What I DISLIKE about my 2017 Kia Soul - The Good, The BAD, The Ugly

Ok so i have looked at this video and the dislikes are not what i see as dislkes. I love the kia souls and i want one and will be getting one soon. The things that you list are not sooted for me being a single family with just me my husband and a black lab. I have always loved the body style and the comfort of the kia soul. I have read the reviews of the other customers and what you have said in relation to them has even changed my thoughts on getting one.

KIA must listen to people like you (and its customers and service departments in general). My 2021 has a spare tire, AC that can turn the entire car into a meat locker. I saw a how to video on how to change the headlights in an earlier model where the fuse box was right behind the drivers side headlight. In mine, the fusebox is moved back and sits lower giving access to the headlights. (Well, at least the ones that aren't now hidden behind the fender liner anyway.) I had just about everything out of my engine bay while eradicating hidden road dust after I bought it. Air cleaner, battery and tray, fuse box coil packs, windshield wiper arms, trim panel and wiper motor and I was done in around two hours including cleaning time. To me it seems the mine was designed by people who have actually worked on a car and decided to excise their pet peeves in regards to maintenance.

I have 2016 and am enjoying it. It is yellow and I can find it when I park.

The lower the seat, the better for me. Definitely a plus for me!

0 ISSUES WITH MY 2017 PLUS WITH NAVIGATION! The only recall was a software update and they have Gtd. the engines till 2033!So no issues at all.It is perfect for singles and older couples!

Sounds to me like you should sell your car, so many dislikes.

I have the 2017 Kia, bigger engine with the larger wheel base,, bought new, and mine has the emergency spare tire. Are you sure someone didn't just take yours before you got it?

I have a kia soul which is fully loaded. It's perfect for me I don't have small children. I typically ride alone. But trunk space is very small especially when I purchase a lot of groceries.

I have had 2 souls a 2013 and a 2019. I have enjoyed both of these cars. I admit the 2013 did not get very good gas mileage. The 2019 gets much better mileage and I believe has a bigger gas tank. My cars are base model and I got a spare tire with the 2019 not with the 2013. I really don't have any complaints with the Souls. I'm by myself so it fits my needs perfectly. I have to say this doesn't seem like the right type of vehicle for you. If you can manage it I'd see about trading it in for something that fits your needs more.

My seats set high.........if you can roll down the window and use a drive through atm without even streaching it sets high enough. The center back armrest ,all u need to do is pull it down in the back, it has two cup holders. The plus with navigation has a spare tire. Clearly this was a base model. It is easy to get in and out of/The only thing I really miss is heated outside mirrors!The sport mode driving position is fast but I usually keep it on regular for city driving and Economy and cruise control for interstate. And the upgraded stereo system is awesome! I dont fool with the color changing circles on the inside that you can set to beat with the music .I just keep them off.

The Kia Soul Plus with Primo Package (2017-2019) are the best ones made. The Exclaim's dual clutch transmission wears out and becomes problematic at around 30-40K miles. I also prefer the front end on the Plus models in that year model range. Love the Kia Souls. Too bad they ruined them in 2020 with the garbage CVT throw away transmissions and all the Nanny State technology such as start/stop, turning them into circus bumper cars. What a joke. Also the UVO systems in the new ones EXPIRES after 1 year and a subscription is required. Not so in the previous models. They ruined a great car. Really sad the way this world is headed. (Down the drain).

I don't blame hardworking folks who dare NOT touch any Kia or Hyundai vehicle. With the massive bill they shouldered from the engine failure fiasco plus other major safety recalls, guess who will foot the bill eventually?

Idk how you get so poor gas mileage, maybe revving engine too hard when not needed? I have exactly the same base manual KIA in different color, and I consistently get 26-27 MPG in slow city driving, and 36-38 on highway road trips.

I think it's a great car, I don't need anything al blamed up I have a 2017 LX and I'm in love with it. I'm not a high-maintenance person. My kia Soul actually has a spare tire. If he didn't like the car, why buy it 😂

U R Right on many aspects. I changed to 2020, way better MPG beside weaker engine 2016 2.0L 163 HP vs 2020 2.0L 147 HP, but way better MPG 29-33 the feeling of acceleration/dynamic haven't changed. I don't like in 2020 model AC refrigerant 1234 yf; 10x more expensive vs R-123

have you had any issue with the oil consumption? I'm thinking about getting the 2022 Kia Soul. But I saw several comments on other videos that the Soul consumes oil like crazy, and that's a common issue in several Kia cars including the Soul.

$500,000 house. $16,000 vehicle. It don't make no damn sense. I get that real estate is an investment and vehicles aren't, but by that metric there should be orange crates for furniture inside of the house.

Kias typically get lower fuel economy than Japanese models. Especially older models. Hell, my rear-wheel drive V8 Grand Marquis can get 27-28 mpg on the highway. The point of this vehicle is size, simplicity, and low price.

I have a 2015 Soul....its never idled smoothly and puffs out black smoke. Since Brand New! I DESPISE THE G.D.I. engine....this will be my Last Kia

I get average 35 mpg.
