I guess I qualify, too !! 80+ years old, brain surgeries and orthopedic surgery !! BUT !! I love your channel and look forward to ALL episodes !! Thanks, Tyler !!
Love when I hear you giving honor to your grandfather for the things he taught you, turning the post over. You keep his memory alive. Sending blessings and prayers for Farmer Tyler and family. 🙏
The video I saw on the wasp concoction, the guy put a stick down into the “trap” so the wasps could walk down, get a drink & then fly back to the nest to spread the poison around. Hope it works for you, hard to concentrate on work when you’re constantly worried about getting stung!
Do you want to drive? Calli looked at you like "I'd love to but you know you'd never let me, so why ask." Love that she gets along with the cows. Can't believe you wasted the best soda on wasps. I think Coke would have been better for the wasps, no waste then. Thanks for sharing your day. Have a great weekend. Can't wait to see next use for trailer.
Brother I can testify to the fact that what you are doing for the wasps WTILL WORK. I have just finally eradicated them from my property where they were a "challenge". took about 3 weeks, so it isn't a quick fix by any means. But it does work! Just be kind of patient and it will work out just great! I can't even find a wasp on my property anywhere. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU. I only got stung 4 times in the entire 3 week battle!

I had a wasps problem, which I found while rolling green pentox on the wood, I left the container there. The next day, it was full of wasps, and my deck was clean and safe afterward.
I did a similar wasp catching trick and it only worked with clear plastic bottles. The pop cans or tinted green bottles didn’t work and I think it’s because the wasps could distinguish daylight through the tiny opening and would know where to climb out
I noticed the fence, just didn’t say anything. I figured you were going to fix it with all the other fence work you were going to be doing. Love Cali with the cattle. Building a fence takes a lot of time and work. Hope the wasp 🐝 killer works. I used to live in Alaska and we had ground wasps. They are vicious, especially in the spring. I read that they go after meat in the spring to feed to their young. The biggest problem with ground wasps is that they’re everywhere and you never know where exactly because they’re in the ground. Please let us know how it goes with the sugary liquid and boric acid. I know that boric acid works really well on roaches 🪳. So why not on wasps 🐝 . I was wondering if you over seed the field with the grain you want would that work in keeping the other grass at bay? Looking forward to your next video and seeing the fence come along. Oh and I don’t normally like short videos but I’m enjoying yours immensely. You have a way with filming the you make even the most everyday stuff interesting. Thanks! Hope you and your family have a great weekend.
Oh my aching back 😬... We can see why Tyler wants to make the trailer a flat bed, so badly. The next time he has to unload something like all this steel pipe, a forklift can do the hardest work!
Good morning FT! I love your humor on these vids. I’m really surprised how the cattle are so interested in what you’re doing. Fun vid, lots done! Good luck on the bees!!! God bless!!!
I didn't know you had a scratcher!!! We just got our first one yesterday!!! I'm so excited to see our girls with it! Don't you just love the personalities of those beautiful bovine? Yeah me too!.😎 Another great video!
Boy, the cows were really wound up today!! LOL Callie was so sweet with the cow while she was in the truck. I can't thank you enough with letting us know about the Dawn Mixture for wasps........it kills them instantly. Game changer for us.........we also have a ton of them!! Take care.
Funny the tricks and techniques you develop or just come up with to do what should be a two-person job when you're working by yourself. I also share your aversion to wasps. Around here its red wasps that are mainly the problem.
