That's awesome because red and blue make purple 😎 (ik we all probably knew that especially the og commenter) but... I wanted a pokemon purple among a few other colors but @Tanner Bratcher is clever lol 😎 and this sounds like a cool romhack concept... Take bits of the broken code and make some spooky fake haunted game? If even possible
A friend of mine actually did this back in the day. We had a device called Monster Brain and it could back up your save. We transfered the save from Blue to Yellow, then to Red, and finally back to Blue. It was beyond recognition.
I remember having a game shark and a monster brain. If I'm not mistaken pelican made the monster brain. My elementary school book fair used to sell all of the Pokemon cheat goodies for some reason.
@@TempleSpeedWay I had both, too! I still have the GameShark, but it's in rough condition. Held together by medical tape 😅 I'm pretty sure some kid stole my Monster Brain at a sleepover when I was a kid
@@rickytickybobbywobbin7430 I was a little surprised too, but basically I injected my physical Blue save into the 3DS Virtual Console version of Yellow, and then was able to boot it up, use the PC, and ultimately transfer to Bank.
That gameboy color is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. If I had one of those as a kid, man, my whole life would be exponentially better. Probably.
When I was a kid I had one of those bootleg 100 games in 1 cartridges which had pokemon yellow, red and blue among those games but the funny thing was that I could start a game in the red version, continue it in blue version and then go back to the red version... like that back and forth, that was very useful and interesting. Of course the yellow version wasn't fused with these other two.
That happened to me with Ruby & Sapphire on an old version of VBA. I could catch a Lotad on one, switch games and catch a Seedot on the other. I didn't progress much though, so I don't know if I could have caught both version mascots.
probably you got the code fix where when you play one game either red or blue can continue in the other game from save date it's to be just one save and for the comments you probably got the Ruby and sapphire bundle version where when you start the game before playing it will tell you 2 chose which version you wanna play before the game load up to the main intro
I got a moded gome boy advance with a modded sp screen on top and custome DS pcb and replaced the bottom.advance screen with a ali express touch screeen for perfe t DS play back GB GBA suport
@@dragxon5637 I had to translate Russian text from a Russian hacker to be able to do this so no it's not easy but if you know how to speak German than Maybe
If you save your file on a "neutral location" between red and blue you can use the save from the other game without any issues. It depends what color the city is
There are no physical location differences between games though….the error is more to do with how the game handles warps after loading save data. More than likely, a saved pointer was just bad due to certain data not being in the same location between games (this only happens due to the very minor graphical differences which offset certain data points)
Hm I believe the games are exactly the same, so I believed that the way the game wrote or read the info from those save files were done exactly the same, now I didn't knew that the colors would influence the game like this xd
@@luisaki1693 Which means instead of being an original model of gameboy it's just a modded regular gbc. I believe they were trying to say it wasn't some special model that not many were made of Which OP clearly knew in the first place
Yeah the old fashioned way sucks, trade everything valuable over to another version then start a new game on the one that was cleared out complete the game and trade back over 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Strange, didn't expect that. I remember I had a cheating device that could backup save files for Pokemon Gold and Silver, I made a back up of my Silver file and loaded it on a Gold cartridge and it worked fine.
A cool thing I found recently with saves: I own a game from way back in the day called "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic". The game has released on many systems since its release on the original Xbox. I own the PC and Nintendo Switch version. The Switch version does not allow cheating but the PC version does via console commands. Since the switch doesn't have a console that opens up it can't have cheats. Well if you take the save from PC (with cheats enabled) and swap it with the save from the Nintedo switch you can actually have a profile with all the cheats enabled on a system that doesn't allow cheats. It's quite interesting. I find it particularly cool that the games aren't even the same as in the Switch version looks 10x better than the PC version but they left the mechanics of saving exactly the same. It's also cool to see that they didn't delete the features but actually just basically hid them instead.
It is compatible. Bulbapedia's statement - while I've not seen the page myself - is possibly based on testing I did over a decade ago using a Gameshark Pro when I was on Bulbagarden staff. Now to dig that GameShark Pro out of storage and make my own video....
@@endeav0r_49 the name is something the compiler handles. Iirc, sav files dont even have names. Just a read check if a save file exists and data is readable.
itsNovaWhite i noticed you showed the save file being uploaded as POKEMON RED.sav. Have you tried changing the file name to POKEMON BLUE.sav before restoring it?
I'm the semi-casual player who occasionally picks up the battle pass if it's a good unit and/or if I need the quartz, so I appreciate you going over Frostlord Roz here. I don't have her yet so I'll definitely pick up this battle pass. Though tbf, the abyss keys have made the battle pass much more worthwhile even when the unit isn't great. At this point just the keys and quartz make it worth it now so idk if I'll keep skipping passes in the future or just go in even when I don't care about the unit.
I kinda figured it would’ve happened, just because the gameplay are the same and can interact eachother with link cable it doesn’t mean that their coding are exactly the same because even a minor differences with different pokemon version exclusive is more than enough to confuse the game if you transfered red save file to blue and vice versa
