I am always amazed to see how much we have in common! Like everyone else here I think you and me are soul mates 😍 I always wear the same bracelets, and one is a metal one like your, with the names of my 4 sons, and the other is the one I call 'the family bracelet', a black string with the infinity symbol, each family member owns one 💚 Another thing: my purpose for 2022 is not to buy any cloths for me too... Dear Ana, I wish you were my best friend, I would have so many thing to talk about with you... but I rarely comment your videos because of my struggles to write in English. So... much love. Bye 😘

I would love it if you gave reviews and talked about books more. I’m sure that I will be inspired to branch out in my reading. And I agree that if there is space in the budget, please support local artists and creators, especially if they resonate with you, as you say. I am one myself and know how meaningful it is, in many ways. Thank you again Ana.

Dear Ana, thanks for sharing this video on mindful buying and dyiing things. This christmas i made tote bags, books (using fabric) about the nativity, wordsearch and a few fun other activiy for my grandnieces. For wrappers, i reused paper bags by gluing christmas wrappers on the outerside and put the goodies into it. For the adults, i made treats as gifts such as fruitcake and cookies. It was a relief as i was stressed about going out and picking things for them at the malls!

Hi Ana, thank you for this video! I say YES to book reviews! The 2 books you bought are right up my alley!! And in a previous video you mentioned 2 books of French authors. I must look for them. I loved the broches. So nice. And I totally agree with you on the fact that things also have a spirit/energy. And touching them is a wonderful exchange of energies. I love it. I bought some beautiful thick oker knitting wool. I am so excited. For now I am looking at them, feel and smell them. And I am choosing a nice pattern I have never done. I will need to be focused and present while knitting instead of the hypnotizing flow of my simple stitches but I can not wait to start.

my mom wanted to start knitting when she gave up smoking. buying enough wool for a sweater actually somehow costs more than buying a sweater from a mid-range shop. so i have a pro tip, never tried it myself but i probably should. when you go to vintage clothes shops, look for super extra large knitwear that you like the color of. my mom found this supersized male burgundy sweater, color was gorgeous, and some large grey-ish vest (that colored gray that you sometimes get, you would have loved both). she paid 3 or 4 dollars on both and did three sweaters and a vest :)) the thing is that you find something that unravels well (doesn't have seams). but you save 90% and can find some top quality merino out there

Watching from the Philippines! Been a minimalist for five going six years now, but I've been into crafting and art since early 2000s while still at college and it was difficult to combine the two at first but I later came to realize that it is still possible to merge your hobby and live an intentional simple lifestyle. I have never discarded my tools and wares, instead I keep them organized and neatly packed into partition boxes only to unpack when the mood is very fitting to create and it really works when there is a lot of space around you it affects everything as well. I am enjoying this enjoying this channel so far, always glad to know different perspectives on the subject once in awhile.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful creations. It is a joy to me to see what others make. I have been an intentional minimalist for years and still have to much stuff. It's time to purge again. I donate my items to the local thrift shop which has very cheap resale prices so affordable to anyone. A good winter coat is only 3 dollars for adult and 2 dollars for child. 25 cents for a plate or bowl etc. I have outfitted my grandchildren many times over with many items with original store tags still on them. They grow out of their clothes in 8 months and we take good care and they can be donated again and reused by someone else. My granddaughter will get clothes there and redesign and sew them to fit. Much cheaper than buying fabric , buttons, zippers and elastic. Pluse you can remove these items from the free pile and use them in your own clothing making. It is good to learn these valuable lessons young.

Hi Ana, yes, I agree that we can find much happiness in making important decisions on what to buy and what not to buy. Minimalists are certainly not impulse shoppers! I'm an enthusiastic cyclist and this month I purchased new cycling shoes and a new saddle. I found substantial discounts too! I call myself an urban forager. Americans are often wasteful, and believe it or not, when I go for walks I occasionally find good quality clothing items just lying on the sidewalks. Over the years I've collected three or four nice jackets, t-shirts, pants, gloves, and sweatshirts. About 20% of my go-to wardrobe are items I've found. I've also found a really nice, attractive, fully functional table lamp and an expensive chef's knife for the kitchen. Where I live the city features a yearly event called Art Trails. For a week or so local artists open their studios up to visitors. You get to see not only their finished work but where and how its made. All kinds of artists and crafts people participate. It's a lot of fun to drive around visiting their workshops.

