‘I’m not really a dessert person..’ *2 seconds later eating an apple pastry and then getting excited about the cheesecake* hahahaha! I love that! Lol. I hope you’re feeling better soon! Xx
Hi Romee. I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this. Know that you are doing so much for so many people. I have referred so many people to your videos. Your attitude is so healthy, so real, so lovely.
I also shave my hair as soon as it starts falling out, people dont understand how irritating it is when it gets all over your clothes & not to mention trying to rinse off in the shower. Stay strong brave girl.
Hello...that hospital food actually looks pretty decent....smart you have the supplement and snacks. Hoping time moves along fast and the end is in sight. Thanks for sharing this.
I know some people with cancer absolutely hate it if someone else shaves their heads for "them." They don't like it themselves that they loose their hair and do not want anyone to feel what they are feeling. Just my experience.
You are so darling and sweet to share updates so regularly while going through so much. I know there are many people pulling for you, and we are so happy to see these videos and know that you are feeling up to sharing. I hope this hospital stay goes by as fast as possible.
It's great to see you eating, despite the mouth sores. Thanks for sharing with all of us how you are doing. Sending you tons of positive energy from Vermont.
The hospital food in Maine General hospital was very good. That really kept me going, full menu with choices and different sandwiches if you didn’t want one of the entrees. Even lobster rolls if you wanted . This is Maine after all. Still there no place like home.
I'm struggling so much with food lately. Nothing tastes right and nothing sounds good. It's nice to hear other people have the same struggles with chemo.
Try cinnamon on porridge (oatflakes). As Romee says salt or spices can make food more palatable. In regular life I do not like salty foods. Grilled bacon or sausage, omelette. Best of luck xxx
When I was getting chemo I couldn't stand hot food. The smell got to me. Believe it or not, I really craved sushi (vegetarian only!) Nice and cold and fresh.
Hi Romee, l just love the way you have handle everything you’ve been through. Wishing you the best you Deserve it. Thank you for sharing all your videos of everything. My son is starting his chemo today August 2 and his stem cells transplant is on August 9. Your videos help me with everything my son is going to have done. Thank you so much. God Bless you.
Loved seeing your food diet in the hospital. More choices than I had when I was in the hospital. And a refrigerator too!! Yay!❤️ Stay strong because I know you’ve got this.
You have such a great attitude! You see the humor in things and seem so happy despite what you're going through. That's such a good thing. You feel better sharing your journey. Thank you for doing that. You're on my prayer list each night. I hope you go home soon.
A fridge in a hospital room! That’s really nice. Eggs are good quality protein. I was in the hospital recently for scary blood clots. I loved their chef salad because it had hard cooked eggs on it.
You've been going through a lot Romee but you have been uplifting all the way through, as well as beautiful, with or without hair. Your inner beauty comes from within and really shines through.. Best wishes always. 😊
Now I know why you have an exotic look! You are half Indonesian! Beautiful! I am 60 years old and I find myself complaining about so many things... and then I see your videos. You are strong. You have an amazing character and you have a wonderful sense of humour. You could complain non stop about your condition. There's so much you can say. But you don't. You teach us quite a lesson Romee. Thank you for showing me to stop my complaining and to appreciate what I have. BTW, hair or no hair, you are beautiful. I hope you slept well 🙏♥️
Prayers and blessings for you from Boston! You are truly an inspirational young woman. Your strength, courage and faith in a positive outcome will see you through this challenge. All the best to you.
I send you Loves and hugs from Indonesia, keep strong Romee, i’ve been watching your videos since i have breast cancer, i’m on chemo now, still fighting it, thank you for such and inspirational videos you made, your spirit, you gave positive vibes to people, thank you so much, and i pray for you that you get through all of this, be strong, you can do it!!!
I hope your treatment is successful and that you feel pretty good while you're going through it. I was in your shoes 4 years ago so I know how you feel!
Chemo tounge is a real thing. I remember chicken tasted like rubber, and even pizza tasted strange. I also remember my hair started to fall out waiting in line at the bank. Fun cancer memories. I love your attitude, keep strong!
Romee, you are such an amazing inspiration. I’m currently at home recovering from head and neck cancer, chemo and radiotherapy. I really appreciate your honestly in sharing your experiences. Xx
I am so happy to watch all of your videos! I'm an American that visits The Netherlands from time-to-time. I do not like American black licorice but I love Dutch licorice! Especially those candies that are half fruit and half licorice.
