I bought mine two weeks ago and 0 regrets, I also wanted to play wii u hd zelda remakes, btw the gamepad is awesome, it even can be used as a tv controller, now I don't have to search where it is before siting in my sofa, the only problem imo is the battery life, but hey charging it is also easy. But its the perfect console for someone like me who never had a Wii back then, and now I have the chance to play all those good games I've missed... Zelda Skyward Sword here I go, (also they are so cheap, I bought mine with all the cables and two games for the same price of 2 new switch games)
we bought one hoping to not have to buy another switch (which we did anyhow) and I think I was more excited about some of the games, and for how much cheaper the games were, than the kids were.
@@Noah-hx9oi The Switch made new versions of Wii U games, but they still should've had Wii U games on the eShop. Or maybe modify the dock to play Wii U games. You wouldn't be able to play Wii U games on the go though, because the discs' diameters are longer than the Switch in portable mode's length, So they wouldn't fit. The Switch probably would've been able to play Gamecube games though.
FYI the Wii controllers will also work for some Wii U games. Just check the back of the box to see compatible controllers. I use them for multiplayer in Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros for Wii U.
So the Wii U ( apart from storage, library, and some small issues ) had the potential to be Nintendo's best selling console ( for it's time ) if it wasn't for it's horrible advertising and how quickly after the wii it was released
@@MartinKincl1993 it was considering since the Wii sold so great, six years later everyone still had one and didn't really have a need to get a Wii u. the higher quality wasn't worth upgrading, especially since the Wii was marketed towards families and older people who would be less likely to go through the hassle of buying one when they had a perfectly good Wii.
Ok, so last Saturday, on October 8, I went to a birthday party, which had a game truck. I brought my copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii along with me and played the game on a Wii console outside the truck, and inside, I inserted the disc into a Wii U and played the game on it. I chose to play on both the TV and the GamePad. I was able to try out the Wii U's backward compatibility with Wii software for the first time. I also found out what the TV button on the GamePad does. Really wish I had this console.
What did you expect to happen, one of the biggest selling points of the wii u is it’s backwards compatibility, and this video was made after the switch was released
I'm gonna by some Wii disks and a Wii remote so I can do this. 😂 Some games I want aren't available on the Wii u only on the Wii therefore this is perfect!
@@Captain_Sir_Lord_Chimchar good lord, man. you just pulled up a video i don't even remember commenting on when i was fuckin 16. that's actually crazy ngl.
thank you for the video! I have a question: does it work the same with zelda twilight princess even though i don't have nunchucks? or should I buy them?
I actually didn't know the Wii U had backward compatibility with the Wii until May 2018, when the GameTruck came to my school, and in there, I played New Super Mario Bros. U using a Wii Remote.
So you don't need the TV function but you do need wii controller's, would a pro controller work instead them feckin wii motes? Thanks liked and subbed I just got a cheap wii U yesterday and don't have a TV atm (long story) so try to get as much information as possible 😉
I’m trying to use a Wii game on the Wii U, but when I set everything up, I think only plays on the pad, not the tv. I stay on the option that says game on tv only or tv and pad. It won’t go further than that.
My game pad isn't working and I'm trying to play skylanders spyros adventure for wii, when I select TV only it just shuts down and brings me back to the normal wii u screen without the health warning screen or anythings.