I would love to hear reviews of your recent new books please (or any others). Although we have never met I can tell from watching all of your videos that you are the sort of person whose opinions I would value, so as an avid reader myself book reviews from you would be great. When you held up the second book I actually said out loud that I would buy that myself just for the cover! ☺️ As an hsp I also value the whole experience of reading as you mentioned. I loved everything about this video as I always do, from the jewellery you bought to the hand crocheted snowflakes. I would love to be able to follow a knitting pattern, but alas I have no idea how 🤷‍♀️, I do love knitting though as I find it so soothing and as a result I (and almost everyone I know) have lots of scarves lol 😁. I too have decided not to buy clothing of any sort in 2022, I have all that I need so I’m concentrating on trying to save money where I can as I’m moving to another flat. I think that a year of no-buy should be preceded by years and years of cluttering with things you just have no chance to use up. Otherwise it will give you the opposite effect. Instead of freeing you, it will make you feel overly restricted. I like an idea of not buying certain items during specific time. This way you will have time to evaluate what you really need and make a list of such things. Thank you for showing your jewelry, those are so pretty 😍

Love this conversation! And I am going to learn to knit again! (I made a sweater a hundred years ago . . . Well, actually 30 years ago.) I crochet, but have avoided knitting because I don’t know how to fix my mistakes!! Also, YES, recommend what you’re reading that’s helpful and promotes “growth.” Thank you for this message today.

I love your principles on purchasing artisan items. It’s a wonderful philosophy that I think I will adopt. And I love your choices, especially the carrot bracelet. So cute! And I love how you appreciate your books. Do you know about Kindle Unlimited through Amazon? A very cheap way to read books.

I love your videos! And to my great pleasure, I have not watched all of them just yet, so there's plenty to go. But I would LOVE any of your future book reviews! I admire your taste very much, and I will certainly keep watch for any recommendations of Russian authors. I have a lovely Russian friend where I live, and I would love to discuss literary content with her :D Her English isn't good, I'm afraid, so I can't recommend your channel to her. P.S. Thanks for teaching me to pronounce 'Malevich' correctly!

You knit!! I'm a fellow knitter who also spins and sews clothes. I managed to not buy any clothing for 3 years; just thrifting and making my own. This has led me to minimalism and your super videos! I've just decluttered our entire house and am loving the space and lightness it has brought to our lives. I've even given away most of my yarn and fabric...this was tough, but absolutely necessary. I love knitting socks...hopefully I can knit some for you sometime! Thank you Ana for these inspiring insights into your life ❤️

Funny, right before watching this video I made myself a new necklace and bracelet out of bookbinding thread. I love bracelets, but because I do a lot of things with my hands and have several health issues, the bracelets I had weren't something I could wear. They were beaded and pretty, but too clunky. But I can wear light dainty ones if they are cloth or a softer thread. Yarn hurts or itches, unfortunately, but this bookbinding string worked well. It was colorful thread, so it has a fun vibe. That little cloth one you got from the artisan is pretty and practical. My parents didn't teach me much, but working with what you've got is something I picked up along the way. :) Hope you have a great day!

Watching your video made me feel like knitting again. I used to knit a lot, I loved the possibility of choosing the patternes and colours that I liked. The thing is that a some point you couldn't get good quality yarns so the clothes you made freyed even before washing. This was quite some time ago. I'm going to explore what's available now. Thanks for your inspirational video. I loved those towels!

In 2021 my challenge was no new clothes. I did well so in 2022 I’m continuing that. I’m adding another challenge of no dining out. I can have a cup of coffee in a coffee shop or if my husband wants to take me out for food. Love your channel and content. 😁

I am so thrilled to hear that you experience books with all your senses too. Some people just don't understand how the smell of a book or the feel of the paper contributes to the experience of "reading" a book. And based on your previous video, I ordered the George Perec book. Would love to continue hearing your book suggestions and reviews.

This brought back the memories of my mom buying huge ugly knit sweaters in second hand stores. She used to buy them ones made of good quality yarn, she'd undo them, spin the yarn around chair legs, wet them and leave to dry, to make the yarn straight again. Albeit it was my brother and i who were responsible for spinning the yarn around the chair legs and then spinning the yarn back into balls. Used to bloody hate it then, but omg the pieces she could knit. I didn't always apreciate a handmade sweater, as in easter block you'd want everything other kids were wearing, i.e. cheap colourful synthetic clothes from regular markets. Looking at the pictures now i realize how different i actuslly looked. Wow.
