I was thinking the HSK introduction would have been coupled with 20k+ RPM options which is actually useful for a lot of aero applications that use tiny/long tools cutting deep inside a part. If you make block shaped parts that only need short tools and modest RPM - it does not matter. More RPM!!! I love RPM's!
@@Eggsr2bcrushed I would argue that is an exaggeration at these speeds with HSK. Most of the limitations we see on Haas machines are with the CAT concept where it is indeed quite difficult to go past 15k. If the effort and expense has already been paid for the HSK interface that is far better designed for high-rpm - why leave all the RPM benefits out?
How fast do you need a spindle to turn ? BT40 tool holders are readily available up to 25k. Why the sudden need for HSK Spindles. Not having a go at you directly, just a discussion. If you run a 60 hp spindle i can understand some need for HSK. But saying that we use to run horizontals with BT/CAT spindles.
I like to watch the video You make about the topic metal fabrication Machine Seeing a machine shop in United States and right now it's like seeing a machine shop in Europe for 20-years ago. In Europe Haas CNC Is too expensive You can get many better machines for same price Haas UMC 500 you will get more out of Doosan DVF 5000
Prediction: Buy the most machine you can afford that will fit in your space and will make the parts you want to make. That may very well be a used TM2-P and/or a TL1. If you have to finance it, you will be better off saving up to pay cash for a used machine. COVID-19 Update: Wait before buying anything!! If the economic downturn continues, there will be buying opportunities in the coming months.
I was talking with the local rep for a tm3P Definitely need to hold off and see what happens. Just been looking for used machines, but most locally are junk.
I just ordered a new VF2 - it was the one that was going in the Mach2020 show in the UK. Saved £15k as the show is now cancelled. Got the probing on it for half price too as Haas UK are running an offer.
