The information you shared here about maintaining weight is priceless and reassuring. I have lost an alarming ton of weight being high raw. I will definitely use your methods in firm hopes I will put back on healthy weight. My deepest gratitude, Whitney. Blessings! ❤
This is a great video!! I was raw for four months and lost a ton of weight. The reason why is because I kept my fat intake lower (up to 50 g) and tried not to exceed that. I also worked out by doing strength training 4-5 times per week. If you are wanting to maintain your weight, moderate fats. If you’re wanting to lose, higher carb and lower in fats. If you want to gain, higher fats. When I did it, I wanted to lose weight, so I did t whatever I could to stretch the fat I used and I avoided gourmet raw, as that’s typically higher in fat!
Thank You, I am 40 days into my vegan journey and moving towards only raw. Since I was a meat eater and am obese, and now choosing to eat only vegan, listening to what You have shared is very helpful. I really appreciate You!!!
You should make 2 cook books. One for ppl who want to gain weight and one for ppl who want to loose weight. My go-to has been sunflower seed butter and 🍓 jelly 🥪 to help me to gain/maintain weight bc my metabolism is fast. Im finally 120+ lbs. Too much butters can lead to gassyness, though.
I appreciate your honesty on gaining weight! It seems like so many vegans/raw vegans say it is the solution to lose weight and maintain weight loss but I am like you and my family is on the heavier side. I've never been small and gain weight easily.
Right! Being vegan/raw to lose weight would require more of a low fat and carb diet temporarily until the weight drops, and have a balanced diet between the two once you get to your target weight.
I loved this video. It was so soothing and easy like Sunday morning. Also it showed you don’t have to meet a formula to be raw. Creativity is a premium.
I could cry. I just moved to the Kennesaw area. With hypothyroidism I technically can’t do soy. So veganism, the way it’s always been presented, was always out of the question. Until this.. seeing a fellow lady crushing her wellness lifestyle without it and being healthy is super inspiring. I’m starting my wellness journey after years of endless searches and zero answers as to how to feel well with hypothyroidism. My body has always craved veggies and fruits and seeing it attainable helps me feel like I can also feel good. Thank you Whitney! New sub and a ton of thanks for your inspiring content and energy. I hope you have the best year!
I am.trying to get raw since 1 year with ups and downs and you encourage me to do a juicefast for the start.I love how authentic you show yourself and your lovely daughter❤Greetings from Austria Verena ❤
I feel like the gaining or losing of weight also depends on your starting weight. If you’re heavily overweight (like me) and you drastically cut down on highly processed foods and switch them out for raw foods you will probably have an easier time losing weight than someone starting off at a more average or smaller weight that already has a relatively healthy diet. It is also definitely important to pay attention to over-indulging in things like nuts, for sure. I’ve maintained between 20-25 lbs of weight loss for a year and I know that actually staying raw WOULD get me past this plateau but lordy I have such a hard time sticking to it
Thank you .. needed to hear this. I'm considered obese and I'm currently on a juice cleanse. I've been reading so many comments saying not to do it because you gain all the weight back. It makes me second guess everything. I'm not only doing it for weight loss though
This is the BEST video hands down about how food effect each of us differently and you did this through your own experience. I am naturally smaller I have been vegan for 7 yrs and I did find I CAN do raw vegan but I do have to have calorie dense foods as well and I found that out real quick! 😂 So what I do is eat raw the majority of the day. I may have 1 or 2 snacks that is calorie dense and almost always have a calorie dense dinner. I lift heavy, and do Pilates and yoga so I have calorie dense foods and proteins after my workouts. I would literally disappear if I ate all raw 😩 but raw is definitely a good way to give our bodies a reset and a break from heavy dense foods. Thank you for making this video 🤍
What an awesome video! Beautifully shot. The best I have ever felt is being raw vegan. I try to incorporate it into my current diet everyday. Just made a yummy smoothie before I watched this
Hello Whitney and Happy Birthday! I have been watching you since the end of last year and decided to do a 100 day juice fast this past February. It really helped me so much and I must say thank you for all of your advice on juicing and going raw!! I always thought it would one be easy(which it was not at first) and I could lose tons of weight going raw(but quickly found out thats soooo not true)!!! Once again continue with your great advice!
Wow! I like how you ate your lettuce and suace separately like that! Made me think of chips and dip but healthier. I love your insights, i didn't realize it could be so easy to gain weight on a raw vegan diet. Loving your content 💖 Have a lovely day!
Yes I'm a raw vegan and yesssss u can gain weight. The best advice I can give is count calories, know what ur calorie max is and plan plan plan ur meals. Oh eat simple as possible and save gourmet meals for special occassions 🙂
I’m getting ready to eat raw vegan for 40 days and I’m so glad I found your page! Very motivating! Also, is there a link for the stand/phone holder you’re using in the video to record your content?
