Thanks for taking the time to create the video. It was really helpful as I"m looking for a helmet, as I want to get into electric skateboarding. Keep them coming!
Thank you so much for a nice comment! I do have video about the knee pads and gloves ...have you seen it? Link to the video :ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iL6kBiHw3EI.html
Gr8 video! Exactly the info I needed. It’s hot in Miami FL and this looks like a perfect face protecting helmet to get after my Giro snowboard helmet allowed “my computer” to meet the asphalt the other night.
Your videos are always the best. The explanations are on point. I have a regular skateboard helmet but I am looking for something with chin protection. I also need a visor since the sun bothers me a lot.
Hello buddy! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. It does warm my hart when i get comments like these.... glad to help and hope you find your perfect helmet. Let Us know what will be your final choice. Ride safely!
This is great info. I took a nasty face plant spill on my roller blades years ago, no helmet, no pads. Now I where a standard skateboard helmet on my E-board, but it offers no face protection. My face is hardly worth preserving from an aesthetic point, but stitches above the eye and on the chin are not fun, as I discovered:)
David, Please get yourself a helmet with a chin bar! We need you with Us : ) in one piece! There are cheaper helmets you could get if finances are tight. Take a look at 661 recet helmet...you can get one for under 70 pounds. Ride safe buddy.
If you're riding in roads there's also a chance of faceplanting behind a van or bus. I had a friend who did that while on a bike, had to repair the whole jaw and teeth.
Does the ruroc provide proper face protection with the face plate God forbid we were to face plant at speed on tarmac as I've heard it's flimsy and meant more for crashing in softer snow compared to tarmac..? Thanks for your feedback
You may want to check out what down hill long boarders use Tsg pass full face (also D rings) and Gform compression shirt, shorts, extended elbow and extended knee/shin pads. I have been wearing this stuff for 6 months. Very comfortable. Luckily, I can't personally say how well they hold up in a wreck.
I want to start riding and get a board of my own however I don’t really want a full face helmet as they are expensive and look like they’d be hot and just don’t fit my style so I was thinking of just using my regular biking helmet. Is this fine?
I am now gonna start wearing a real good, quality helmet because i just fell. I was going about 35kmh and flew and scraped my whole leg and cracked my nail, i can atleast say that i learned my lesson.
Alvar, i hope that you are ok and all healed up. Thank you for the comment.i am glad that you will be wearing a good helmet from now on. Hopefully my video was useful. Ride safe!
Hello Adil, I do not like wearing the goggles unless i do downhill or a paint ball :) I do normally use motorbike sunglasses. Why motorbike sunglasses you might think ! Well because they are impact resistant. Hope this helps buddy.
Thanks man , I ll look into them ! I'm trying to find a good protection from dust , bugs and especially if riding at high speed with a helmet like the Fox Pro that has so many airway entries and no front shield protection.
Decent helmets means decent safety + GoPro mount. High safety helmets are at a high price and may be heavy. Some people use half face helmets and some protect the jaw and back of head specifically.
Thank you for a nice comment buddy! I am glad that my videos help people to stay safe on the boards : ) Did you see my other videos on safety equipment?
I've fallen and scraped both forearms and cut a little through skin between fingers. I now have two different pairs of gloves. I never hit my head but I went a-head and bought a dirt bike helmet because it's made for serious impacts at speed. Also this second hand helmet had lots of decals and colors by O'Neil, which means it's like a safety attention grabbing thing so cars and pedestrians can see me.
Hi, Thank you for watching and for the comment. It is a lovely helmet and is perfect for warm weather. It does come with different cheek pads so you can adjust the helmet but I would recommend you find the shop that has them in stock and try out, Stick around and ride safely buddy!
@@PavelGarmas I'm a first timer to Eboards.. Just purchased the flexe 2 carbon and I'm not going to skip the safety aspect! I'm had a serious motorbike accident years ago so Im well aware of the risks. Thanks for the uploads and advice!
Good that you are safety aware! Any questions - I am here. I am quite an expert with SR boards : ) and a biker ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qBQhPKEdRmA.html
Hello Eric! How are you my friend? welcome to my channel! Than you for the question. I normally just Google the item and look for the best deal out there.... I did pay 160 pounds for the helmet delivered at the time. I did some search for you and assuming that you are in UK - found you a deal ! £157 .....i did nit buy from them but the site looks ok....www.chainreactioncycles.com/fox-racing-proframe-matte-helmet-aw18/rp-prod157005?gs=1&sku=sku574123&pgrid=60711842578&ptaid=pla-425930423000&PLA+All+Products&|sRpKbRbqJ_dc|pcrid|309840119939|pkw||pmt||prd|574123UK&gclid=Cj0KCQiA597fBRCzARIsAHWby0GXs3iACT5Wp2gtyyiCxuO6rVxprDyEp_tw39_t0O9v0juCODDgVxYaAlQ3EALw_wcB Hope this is helpful, Stick around and ride safely buddy ; )
Full motorcycle helmets usually have multiple vents though? (Top, chin, back, and sides...) Why not compare modular flip helmets with the ECE racing/safety standard. Plus, motorcycle helmets have quick release chin straps now. Really wouldn't trust those magnetic ones to stay together in a crash scenario...
Well.....you do have a point here. The helmets in the video are my own so I did compare what I use myself. Unfortunately motorbike helmets are very heavy so I did buy the Fox. It is approved for downhill MBX so should be half decent : )
Airflow of MX helmets and or other motorcycle helmets airflow is not great at slow speeds, especially in a hot climate you would be better off with these open frame designs which move a lot of air under 40mm/h, hence why you dont see MT Bikers using motorcycle helmets. Weight is also a big factor. The MT Bike helmets are real good for slow to medium impacts.