I watch a farm video called “gold Shaw Farms quote, and Morgan gold is the owner. He and his wife left Washington DC and moved to a large family owned previously 160 acreage? To start a farming. His wife is a nurse, however and she was going to do gardening, but not really have much involvement in the farming, aspect, other than helping, and making the decisions about their goals and what type of animals they wanted and so forth. The reason I mentioning this is because Morgan decided to get five head of cattle, and he had never raise cattle before. The first time he brought them to his property, and open the gate for them to go out to the pasture, they ran to the farthest corner they could… Much like yours. After a couple of days, he was determined to teach his cattle to come to his car. How he did this took a lot of time, but basically he bought cattle treats and a blue bucket, which he always used so that they recognized the blue bucket as treats, and they would want to come to him. He started out by sitting in the pasture, with a good book in the bucket of treats, and every now and then he would shake it and call the cattle up… letting them get used to his voice, as well as seeing the bucket, and hearing the sound of the streets. They were terrified of him, and even though he had electrical fence put up the Bull ran right through it…. (He found out later he did not have a high enough voltage, nor a large enough circumference in wiring for cattle). Throughout the time did he sat out in the pasture with a Cattle, he would move closer & closer to them, keeping his boys, low &, calm and still remembering to shake the bucket of treats, as well as call them to him. After a few days, he was able to walk up closer and attempt to hand feed them, but they were not gonna have anything to do with that so he would make little piles for each one of the cattle, and poured on the ground… He repeated this routine so the day began to like the treats. But after a week or so, he went back to sitting in his chair and, calling them to him, still shaking the bucket. As you can surmise, eventually, the cattle began coming to him and eating out of his hands with the exception of the baby calves in the following year. he also has some clever ways to get rid of flies, and like yourself, Tyler, always looking for answers. I truly hope you take a look at his website and see if this helps you at all and training your cattle. Do you have some very beautiful Angus cattle and I love the white faces on some of them. Those were always my favorite baby calves❣️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
For wooden post if you don’t cover the top of the post you should cut the post off on a angle so water runs off the post it will last twice or three times longer good job
I hope the lemonade works, just that i know Lemons and oranges are used to repel bugs in homemade stuff. But with sugar it might just work if not just use a different juice. Good luck!
The wasps and yellow jackets are everywhere and very aggressive this year. I got stung on my pinky and not only did my finger swell my lips swelled so much I looked like Goldie Hawn in First Wives Club. Hope your homemade remedy works
I enjoy your videos, I’ve used borax and Apple juice for 2 years and have had excellent results on our 80 ac farm (1T borax.. 1/2 gallon juice has worked best) Keep the videos coming 👍👍
Generally saying in my Licensed Ag Pest Control Operator days. Yes one of many occupations. Wasps look for more Protein in their diet (raising young) in the spring than sugar. Then as the season progresses there desire for more sugar increases.naturally. Fruit on the trees so to speak. I think your right on.
Maybe having a bucket or two of cake pellets will encourage them to come to you. I know you don't like that sort of thing, but it helps. You are so kind by pushing them gently.
I've also seen people put gas in a cup. Then cover the wasps and nest with the cup. The fumes kill everything in the nest as well as the adults. Yes a waste of expensive gas. My only issue with boric acid is if pets or livestock lick it. It kill them too.
Your wasps certainly act like there is a housing shortage. Perhaps some good nesting spots over on the perimeter you rarely go would prevent squatters from moving into your equipment and fences. Your scrap lumber would be what I would reach for to do an experimental wasp nesting site.
Your Grandpa must have been a big influence on you as a young boy, now man. He would be very proud of you. Callie is a delight. They way she looked at you when asking if she wanted to drive. 😂
Enjoy your channel new subscriber what part of Northern California Redding, eureka or ? I’m learning from your channel and others about cattle since in a year or two I will be getting so calf’s
"If a little is good more is better". No. The trick is to use so much more sugar than boric acid that they can't taste it. I find 5 parts sugar to 1 part borax, by volume, works well. Since you wanted it down you may have gone over the limit. If it doesn't attract them try some more sugar to the solution.
I worry that your sugar solution is going to attract honey bees, and wipe out someone’s bee hives. If the wasps will go after meat you can mix the boric acid with cat food, and get the wasps with out attracting honey bees,
If you don’t want 5 pounds of boric acid, go to the grocery store and buy a box of 20 mule team borax. Same thing plus you can use it in the laundry before it turns hard as concrete. I sprinkle borax along the threshold of my doors and it keeps the ants out of the house. If you get fruit flys in the house, around 10 at night dump a couple tablespoons of borax down the kitchen sink drains. Put the stopper in and in the morning pour a kettle of boiling water down each one.
Buddy, I sure hope that sugar boric acid mix don't kill the humming birds and bees that pollinate the crop fields. I've come to realize there are no solutions, only trade offs. There will be some kind of ill effect for other animals that get into that stuff.
