Many people think after surgery you just eat what you want just in smaller portions but your videos show that actually it's still a lot of work because you need to give you body the nutrients required and that you are still following a diet and it's not a free for all or easy after. x
I had my bypass in December 2023, and I'm so glad I've found you. I've struggled so badly, and I'm hardly eating. I can't stand protine powder, so yay, thank you so much. Also, i thought I was crazy for the morning restriction, but clearly, it's normal xx
Have you tried extra firm tofu, Trina? It's lovely fried with sauce. My favourite is maple and BBQ sauce. It's packed with protein and plant based so a good way to not overdo meat if you ever want a change up. You can buy smoked tofu too, just slice and roast and add it to mixed roasted veggies.
Hi Trina - you should defo check out Catherine Kay! She's a gorgeous illustrator from Redcar who had her surgery around the same time as you and has documented it on her personal channel. You're both such inspirations - I'm having my surgery this year with the NHS and it's so nice seeing people my age who are going through this process.
Had a gastric sleeve 10 days ago. Your vlogs are really helping me. Max is gorgeous. Although this is a year ago, I quickly looked up protein pancakes to try in the future. I always wondered why breakfast was so difficult. But what I'm realising is everyone's journey is so so different. I also like that you've had it done in the UK. So feel my experience is similar in that regard. Thanks for the content. ❤
Hi Trina, also have diffuclties with protein intake, my dietician gave great tip, add 3-4 spoons of skimmed milk powder to your everyday milk pint and try to consume a pint a day via latte and cereals etc, it adds 30g protein each day, cant even taste it, hope that helps.
Hi!!!!!! NEW SUB!!!! I'm so excited I found your channel!!!! I started my RU-vid Weight Loss Journey in November (2022). I've been searching for other RU-vidrs who have gone through some of the same things I have and who have experience and knowledge for this journey. I haven't had surgery for my weight loss but I love hearing other people's experiences on their journey. I LOVE your attitude and personality. Love the positive vibes!!! Cheering you on! 💥💥💥💥
I would have replaced the other half of the pancake with berries ( blackberries and raspberries) and some crushed nuts. It will fill you longer. You've always been beautiful, but you're absolutely glowing now. Well done! I went the none surgical route ( intermittent fasting ), but my friend went the surgical route. Both are immensely hard to do. I would say surgical route more so because there's more to do and consider. It really does take dedication whichever you choose. ❤️
You are an amazing woman. I love your dedication and you were always beautiful but I’m happy that this is the key to a longer life. I was always heavy, but as I got older I didn’t like the yuck feeling after I would stuff myself. I could just look at food and gain weight. Then Covid that probably was 25 lbs gone and now I can’t enjoy food. It’s just blah. Life is weird. You are Awesome, Amazing and beautiful.
Hi Trina, the best topping for me is some blueberries, little bit of yogurt and cinnamon, yum!😊 If you like beans (good protein as well), you can make chiĺli with few tortilla chips, i love it! Take care!😊
How amazing are you doing!! Protein is so difficult if you don’t like supplements. I’m the same. Maybe try some of the Protein Water that is the only artificial protein I can stomach especially with ice. It’s just like drinking squash/Cordial. Fave Total Yoghurt is amazing too blend with fruit and freeze for an ice cream type dessert or I make savoury dips with lemon juice & garlic purée. Or cucumber for Tzatziki type thing just let your imagination run wild. It’s perfect for dipping your chicken in. You can also mix it with plain flour to make a protein dough and roll out to make pizza bases, tortilla wraps/ flat bread type things. Also the Eat Lean Protein cheese is brilliant melted. Low cal/ fat for the amount of protein. Hope that helps a bit. ❤ 16:04
I’m about 3 months post op and I’m so glad someone else struggles with the protein shakes and yoghurts. I find them soooo vile, I’m struggling with my protein intake, my hair is starting to fall out 🥹
Hi Trina, I'm 4,5 months post op and suddenly i'm experiencing hunger for the past 1,5 weeks, and i'm not as full as i was before that, at least it feels like that. The scale also didn't move until this morning, only it was 0,5kgs more..very frustrating. Did you also had a moment in your weightloss journey where you experienced a sudden feeling of being more hungry? or not seeing the scale move one bit?
I'm 6 days post op now, so this is quite a long way off for me yet. So far, I've managed to deal with the whey protein shakes, BUT I've had to mix it with my semi milk allowance, as I was struggling to drink it just made with water! I'll be looking forward to moving onto food, protein though, to replace it ! 🤢
My Nutritionists are telling me that I shouldn’t be drinking caffeine because it causes dehydration. I’m still in the earlier stages of pre-op. Is a small amount of caffeine something you can work up to post-op?
I got bypass 3 weeks ago. I'm trying to figure what to look for before I over eat. What are the cues like? Is one of them when your mouth starts to get like slimey feeling? Is hiccups a cue?
If you don't mind me asking, what would happen if you accidentally ate more than your stomach could handle? Would it be dangerous or just uncomfortable? thanks x
It makes you very uncomfortable and you can end up being sick if there’s no room for the amount. For me it feels like it’s trapped in my chest and makes me extremely nauseous and I have to pace up and down until it ease’s usually in about 15 mins or so it goes off. I can end up gagging but some people aren’t actually able throw up after sleeve surgery and I think I’m one of them weirdly
@@jademulrooney9209 I had RNY and am unable to throw up when I over eat. I just dry heave, which is SO much worse than just ridding your body of the food and moving on. I also get major foamies as part of the deal.
Have watched many of your vids & perhaps I just missed it.. Did you have the gastric sleeve or RNY? Based on several things, thinking likely the sleeve, but not sure. (the 21st of this month, actually.. will be 20 yrs since my RNY bypass) :)
I do usually try and incorporate some fresh vegetables. I had planned to have corn with my chicken but didn’t realise I had ran out. My focus is on protein so I don’t end up having fresh veg every day, but I try to get it in where I can either as a snack or within a meal.
@@TrinaLouise Its very important to have some veg in every meal as far post surgery as you are. Obviously you should eat the meat/meat substitute first, but high protein veg should be a close second. Here are a few suggestions re veg with the highest protein in them: Green Peas. 1 cup: 8.6 g protein. Artichokes. 1 cup: 4.8 g protein. Sweet Corn. 1 cup: 4.7 g protein. Avocado. 1 cup: 4.6 g protein. Asparagus. 1 cup: 4.3 g protein. Brussels Sprouts. 1 cup: 4 g protein. Mushrooms. 1 cup: 4 g protein. Kale. 1 cup: 3.5 g protein.
You're doing incredibly Trina-Louise 😃 Did you ever Google Chuck Carroll, The Weight loss Champion? Don't be put off by his name, he's got an amazing story and is truly inspirational Trina-Louise smiling 😊
