficial if you can run where the air is clean; the difference it makes to your body and ability is so deep in contrast. Running on a treadmill for years and my body barely changed if I wasn't also doing yoga. Running outdoors with steep hills, different terrain, and no yoga; my body shape has already changed and my core strength is so much better. I'll never go back to running on a treadmill now that my son is old enough to leave at home on his own for an hour. Running outdoors in amongst nature is so much better!

It took me literally 3 months mentally to make myself run. My initial 15 to 20 runs were very difficult. My brain will find all sot of excuses not to run after 1 or 2 mins of running. It is not a easy piece of cake yet, but after consistently pushing my a$$ I am now able to run 5KMs every time. I still have my days of excuse, the most insane thing for me was to get me mentally prepared. I would love to make it to 10KMs before the end of 2023. I am hoping! Re knee pain, it depends on technique. If you heal strike (with small support on the shoe), you are at greater risk of an injury. If you front/mid strike your knee is less exposed (as the muscles in your lower leg soak up the impact). But yes, running has an amazing benefit for us and don’t worry about pace - run for enjoyment!

I think i must share my personal experience with the world and help others as well. Just run for 5 kms (after two months of warm up and slowly reaching that level) a day at any pace, means let it take anywhere from 20 mins ( fast) to 40 mins ( slow) and just try doing it for 60 days without any breaks but while taking care, not to over exert or get sport injuries and see the magic happen.... But do take care not to start consuming any extra calories from the present level of consumption and any reduction would indeed help get better and faster results.. PS: DO NOT SKIP THE PRE AND POST RUN 10 MINS OF WARM UPs and STRETCHES. Don't forget to come back and thank me when u get the long awaited never seen before results🤗.

This issue completely went away when running on the treadmill. So I concluded that though running outside is more enjoyable, running on the treadmill is better on your joints and ligaments. I would say if you can find a track that would be a good middle ground between the two since it’s outside but softer than concrete and better on your joints. Sorry for the rant. I started running around 2 years ago and in my opinion The treadmill keeps consistent pace and is good for overall improvement in time and gives a understanding of your comfortable or excessive pace for a set distance. Currently I run at 13kph comfortably for 5k which usually gives me a time of 23 minutes or near enough. On the street I find much more relaxing and dips in pace as your constantly seeing different things. Also to mention inclines/hills that can work your muscles harder and has benefits to improve overall fitness. Both are as good as each other but if you want to get better times I would say treadmill can help give yourself better understanding of what you can/ can't do. Mentioning before my comfortable 5k for 13kph. I want to increase to 14kph for 5k which is a push for me and gradually 15kph for the sub 20 5k. I tend to go for the last .50 on a sprint to emulate the finish of a 5k race.

I run as an alternative to weight lifting on days when my muscles are sore or just need a break. That's at least once a week. I cant explain it but I love how running just heals the sore muscles.

Outside is my preference by a large margin. Rain or shine, snow or heat. Nothing compares to running in the real nature environment, with its road twists, hills, puddles. Makes your brain work all the time to navigate obstacles and process background information.

Went from never running in my life to taking part in my first 5k and 10k races in a few weeks time! I honestly don't know why I waited so long to get into, it's improved almost every single other important area of my life!

I started running 17 years ago when I was 14. I started with 2 miles a day with one day off. 17 Years later I run 10-14 a day with no days off and I feel great when going into work. It really does do wonders.

@superxccomega09 2 года назад
@@BRIANDER100 I did a slight tendon issue back in 2015 due to pushing to hard. I took it easy after that by slowing down my pacing as well as take a few weeks off. Then my knee healed. Haven't had an issue since. But now I make sure not to over push on the speed workouts. I saved that for the race.

I absolutely love running in nature. I wouldn't be able to do it on a treadmill or even on the street of a city. Living in a remote rural area, I have the privilege to run on solitary roads that go along wheat fields. It's so relaxing. I can contemplate the nature and observe seasonal changes. I rarely have met a human on my way, but I often meet animals. :D Even the weather seem to me be a part of running magic. I mean not only the nice warm days but the rainy, windy, cold and snowy days too. You don't need to live in Florida to run outside all year long. I usually run 3-5 times a week 10-15km.

I really like that my endurance grows pretty fast. When I started jogging 10 years ago, after a week of running I was fit enough to run 60 minutes without a break. I thought this was the norm for over 10 years, but after browsing the web recently I found out that normally it takes multiple weeks or a month for a beginner to get to the point where he can run 60 minutes.

Well explained. Running treadmill is not so good for the knees because it’s a bit like spot jogging- the belt moves below your feet but the impact is more or less at the same spot. Outdoors, every step has a different impact. Also, exposure to the outside is a different experience.

Im in my late 20s and very out of shape. Running is hard for me, so I started by walking. I walked 10K steps a day at first, and then in two weeks i bumped it up to 20K steps a day. After around a month, walking 20K steps a day becomes effortless for me, so I started mixing it with slow jog. At first, even jogging for 1 min was hard, but after a while I could bump it up and up slowly. It might not be much, but Im confident that if I do this consistently I would soon be able to run for much a longer time. Even now, Im already feeilng all the positive effects from doing 20K steps a day.

I started running in 2016, age 23 and it literally changes your life. I was inspired by Ronnie O'Sullivan's book "Running" It started off 5km on the treadmill, build up to 10km outdoors and more recently I'm training for the Manchester (UK) marathon. Running outdoors is a drug, seriously it is extremely addictive, start slow and never burn yourself out, my career improved, mental wellbeing, family life, everything... give it a go guys!

I credit running for some of mental endurance I've acquired through much hardship in this life. The finish it- just keep going- you can do this- go no matter what is all transferrable.
