Nice! Can you mention bar width in that one? Looks wide-ish (42cm?). Awesome they include a Vision carbon bar but would prefer it 36 or 38cm. No spec on website.
@@GCPerformance18 hahahaha, come on now. Please go check the geo chart for every previous supersix and for that matter might as well do your history on the tarmac as well. It’s the main reason there are still peeps that won’t buy disc. 410mm chainstays across the board is all about profit margins. Again do your research and stop being such a sucker for the brands.
No obnoxious styling, no gimmicks, BSA BB, a handlebar you can swap out without having to buy a fully integrated handlebar, a hub with DT Swiss internals - one of the only bikes from a western brand I'd really consider. This seems like something you could put a ton of miles on without any unexpected surprises. How strange, since not too long ago Cannondale was one of the only western brands I WOULDN'T buy! How the turntables.....
You literally described a tarmac SL7 and several other brands. There is nothing special about this bike, it’s amazing, but nothing separates this from any other bike designed for racing.
yea no lie that is a tarmac sl7 as well, bsa threaded bb, same excat system to swap out handlebar and stem, dt swiss internals for there wheel brand rovals..... alot of people copied the tarmac sl7
The swappable handlebar saves about $300 // can you get an SL7 for this cheap? // Ps to all, the SL7 basically looks like a 2015 Slice Himod with a different cut out shape. (The skinny seat stays, before they were UCI legal)
@@samdumcumwhy? Because the two bikes both have wheels, a saddle, and handlebars. Cmon man, it took me less than 30 seconds to find the differences in geo. Add in weight, BB, and components and they are night and day different.
@@LifeCycle1978 look at it like art, not like bikes. Perspective and influences over nuances. the Cannondale Slice Himod was one of the first bikes to introduce dropped, ultra thin seat stays. At the time, they weren't UCI legal. Obvi theyre extremely different bikes (the Slice is a tri bike), but when you look at a trend perspective, there weren't many bikes in 2014/15 breaking the rules in this way. Now that the rules have shifted, almost everyone has a similar all rounder with low thin seat stays and a cutout section. #originstory
Hi-Mod is my next bike. I really like the geo on this one. The stack is definitely on the higher end for a race bike and am glad you mentioned this. I really wish these manufactures would offer the high end frame (Lab 71 in this case) with Ultegra. Not sure why they aren't doing that. Maybe its best to just by a frame only, which Cannondale offer.
yea I like how they give a little more height to the bikes to let the consumer figure out where is comfortbale for them, people stil enjoy race bikes and if they need to be lower for the fit it is easy ot cut once done.
There is so little difference between the Lab71 and HighMod. A lot of money for very little weight loss and an admittedly very sexy paint job. I do lust over the Lab71 but would be more than happy with a HighMod. I have a 2018 HighMod now.
@@DaveCM, I feel you. One thing none of the RU-vidrs are mentioning, is if there is an actual difference in how it rides on the road. Surely Cannondale knows that $1500 for 45 grams on an identically shaped frame is madness. The carbon and its layup is different. I'd like to hear from someone who has ridden them back to back to know if they feel different on the road. I doubt there is much of a difference. The other thing, is that up until this year, EF was riding the Hi-mod.
Dude you got my bike!!!!! I've been shredding the road with this for the past 5 months! My 3rd HiMod in the past 10 years and this one is just as badass as the others!
The one knock I have against those Vision bars is that the plugs for the cable holes don't look very good. I feel like they could have done something that looked a little cleaner.
yea but they still advertise it as 30, I am sure you can choose a right company that you can get away with a wider tire depending ont he company but I think for them to play it safe they just said that
I built the new Super Six Evo 4 Hi Mod this year, very nice allround bike: light, stiff, comfortable, fast! Love it! Just wish the expander plug would use a standard M5 headcap screw
If I'm not mistaking, these handlebars are around $300. The one you're referring to that's even more expensive is the vision metron which is somewhere around $450. I asked vision and they said it's just lighter weight carbon. I can't imagine that it's a huge difference in weight though and you're paying $150 extra. But then again you pay $1500 for a few grams for the lab 71 and people pay it lol
Where is all that weight? My TCR Adv Pro 0 2021, with its significantly beefier frame, weighs the same. Not gonna lie, this is a slick clean good looking bike, similar to the Propel.
