Same! I tried swallowing medicine and swallowed too quickly, so I felt pain like in my chest and on the right side of my body (plus right in my throat)
@@kobb797 Eh, I took another thing of NyQuil and knocked out (the ones I swallowed into my lung were 2 pills, so I took 3 total). I woke up with a really dry throat and a lot of coughing, but it cleared up in some short while. So I guess the medicine did work and I took too much, even with it going into the wrong pipe
Forgetting is normal, it's a nòrmap function that we human come with throughout the evolution for critical reason such as stress and haunting memory and sometime it does malfunction or something and literally going out of control for a bit.
alex mercer that's an error or malfunction, nobody exactly know how it happen but we do know that it wasn't meant to happen, it's not like we can forget things at will (actually forget it not sealed it away)
This litterally just happened to me 2 SECONDS AGO! I was drinking some tea my grandma had gave me. And it felt like I was choking. This happened to me billions of times. I felt like I was gonna die. Luckily my grandma was their. (I spitted out tea everywhere!) I’m so glad it’s over.

KoshiiLuck I been through this and am hope that is not true right now so chocked on a piece of egg and bread or potatoe then drinker hot chocolate now coughing hurts anxiety
Weather Tracker No. Choking happens when your food goes down your windpipe. Hence why you can die - with your windpipe blocked, you lose oxygen, triggering your body to panic and cough, etc. Choking is a reflex that is meant to help you get the food out of your windpipe. Food getting stuck in your esophagus causes pain and discomfort usually in the middle of your chest, but it won’t cause you to choke.
Don't lie in bed watching a movie on your phone while drinking from the lowest possible angle because you're too lazy to sit up and drink and then this happens 😭
I do this all the time when it's the middle of the night and I want to drink water from my bottle but I don't want to sit up and ruin my cozy position and then I end up choking and spilling water all over me so now I'm both not cozy and I'm covered in water
This is exactly what happened to me. Unfortunately I wasn't just drinking water, I was also eating a biscuit and it is stuck in my windpipe. I've been coughing for the past 3 hrs. My throat literally feels torn.
Don’t you hate when you laugh and drink at the same time. When you laugh you breathe in and all the fluid goes down your trachea. You try to stop bit it’s impossible.
I actually had pneumonia by this. They took x rays of my chest and found liquid in my lungs. Had a 104 fever for two days. Went to the ER. Got better and took 10 pills a day for a week lol. A week later... water goes down the wrong pipe again drinking soda and driving in the car. And now I’m here looking at wtf is wrong with me
Fun fact: The reason we are able to cough when we choke is because we breathe before every time we swallow. So if our brain forgets to close the trachea we are able to get the food back up because of the air we just breathed.
i was eating a chewable melatonin and accidentally inhaled a chunk of the gummy, after a week i developed bronchitis, it felt like i was breathing through lungs full of cotton. And still nobody believes i have anxiety. Lovely life.
I suck on to sugar when I am chocked, the sweet saliva always helped me breathe with ease as my brain thinks that this sweet thing should pass through food pipe and not into lungs. This technique saved my life..
Very true my friend , i also live alone and it is so scary the feeling of suffocation the feeling of death the rush and the panic attack they are so scary and traumatizing that keep me awake at night and i end up being sleepless and tired and scared and on edge . SO SO scary after just one hour ago my head was not receiving enough oxygen to cough anymore but I managed to shove my fingers in my mouth and hold my mouth open until i was able to slowly breath again ! do not watch TV , YT OR TIK TOK OR TALKING TO FRIENDS WHILE EATING , KEEP SILENT , EAT SLOWLY , SMALL CHUNKS AND AND BE FOCUSED AS HE SAID IN THE VIDEO !!! life saving tips
I do this consistently once every month or two months, every since I was a child; even when I'm asleep. My husband says it scares him to death when I'm gasping for air -- so uncomfortable before the coughing begins for a good 10-20 mins. I've asked my doctor over & over if there is something wrong with me but she tends to dismiss it. It's embarassing & painful coughing. Employees knew if was just me having another episode. I told my dr I think my COPD was partially caused by this .. I probably have damaged lungs from aspiration over the last 50 yrs of my life & no one in the medical field will take it seriously.
