In today's video I share a few comforting meals I eat in winter as well as some cosy treats! I also wanted to share what eating seasonally may be like in another climate so I teamed up with Amanda from ‪@AmandaDucks‬ to share what she eats in a sub tropical climate (Australia).
I hope you enjoy the video and be sure to check out Amand's video too!

Your focaccia bread looks absolutely delicious. Putting the olives into it has to be so tasty, I have never thought about of that. I make scones a few times a month. My family really enjoys them. I love a pumpkin and lemon blue berry. Its ones of those recipes that you can add with is in season and enjoy them many different ways. They are wonderful for breakfast, snacks, or my favorite with a hot cup of coffee or tea. Hope that your elbow feels better Immy

Can we all agree that home-baked bagels are for every season?? Everything Bagels go with everything and, of course, they are also such a treat just on their own… so satisfying!! 100 Thumbs Up to you Immy 👍, you encouraged me to step into ‘Bagel Baking Land’ right here in my own kitchen, and for this I thank-you immensely💕 Home-baked bagels for the win… all year long!! Ⓜary🥯🥯 PS - thank-you also for the fascinating info on vanilla here and also on your Patreon. It is so interesting and eye-opening. Much appreciated🌿

YEAASS… thank-you Immy & Amanda!! This video encourages me to step out of my winter snow globe here in northern 🇨🇦. I haven’t seen green grass or a flickering leaf in over five months, therefore my Dutch Oven has been working overtime. In our summer garden we grow several varieties of squash, and then we cure them for winter storage at Autumn harvest time. You & I are on the same page, Immy, squash are very versatile and budget friendly in the kitchen. 11:30 - Yikes… did you say injury? Should we be concerned?? Get well soon, my friend. Sending you healing vibes. Ⓜary💕

I really liked your video! Regarding vanilla i wanted to add: Vanillin is the chemical substance that makes vanilla taste like it does and can be made chemically from any tree. It therefore has the potential to be far more ecological and cheaper when compared to original vanilla. Additionally it is the exact same substance as in vanilla, so vanillin is safe to use 😊

Hope your elbows get well soon! A cool video as always Immy! Vanilla is the best! I'm from Veracruz, a large vanilla producer. I have visited a vanilla factory and farm and it was amazing. People braid the empty vines and place them inside chest of drawers to perfume clothes.

Ethan Chlebowski did a great video on “Is real vanilla actually worth it?” which was really interesting to see types of vanilla with different cooking methods. Definitely worth checking out. I’ve had a similar shovel that I have in my car for emergencies. I sure hope you don’t have to use that all the time, even for light snow in the back! Hope you heel quickly, but there’s so much content in just this video, so glad you could make into more videos. Thanks!

Sorry my words didn't quite hit the mark here, I wasn't intending for it to sound factual, rather exploitative, unethical and wrong. A more appropriate word may have been 'subjugated.' Sorry for my mistake here.

@@SustainablyVegan for what it’s worth: I know you know and I felt your meaning. And honestly that’s exactly how they’re seen by their “employers” - that’s the part that pained me. That reminded me of “The History of the World in 7 Cheap Things” if you haven’t read it, I feel like you’d enjoy it. It looks at history through the “cheapening” of food, nature, labor, etc.

Hey Immy, I just re-watched your video cuz somehow, on the first run through, I missed hearing about your elbow injury (I was marinating some tempeh for dinner). Take care of that elbow… maybe cut back on the snow shovelling, and no more cartwheels🤸🏽‍♂ for you for a little while.. haha. On a happy little note, I noticed that this video started with you wearing your Granny’s cardigan and finished with your classic thrifted treasure… the iconic grey & black Diamond back jumper. It’s nice to see these two favourites made the trip with you across the pond. They look so familiar, so cozy, and so loved. Sending you healing vibes, Ⓜary💕

Hey Immy, I am fairly new to the channel and have really been loving your videos! Have you heard of Colleen Patrick-Goudreau? She is also a sustainable vegan who aims to be as zero-waste as possible. She has a few podcasts on zero waste, and she also has on demand and live cooking classes. She has one on making homemade soy milk and tofu that you might like, since you make your own tempeh! Also, where did you get that garlic roaster? I've never seen that but love the concept!

Loved the video and collab! Do you have your no-knead bread recipes you've used in high altitudes anywhere? Patreon? Or will they be in your scratch e-book? I want to try making bread again, but ever since I moved to a high altitude, my usual recipes have not turned out, and one I got on Google wasn't great either 😅 Hope your elbow feels better soon!!

I buy all my produce at the farmers market, which encourages me to eat seasonally since somethings are not available there year round. Also next time you make olive bread, add rosemary. Trust me!
