Thank u for having a video like this. This is my 1st week and I’m on four clear liquids and it’s a little hard for me. I’m trying to get through it, but watching everyone’s videos is making it easier for me.

This was a relief because it's nice to see what the future will be without being all "dust & air" -- quite do-able! I'd like to learn how you prepare your pot roast. Sounds silly, but I've never made one. Thanks again for another great video! I posted your Amazon one on our hospital private FB support group!

Thank you so much for sharing! I make the laziest pot roast ever - but it's delicious. I get the Tyson Ready for the Slow Cooker pot roast that comes with chopped vegetables and a spice mix. I put a bit of bone broth (about half the carton) in the crockpot, put the roast in put the veggies on top and then I mix the spice packet with the rest of the carton of bone broth and pour it over the top of the veggies/roast. I set it on Low and cook for 9-10 hours (depending on how thick the roast is). Delicious!

@@nicoleislosingit OMGosh, I think I could even do that! LOL Who knew Tyson was such a genius to create such a thing!? Found it in my Aldi grocery store app & it's only $12.99! Well, that's months and months away, but gives hope! Thank you!

I am about a week and a half out from gastric bypass. Your videos helped to make me comfortable with having surgery. I had a wonderful doctor and the surgery went well. I have to tell you that yesterday I made your cheesecake pudding. (I tried it well before surgery and it helped with the pre-surgery weight loss). I love that stuff, and I feel like I'm really having a treat. Thanks!

I'm feeling overwhelmed thinking of things to eat post-op, so this was VERY helpful. Like you, I don't really enjoy cooking. This makes me feel much better. I think you did great.

I'm going to see the doctor on Wednesday. I had to take care of things before my surgery. So, hopefully I'm close to the next step. I have my surgery in May 2024....I have started the process with the blood work, getting all the paperwork in order and orientation.

Thanks, Nicole! I’m so glad you’re still sharing your journey. I’m seven weeks post-op vsg and am struggling with stress eating. I’m a teacher and am beginning to notice that’s where my triggers are now that school has started again. I know you’re a nurse and wonder if this happens to you, as well, and how do you combat that temptation to snack. (Cheese-Its have been the culprit lately, probably because of the salt) By the way…you are doing great with your protein and water intake !! 😊
@nicoleislosingit
@nicoleislosingit 11 месяцев назад
Yes, stress is a trigger for me, too. And I will be honest - I have fallen back into some bad snacking habits lately. I have found that if I eat enough at meals and then wait an hour before drinking anything, my stomach seems to better register feeling full and I don't get so snack-y. My problem is I snack in place of meals and don't eat enough at once for my stomach to register I'm full and then I drink too soon and wash all the food down, making my stomach empty again. So my stomach isn't able to send the "full" signal to my brain at any point. It's a constant work in progress, but we've got this!

Thanks for sharing! My journey starts in 2 weeks and I'm ordering the tester spoons and toddler silverware. My biggest fear is continuing my habit of eating too fast and too much at one time. Your idea will be a tool to help retrain my brain.

Don't beat yourself up - we are all different and your body is still adjusting to its new normal. Some days it feels like my stomach is back to its pre-surgery size and I get worried about how much I'm able to eat. My nutritionist said it is normal and to just slow down and wait for fullness cues. But, then there are days when I really feel the restriction and can't eat much. I just try to take it day by day, making sure I get in my protein before other foods.

@@nicoleislosingit I do have days like that as well where I can hardly eat and others where Im raising an eyebrow at whether I had surgery lol although when Ive tracked my food on those days its still around 1200 calories. Ive been using your ideas and its been helpful. Thank you for your videos :)

Before my rny surgery, i bought the bariatric fusion orange multivitamin chews and they werent bad, but after surgery when i got home, the thought of taking the chews turned my stomach, so i ended up having to switch to the bariatric fusion capsules, which i love. One a day and no flavors. I have to buy calcium tho which is ok. Beats having to take those chews haha. Almost 11 months out. EeeK!

Hi! Just an fyi my nutritionist said that collagen Vital protein is not a complete protein. I tried it for hair and asked if it counted towards protein goal and she said no.... in case ur counting towards ur protein goal. Also its 32 bux at Sams club. I couldn't stand it but i may try again using my drink flavored packets!

Thanks for sharing. Were you able to drink all of the copycat lemonade drink? Also, curious why you choose PB2 over real peanut butter? I'll be having surgery early 2024 so just learning as much as I can!
@nicoleislosingit
@nicoleislosingit 11 месяцев назад
I usually drink about 3/4 of it. :) The PB2 has 50 calories per 2T compared to 180-190 calories per 2T in real peanut butter. That's my real deciding factor between the two - I think they taste similar once the powder is reconstituted.

Hi I have a question, how are you able to only rely on one supplement? I thought that the iron and calcium had to be separate because they block each other out ?
@nicoleislosingit
@nicoleislosingit 8 месяцев назад
Typically, iron and calcium need to be taken separately. I'm not exactly sure how the formulation in the Bariatric Fusion vitamins are able to combine both successfully, but my labs are perfect, so it seems to be working out. I still make sure to eat my yogurt an hour after taking the vitamins so it doesn't interfere with the iron, but I'm not sure that is even necessary. I should probably ask the doctor how it works because your question has made me curious...

I've been told it helps to put the fork/spoon etc down between bites and chew each bite 20X. I know at least one guy complained that his food was cold halfway through. I can see how that would be an issue. I guess one could reheat depending on what it was. 🤔

@omadjourney

@@nicoleislosingitso if you were eating these amounts you would have lost without needing surgery? I'm asking because I fast 20 hours a day and try to eat well but I'm not losing at all, so I'm left with no choice but to have surgery this summer...I'm just tired of being tired.

@@omadjourneyher type of surgery also bypasses part of your intestines and stomach so your body doesn't absorb nutrients like it used to.
@omadjourney
@omadjourney 3 месяца назад
@@veronicavatter6436 oh okay... gotcha. Thanks for explaining it to me as it's really a rabbit hole I'm deep into. I've saved money to have surgery this coming Christmas but I've just joined the gym as I'd like to exhaust that option and know I fully tried before going this route...as surgery will be my last option.