Damn there's no video it what are the causes of what happens when it goes down the wrong pipe and the effect if you don't cough it out,can somebody help me or tell me the causes
Choked while shotgunning a beer yesterday I tried to breath and couldn’t it felt like I was drowning my friends were laughing at first until they heard me wheezing for air and someone squeezed me from behind and instantly tried to throw up and beer just shot out to me. Scariest moment of my life
I swallowed a splinter-sized piece of glass!! I tried every trick to get it down or up except for vomiting. It's been almost 2 weeks. Time to call the doctor tomorrow. I'm afraid of this. Can't believe it. It must be stuck in my trachea or lodged in my epiglottis.....It won't come up. It won't go down. My body is rejecting it. My throat is all scratched up. I can't wait to get this OUT! Never again!! I hope I live??!!
I knew about the tubes, but I thought there were two different tubes for eating and drinking, instead of there being one tube for both. So I thought that if you choke because of a drink, it went down the food tube, and that when you choke by food the food went down the drink tube. Now, I have learned something. Thanks for this video.
My mom sprayed a throat spray the wrong direction💀instead of spraying it upward where the pain was, she sprayed it like 4TIMES RIGHT TOO MY AIRWAY and I started chocking almost dieing lmao and rn as I breath it’s so painful idk what to do help, my mom thinks I’m being to dramatic and kept screaming at me saying it’s my fault :(
so this just happened today and I’m convinced it’s still stuck in there since it’s been 2 hours and nothing came out 🤡 chest is sore from constant violent coughing
Choking is terrible and makes you think you just won't be able to breathe. This happens to me so often but only with fluid! Terribly scary!! Ok if hubby's here, but what if he isn't?!!
I was eating a biscuit and it was super dry. Next thing I know I inhale a bit of it and am choking and I couldnt get it up until I inhaled again and got it pulled down in my lung so now I'm curious on what's going to happen to it in there. I'm on hour 2 of chest pain galore
This happened to me when I was in Spain. I had a kinder Bueno and I was walking up a hill and some got stuck in the wrong pipe so I stood there coughing my lungs up looking like the biggest spaz on the planet. It took a while but I eventually got it up but man it was actually quite scary
For me, i was eating a piece of meat, it got blocked off at the of where the "food pipe" meets the "wind pipe" i tried to swallow and couldn't, it was too stuck, reached for a drink to push it down. When my body reacted, trying to make me cough and take a breath inward, pulling the meat further in. My airway was totally blocked at that point. Id been able to pull in enough air when my body forced that inner respiration, adrenaline kicked in too, and i knew i had one chance, i pushed with that small amount of air left in my lung, it flew out. I thought, did i try to swallow too large of a piece? The meat i choked on was way across the room! 😁 it was Tiny... So small i was even a bit angered at myself... And, I'm a doctor. ....you never know
My Grand Mother died because of Aspiration Pneumonia, She swallowed her food on the wrong pipe while she is bed ridden. so, becareful guys while you are eating or drinking.
The epiglottis is supposed to be pushed closed naturally when swallowing food. It's easier to have water/liquids go down the wrong pipe naturally because it doesn't put as much pressure on the glottis compared to hard food. But talking while you're eating or trying to swallow can cause this too, as we need to breath to speak (i.e. have air flow over our vocal cords to produce speech sound). Also, tilting your head at various angles can cause food to go down the wrong pipe as well.
Bro I have this feeling that food is stuck in my windpipe, I regurgitated and it’s still there so that lets me know it’s not in my throat but I can still feel it in my throat when I swallow. Might be psyching myself out can’t tell.
Could you guys make this same type of video but also address choking and make it kid accessible? Very helpful in explaining to a 4 yo why she shouldn’t do ballerina moves while eating. But she also said it was boring lol
I swallowed a pill and it when down the "wrong hole" but i didnt cough or anything, it just stabbed my throat with the sharp peices since i broke it up so it would work faster...
