What happens when you swallow chewing gum?  

I’m a 50’s baby. We were told if you swallow chewing gum it would wrap round your heart and you’d die!!!

I read on time a guy swallowed so much gum over a period of time that they had to surgically remove it from his intestines and it was the consistency of taffy.