@@gamingwitchutuu429 I got a no interest for 2 years credit card & am basically making a car payment each month. Our cars are all paid off so this isn't so bad.
I would like to get the frame set and skip the falling apart shite-mono cranks. Either Campy or replace the shite-mono crank set with Rotor. Maybe they have a colorful frame set rather than a bland one shown in the video. Excellent review. Thanks
lol this is a stock bike height I think it is nice that thye come this high, and give the conusmer an option if they are not as fit, but a retailer can easily cut this dowbn
So is this a new update that was just released or is this the same model that was available earlier this year ? David Arthur dropped a video similar to this just this week and some of us are wondering if it’s just new to you or if it’s actually just been released with minor updates to the version that was available 6 months ago ?
no this is the same new design I have done all videos, I did the same one in the other color like 6 months ago, I did the 4500 model with 105 di2 and I also did a lab71 video, just showing people the cannondale bikes
@@marcinstyle85 I disagree, when you're coming down steep hills and or are an aggressive rider, you will appreciate hydraulic disc brakes, you have total control.💯👌🏻✌🏻🚴♀️
Was in the run for one but... those holes in the handlebars aren't clean looking. Also these handlebars are too big/wide for smaller hands. Also the previous SS Evo had steer rotation problems, like not able to turn the steer completely and if steering to hard it could damage the head tube. Next to that 54 wasn't available anywhere here. So it made me go for SL8 Pro (pine green). Ok it has that funky speed sniffer but it has a power meter that this SS Evo misses so that's a bonus sort of. Also s-works handlebar look much more clean. But this SS Evo still a nice looking bike especially with a momo cockpit.
@@vodizzzle I bought it as a whole bike for 1600 in 2020 - sold the 105 groupset for 400 1 year later - bought the force parts in sale for 900 alltogether - added dt swiss pr 1400 for 600 - sold the stock wheels for 200 - added a carbon handlebar from canyon for 200 used. this adds up roughly to 2500.
@blinzi69 you bought a bike on sale, and built it with used parts. Of course it's going to be cheaper than a brand new bike at MSRP. Plus you're not comparing a Canyon with higher end carbon
Ugh Cannondale has confusing naming. From elite to 'basic' SuperSix Evo lab71 SuperSix Evo hi mod 1 SuperSix Evo hi mod 2 SuperSix Evo 2 SuperSix Evo 3 SuperSix Evo 4 Annoyingly I want to buy the lab71 in a complete bike but nothing available in Australia 😢
@@zaphod_beeblerox took my CAAD 10 on the Haute Route Ventoux event 2 weeks ago - passed plenty of modern carbon stuff but also got passed by a guy on a Triban. Didn't feel anything of a disadvantage being on something 10-20% of the price of most flash bikes there. Only other alu frame that is up there with it is the Colnago Dream.
yea thats what me and my buddy were saying it is a great looking bike, but just a little boring, thats why I applaud these companies like trek with the isoflow and pinarello with other shapes, they look cool and different
Just doesn’t look that good IMO, tired of everything having dropped seatstays and matte black paint. Gladly give up a pound for deeper tubes which look better and go faster. Still better than the SL8 and it’s overweight looking headtube but that’s a pretty low bar tbh
@@GCPerformance18I can see how they would help aero and also save some weight but Peak Torque showed they do not add compliance. It’s a great bike spec wise just doesn’t feel special
I wonder how many people have had this happen to them, I guy I know just bought a new Canyon with SRAM Force for $6000. First ride out the chain drops and gets stuck between the crank and the bottom bracket housing and he couldn't get it out. Walked the bike to a shop and they got the chain unstuck but it had to be replaced. $60. It also left a deep gouge in the carbon of the BB housing. People, don't buy carbon bikes. They are not worth it.
pedals can change weight very differently depending on the brand, what if i have test look pedals compared to someones carbon ceramic ti pedals, there is a difference there in a quarter of a poubd
hahaha, they seem to fall off for a while were they were not doing anything good with the brand but now this new launch and ef team and the rapha colabs they are becoming more modern and trendy
