Bio -
Phil Daru is the Head trainer for some of the top athletes in the world and creator of Daru Strong Training Systems and founder of Daru Strong Performance Center. Daru has degrees in sports medicine and exercise science from Alabama State University where he played division 1 football. Holding certifications with Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) Functional Range Movement Specialist (FRCms) and Kabuki Movement Specialist (NSCA-KMS).
Daru then began a career in MMA and turned professional at 21 years old where he then developed his own systems for training fighters. Daru has also competed in strongman, bodybuilding, and Bjj Gi and No Gi and currently competes in powerlifting. He has worked with well over 200 plus fighters including world champions like Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Dustin Poirier, Edson Barboza, Junior Dos Santos, Frankie Edgar, Tecia Torres, King Mo Lawal, Andrei Arlovski and many others. Coach Daru is a two time award winning Trainer of the Year for the Florida MMA Awards and Nominated for the Trainer of the Year for the World MMA Awards. He has been globally recognized for his contributions in combat sports performance and has traveled to over 10 countries teaching and mentoring. I'm so sorry for blowing up your comments, but you are the newest youtube sensation for me, especially since you're in FL too. It's really helping me to see someone do the same things, routines and how they do it all. Apparently we eat the same portions, breakfast and dinners. Huge shout out to you for instilling motivation in me to not give up. I feel like I'm in a circle lately, between work life and trying to improve my overall fitness.

It would be a dream to have that guy as a coach I have been doing karate, Krav Maga and boxing since 7 years I never had a good coach mostly doing all the research and training by myself I had a lot of injury because I was training to hard and I didn’t have a good coach to fix my limits this year I will make my transition to mma I hope I will have a good coach it’s so important 💪🏼

Wow i feel that. Yeah finding a coach that CARES is hard. Coaches around me just wanna run basic fitness classes and i can't find a coach that wants to actually train people professionally in my area. Hope things work for you MMA fellow warrior!

I believe hydrostatic weighting is the most accurate when it comes down to repeatability.

I've tried to count caloric intake of those meals and got result of aprox. 2500 kcal. I know you said, you dont count calories. But do you think it is close to reality? I am trying to compare it to mine intake, cause i am struggling with fat loss(cant get under 20%) and i am bit worried about cutting calories even more, actually I doubt that I cant lose fat cause of too low caloric intake. But yours intake seems to me pretty low, compared to your weight and body composition. Thx for answer, if you'll find time for it. I am big fan of yours, thanks for content you share, best ever. Yea I’d say that’s about right.. remember my goal is to be in a caloric deficit for the next 4 weeks for cutting. Then I’ll take it back up to 3500.

Hi coach, I've seen how other fighters eat and I'm shocked at how little you eat, I've no idea how you train and maintain muscle on 3 tiny dinners with few carbs. I'm glad you don't eat meat non stop like some do. Not good for you. Nice to get a tiny peek at Mrs. Duru....her laughter said it all.... She is a happy woman.

It's all about different body types. My dad was big and ate less than me but lifted a lot more than me and everything. He was about 185lbs, after losing over 300bls. On the other hand, I'm a toothpick and I eat alot more than most ppl.

Fat and carbs is not ideal. The carbs spike insulin, then you absorb the fat into your cells. Fat with protein, or, carbs with protein, fat and carbs separate is what I've been taught.

That is just pure bro science. If anything, the fat and the fiber in the apple and nuts will cause slower digestion.