I am on November birthday as well (21st) here in Michigan It was 35° in gloomy. We celebrated days before with a sunny hike and when it came to my birthday I laid low and had some tea in front of the fire. It was my first raw birthday so I definitely wanted to do something special. I started the morning with a ginger blast juice. Then I made my first raw carrot cake. I don't really like carrot cake but it turned out okay. I also had a nice giant salad with some good avocado which really was a treat.
Hello, new to your channel. I did a 21 day raw challenge and it 13lbs. That was great but the best part is I felt 100% better with more clarity. I walk and dance 30 minutes daily. I mentioned earlier I back slid for a few days and felt 😩 Back to the simple life lol all raw. It works for me. Great vlogs😊
You're right about the possibility of weight gain on a raw vegan diet. Saw another raw vegan RU-vidr gaun weight on this kind of diet. It really is about watching what you eat and exercise.
Happy belated birthday! Thanks for sharing about the calorie dense foods and gaining weight. I lost and am still losing about 13 pounds after a detox. My clothes are so big on me now. I’m going to look into foods to gain weight.
Hi Whitney! Happy Birthday! How do you get through the holidays on a Raw Vegan Diet? I'm getting ready to start but I think I may wait until after the holidays. Is it hard to be with family while they are eating cooked food?
What food was that that your cat ate? D: I have the pickiest kittens and it looked like something they would actually eat. Also, just came across your channel and love it
Hallo Whitney, Happy Birthday! I really loved this video because as always you were sincere and true. I have been vegan for over 6 years now and you constantly inspire me to incorporate more raw foods every day. Thank you and sending you love and light from Germany 🙂
I’ve been raw vegan for 9 months now, plant based vegan for 12 years! As the cold winter days are coming for me very soon, what tricks & tips do you have to stay warm?? This is when I fail! I’m always raw vegan until the winter comes around but this year, I’d love to maintain this raw vegan lifestyle since I feel so amazing!! Hoping you could make a video on this topic!! Thank you so much!🍓🍉🥭🥕🥬🍇🥑🧡🤩🧚♀️💕💃🫶🙏🥰✨
I love your videos! new subscriber here. I'm a raw vegan also & I think regarding the weight issue is you consume a higher fat raw vegan diet which most raw vegans are on a lower fat diet so they lose weight. im not saying either is better than the other. I would love to see your macros & calories & vitamins/mienrals on the cronometer apap as I'm always up for tweaking things on this lifestyle it will give a good idea to others too. Loved how you film also! Made me feel like I can do this! You just use your phone & tripod! Amazing. Do you film just on your phones camera or do you use an app to film?
Food tastes better when you eat with your hands. An Islamic man taught me that. He was absolutely right, it’s different. Makes me question who told us we need to eat with utensils and why.. anyway beautiful video
Adding tons of healthy fats (nuts, nut butters, avocados) and dried fruit (dates) will definitely put on weight when you're on a raw food diet. For me to maintain the weight I've lost, and still be able to eat as much as I want, I have to keep my fats low. For me, that is the key to maintenance without feeling deprived because I make up the extra calories in fruit. I do have fats daily, but in very small amounts no more than 10% of my total calories for the day. I am able to eat over 2000 calories daily, so I'm not starving by any means, but too much fats, for most of us, will not give us the results we want, and that's the truth.
I love the True Food Kitchen in Alpharetta. 😊 You remind me I can enjoy their raw options... also, I definitely know what it's like with kiddos. Lol I usually spend my birthday cash on them. ❤ Lovely video. I'll have to try the eggplant toast. New sub.
Hello Whitney! I am new to your channel. I follow a bunch of vegan channels. Have for years. My daughter has been vegan now for about 6 years or so. I love vegetables and eat probably 90 percent of them for my diet. I am hoping to be able to eventually eat nothing but whole food plant based. This is my goal at least. That soursop tea that you made, where do you get soursop from and how do you make that? I have heard about the benefits of that last night in the comments section on another channel... Thank you for sharing this video and I look forward to watching more of them. Lisa
thanks for this info 💛 i just went from vegan to raw vegan.. to try it for a month and after 8 days like there is no signs of losing weight.. all the other youtubers eat so much and are so skinny but yeah i thought i will be losing weight no matter if i eat a lot of bananas and things like that heh but that is disappointing to know that this diet won't do that just so easily :) but i do feel much better at least :)
Thank you so much for your Videos!I wish you all best for your birthday afterwards🎉❤Please what do you take as bread ..I didnt understand🙈 ...Best greetings Verena..Just startet my juice fast inspired by you❤Thank you so much for taking the fear from fruit juices!!!❤