Hi Pavel, 2 questions (Now it has been nearly 2 years since this video). Do you still love the helmet? Is there anything that you have discovered that you don't like? Thanks for the all the videos,
Hello Harry! Thank you for the comment and the question buddy! Yes, i do still love the Fox proframe and do use it most of the times. I can not find anything wrong with it ... at all. Couple of things to consider though : it is a very well vented helmet so does get a bit cold during the winter ( i do use a thin hat under it then ). and the last one - the internal pads to get smaller when broken in but you do get different sizes of them in the kit so go for smaller pads first and then change in couple of years. Hope this helps. PS! I am not sponsored or supported by any company so do say how it is ; ) Ride safely mate!
Yeah, I've watched enough of your videos to trust your opinion 😊 So no crashes in it yet? Curious to see how well the padding is at preventing pain. Oh, and I found a video that shows a visor that came off the helmet in crash. It is held on by three small plastic push-tabs and some adhesive. It shouldn't be too difficult to remove with a bit if heat 😉
LOL, I did crash a couple of times.....falls are in my videos but i guess you are not watching then 100 % ; ) Visor is there just to direct the wind and reflect the light.... it is not a safety part of it and is meant to come off easily, Ride safely buddy!
@@PavelGarmas I do not have time to watch every video! I am a e-mountainboard guy too, not e-skateboard 😉 But I still like your technical product videos. My comment about the visor was in reference to another views comments (scroll down), asking if the visor came off. And you said you might try to take it off. So I thought I'd tell you how to remove, just in case 😉 Stay safe and have fun mate.
Always! Remember to take some cool videos doing what you are doing! I am planning a new video " I LOVE LIFE " and will be after cool shots of different hobbies.... would love to have you in it! New esk8 music video is coming out today....check it out : )
you talk about not liking the first helmet because it gets hot.. then you get a full face helmet with barely any ventilation lol. I'd recommend looking at dual sport/dirt bike helmets for some good ventilation. Also its called a face shield not a visor (visor is what goes above the face shield generally found on dirt bike helmets) Edit: Nice, I see that you went with a dirt bike helmet haha
Good morning! Not sure to be honest.... I do not think so. But it is not an obstruction when you ride....cant even notice it, Would you like me to try and remove it when i get home?
Agree totally ,not long ago I came of my board ,ended up putting my tooth threw the bottom of my lip after a face plant ,ended up having to drink my beer out of a tee pot .not cool ,plus the the cost of the dentist would have been the same as a couple of these helmets , travel well stay safe ,gosk8🙏🏻👍🏻😎
Byron, So sorry to hear this mate.... hopefully you are all healed up now. Thank you for sharing. Hopefully people will listen to the advise. Ride safely mate! And do not forget tp join my Facebook group esk8freedome ;)
Since I watch this I’ve been looking at American gridiron helmets ,they have face cages & are realy light ,not that $$$ either ? I’ll let you know how I get on ,once again thanks 👍🏻😎
@@PavelGarmas Thanks again for the recommendation... We shouldn't buy cheap stuff when it comes to protecting your life!!! Ride safe m8 bike or skateboard.
Hi, I was able to get mine for £140 UK delivered. I can not put a price on my life so got a helmet that I think will save me. Do not be cheap with the helmet buddy! Stay safe and ride safely.
If you have one impact on that helmet its in the bin . Skateboarding helmets have tougher outer shell plus firmer foam to absorb shock. I would look at downhill skating helmets designed for road impacts . The fox is for bush impacts . Your computer might not work to well hitting the pavement in that .
Hi mate , Thank you for watching and for the comment. You are correct about the motorbike helmets... hit it hard and you should replace it ... all depends on how likely are you to fall an hit the head. Only happened once to me in 4 years. The fox is meant for all-mountain riders and enduro racers, it packs MIPS™ technology and a dual-density EPS liner. ... i think its good enough for the way i ride but open to suggestions. What helmet would you recommend buddy?
@@PavelGarmas thanks for reply . As to which helmet l would recommend l havent a clue . Been researching open face helmets for use on electric skateboards . Was looking at the fox helmets but hard to get here in Australia at present due to covid . A helmets going to be better than none l suppose . Thanks for the video .
@@peterobrien7465 No problem Mate, I do have a few helmets because i do ride a motorbike ... so far Fox proframe is my favourite esk8 helmet especially when its warm outside. Ride safely buddy!
So basically get a MTB helmet for eskateboarding? I guess "eskating" type of helmets are just a gimmick word to gimp the prices..any MTB helmet should do the job? I also don't trust those hybrid type of helms but i don't wanna look ridiculous wearing a half-face
Hi, You are correct - go one step higher..... ESK8 helmets are not good enough in my opinion. Full face is the way to go or at least chin protection but not the removable one!!! Ride safely brother.
@@PavelGarmas Hey, i really appreciate the response, after some brief research i ended up between the TroyLeeDesigns Stage Stealth and Fox Proframe Matte. Eventually i ordered yours because of the cool looks. Would you recommend these type of helmets when skating in the winter? Here In Denmark we get freezing cold temps below 0 most of the time. Is it ideal to wear a fullface scarf or beanie undereath? Thanks in advance
@@TheAETHER22 The Fox is very open and is perfect for summer. I do wear like a tube tip of hat and a full face mask during cold month. It is not a warm helmet but the view angle is very large and it is crazy light. I love it :)
Any helmet is better than non, wether it be a cheap walmart bike helmet or a full face motor bike helmet,a decent helmet is like £30, a life is certainly worth more
@@PavelGarmas dot is that standard but half of the manufactureres make it below the dot standard and put a dot sticker on it, since they are the ones doing the testing, also even if everyone obeyed the standart it is really outdated and was made based on car crashes back in the 60-80ies for more information watch fortnine s video about it