Elizabeth Turner same case.. i have cough but lil but.. i can breathe well and eat too but i cant swallow any pills bc it gets stuck again i tried that. Now i feel it in my throat since 2 days i tried every time nothing happened ( warm water etc.)
I was camping a few years back and making a stew over coals. I was also drinking beers like crazy. I pulled a piece of meat out to taste, it was massive. I chewed it as much as I could and swallowed. It got stuck properly. I started to panic rather quickly, couldn't get it to move. Couldn't breathe. Everyone was just looking at me. Some girl came out of nowhere behind me and did what I can only assume was the heimlich maneuver. That piece of meat shot out like a cannon ball. I owe her my life I reckon.
My teacher told me that he has a professor who died because he threw the peanut directly into his mouth while he lay in the chair and the peanut blocked his trachea. That's why we should be careful when eating.
Uusually this happens to me while drinking water but noooo- not this time- I was drinking the juice that comes out of lemons/limes (spelling is not great) because- well i like the sour taste- but when i swallow it I SWALLOW WONG PLEASE-
And i dont feel good until today i think i need to go tell doctor Edit: After a several weeks i feel fine now, it was just my panic attack..........sigh
The Only Why I Reaserch this because i was Starting To Swallow My Saliva But When I Was Swallowed I Started thinking Of Pneumonia I Panic I Thought That My Saliva Went Down To The Wrong Pipe But We All Know That If Food,Water And Saliva When Down To The Wrong Pipe We Started Coughing But Mine No It Didn't
@@cacaconpatas same i was drinking water then all of a sudden it felt kinda weird swallowing it, i assumed it went down the wrong pipe but i didnt cough or anything. Now i swallow my saliva and it gets stuck in my throat and i feel like there is liquid in my nose or sonething.
Laughing while eating or drinking is very dangerous because after a laugh, u need to inhale a bug amount if air, however if there is food or liquid licated inside your mouth then it might go down the trachea as you are inhaling. Please learn about cpr in case anything like that happens. You might not believe it but these cases could turn out to be fatal!
I had a mint last night And accidentally inhaled it. I was coughing but it didn’t come up and it feels like something is stuck in my throat. I don’t have a problem breathing but I do feel a small amount of pain from time to time when swallowing and coughing. Can anyone help with advice? Or should I be worried? Please let me know anything. Thanks.
Try not to think about it as much bro I swallowed a piece of mint gum in started choking but as I started to do breathing exercises in everything went back normal how are you doing now
I got a pill stuck in the wrong pipe yesterday and I kept trying to swallow it. No wonder my brain was like "Nah, you gotta try again" and I just puked, I was deadass just trying to swallow adderall into my lungs lmao
@@l33VI08 i got a single grain of rice in my lungs but according to the doctor it would make its way out by itself and i guess it did eventually because i dont have pneumonia. my throat felt weird for a while but i tried my best to ignore it and it went away. i thought i was gonna die but it turned out not serious, we breathe in a bunch of particles everyday and the lungs has a way of getting stuff out as long as the object isn't really big like a skittle or a pen cap. if you get something big in your lungs, they have to stick something down your throat to get that shit out or you'll get serious pneumonia lol. purely because of that im still very afraid. during the time it happened, my excessive worrying made the situation way worse than it really was because panic makes your throat constrict
Soo today I was eating lunch. We had rice. Me and my friends were having a good time and we were laughing. Then I swallowed some rice and after that I laughed, and inhaled the rice. It was a weird feeling. So in about a few seconds I started to cough and I coughed up a big piece of rice. It has been like 10 hours from that incident and I still feel like I have some pieces of rice in me lol
I get a scary laryngospasm that closes my vocal cords if water hits them accidentally. So it prevents me from getting enough air to cough. It only started now. at age 49. So I make a strange gurgling sound as I take a long inhalation to get enough air to cough with, and this repeats about 3-4 times. It's not fun and its embarrassing.
