What has Minecraft become.. 

End Remastered is a mod that does exactly what you are saying. I will say, it is dangerous to focus purely on story-based progression-based survival gameplay, as that is just one (and from my observations, one of the less played) ways to enjoy minecraft. Nevertheless, cohesion and connection would drastically improve Minecraft. Notch had the perspective that nothing should have just one use, whereas modern Mojang has openly said their goal is to make everything have a single unique feature. Leaning back to its roots could certainly assist Minecraft.

the breeze dmg is actually okay, they are support mobs and are not meant for dealing damage, however they can hurt you pretty much if you had WALLS - which you have in all those trials chambers also - Bogged is also my new favourite! cheers

Yeah, but the problem with that is that you’re taking away freedom to players, as those structures are side quests or challenges people are able to choose between going or not.

I get your point with the quests dont get me worng... but that is litterally just the cartogropher no? Like yea you can find all the structures without them but I cant ever see a version of minecraft where structures arent just preset to the seed... I think the BIGEST problem minecraft has that no one wants to admit is that everyones just gotten too lazy with it. So many people when they want to find a biome or structure just use journey map or another seed map site and go straight there, taking away any of the journey or challenge from that aspect of the game. Even with farms, the games logistics have been broken down so much of the years that its possible to make a full (relatively efficent) iron farm by just diging a 9x9 hole. things like this will always be there for players who chose to use them, and i dont blame them for choosing to. It lets you remove grind and do other things. but when you have a farm for pretty much everything and beat the game all there's left to do is build. and i think some people just get burnt out of that quite quick. - Didn't mean to write an essay but it was a good video that raised some valid points. + its a topic that's been on my mind for a while.

I disagree with some of the arguments made in this vid, which is why I made this comment. Anything I didn't mention is something I don't disagree with. Lastly, I apologize if this comment is too rude or if I got anything wrong, and feel free to correct me. (also if i messed up the timestamps that'll suck) 0:05 Not new. Updates 1.9-1.12 were when the game first heavily declined in popularity, and the game currently hasn't declined to that level yet. 0:39 Breeze attacks doing little damage is fine. They're support mobs. They're supposed to knock you around to other mobs in Trial Chambers or make you suffer from fall damage. At least I think. 1:03 To... get loot?? To have fun? Like what?? I know you mean progression-wise, but even then this still is a ridiculous complaint. Minecraft is a sandbox game and killing the Ender Dragon isn't the only thing to do. Heck, exploring isn't the only thing to do. And if you're not interested in going to most structures just because "that's too much work" and "it won't help me beat the game", that just sounds like you have a flawed mentality, not a problem that should be fixed with an inadequate solution. The devs likely already know that, given how little they update the main progression path. It's not a problem that the sandbox game is a sandbox game where you can do whatever you want(ish). This section is the reason I made this comment, because it's confusing one of the main appeals of Minecraft as a problem, which is just too silly of a complaint for my liking. Also, this is maybe pedantic but don't say "most people". Unless I'm wrong, we likely won't know of any official 'metric' of when most people quit a world (no, RU-vid/Twitter polls or anecdotal evidence aren't official, nor representative of most of the playerbase). At least say something more modest like "many" or "a bunch of". (Also also I thought you were gonna say that many structures have lacking loot, which I would've sorta agreed with. At least for Jungle Temples and Woodland Mansions, which have pretty meh loot for their rarity imo.) 1:21 Sounds pretty annoying, like yay, can't wait to go to Woodland Mansions in order to get to the End. What advantages does this have over the current system, apart from unnecessary tedium? This idea would be better if it was just a few structures like Ocean Monuments and/or Trial Chambers, but even then I'm not interested. "More challenging": Sure, but the tediousness of having to go to EVERY SINGLE STRUCTURE could just make people who only care about "bEaTiNg tHe gAmE" quit their worlds even sooner. "More enjoyable": Subjective, like if this was in the game, you would enjoy it, while I would be annoyed. "More adventures": Sure, though I don't personally think "more adventures" should be included on this list of reasons. "New meaning to speedrunning": This isn't a disagreement, I just think Mojang shouldn't care about speedrunners when adding features. Like they shouldn't add or change features just to help speedrunners. Speedrunners 1:49 In conclusion, we're both being exaggeratory, I'm being dramatic, and this isn't new for Minecraft (or any game for that matter). Games' popularity goes up and down, and it's not yet some big problem or crisis that Mojang should be terrified of. The recent updates have been smaller in comparison to 1.13-18, and popularity is declining, but it feels overblown by the many many vids along the lines of this vid. Minecraft has a lot of problems, but not that there's "no reason" to go to structures because you only need to go to two to "bEaT tHe gAmE".