Hey romee Thx so much for letting us have a glimpse of your daily hospital life! Please let ur doctors know you eat licorice regularly since it can mess up your electrolytes and medication! ;) Stay strong
All dutch people are brought up speaking two languages at school and universities are all in English in Amsterdam I get spoken to in English and answer in dutch plus most tv is in English and has been under titled and most times not very good plus Romee has traveled that helps
@@lucilletenhove3116 I am aware of that. But being able to be so coherent in two languages during and soon after strong chemotherpy is rare. And she is doing great!
I was in hospital recently for a month. I’m Coeliac , Vegetarian and suffer from Diverticulosis . I saw a Dietician who went through a range of options. I received none of them . But all I received , was a baked potato which was often raw with grated cheese , for lunch and dinner for month . Lol! The normal menu wasn’t great either as patients didn’t eat and those who could afford it , ordered take out. The hospital food looks really good in Holland . That cheesecake looked amazing ! New sub . Am enjoying your vids! 🙂😊
So happy that you've been receiving good news for your health lately. It's a ton to go through, but I am praying for full success and health restored. That's the best hospital food I've ever seen!
Love your effortless presentations. Who would have thought a vid on hospital food could be that interesting? Yes the worst part of long term hospital stays is the noise and 24 /7 blood pressure checks but your right hospital food is not that bad any more
Remoulade is the word we use in English in the States. I don’t know what it means, ingredient-wise, but the word is the same. The bag of nutrition in the port or the PICC we call “TPN,” or Total Parenteral Nutrition. Enteral nutrition goes into the digestive tract in some way (you eat it, use a tube to the stomach, etc). Parenteral means through the vein, skips the digestive tract. It’s SUPER expensive here, and pharmacists hate making it. Your cheesecake looked amazing, btw. Hugs!
you're so strong and inspiring! wishing the best for u 💞 also the hospital food actually looks decent :D really neat to have a mini fridge in your hospital room too
You're probably one of the few people in the world who looks good with a shaved head . I'm glad it didn't upset you. You have so many indignities you have to endure but you always do it with a smile. I admire you so much. 😍
Nice you mentioned your parents, we wonder if they are near or far from you. You are wealthy with loyal friends, lucky lady in so many ways. I believe what you put out comes back from the universe. Sisters in cancer from Florida. 🦋💛💛🦋
You look great today(s)! It is really good to see you in good(ish) health and improving. I felt your excitement about that cheesecake and I hope it was as delicious as it looked :-)
Happy to see you were updating. You need to know that you stay on my mind after the videos. Keeping you in prayer. God bless you for your honesty, humor and beautiful smile! You could be my 3rd daughter! Take care
So happy to see your beautiful face. You are an inspiration to all of us. Happy to hear you are doing well. Yes chemo tongue & mouth is a real thing. Thank you for the update.
We call them Apple Turnovers in the UK! I love how you said you didn't have a sweet tooth and then proceeded to enjoy one of the sweetest pastries you can get!! 😄 Glad to see you're keeping your spirits up! Take care 💜
it´s so important to eat well :-) Your Body is doing a hard job and your Brain too - so they need Nutrions and Calories! And it´s always a perfekt Day if you "find" a Cake in your Fridge!
Romee ur amazing love watching u despite what ur going thru ur amazing u give love and encouragement to other people that are going thru this love to see ur video when u are cancer free i have followed u from day one ur in my prayers all the time every day
Hello from Canada. You are so cute. Glad to see your sense of humor is intact. Keep smiling and keep your mental health strong. You will get through this.
I totally agree when I'm in hospital the food when it comes looks bad but the taste is really good!! Had some lovely meals in hospital and I am a fussy eater!
I’m laying on my bed watching this with my sweet cat Mario 🐈⬛. He has cancer too (lymphoma) and he takes chemo pills 2ce a week. He had an ultrasound not too long ago. And it showed no more signs of cancer. But he has to take the cancer drugs for a couple more months to make sure it doesn’t come back.
Hi sweet Romee! Melon was what helped sooth my mouth sores as well. I’ll be doing my double mastectomy Wednesday Aug 4 and I’m hopefully done with chemo I pray for good. I’m praying for you sweet friend and anyone else dealing with cancer 💜
Romee, you're amazing. I'm on a chemo vacation for a bit but decided your hospital food offers better options than mine! Too bad the US to the Netherlands is such a long commute for lunch! It's great that you can eat and are interested in food. One drug I was on drastically altered my sense of smell and taste and, though I've been off it for several years, they never quite returned to normal. The cancer I have is very rare and is one of those "treatable but incurable" things so having this chemo-cation is a nice break. Keep the inspiration coming for the rest of us!
I'm not a huge licorice fan, but Dutch licorice is very good! Kibbeling is definitely Dutch (never saw it in Germany when I lived there), but we have similar things in the USA. We eat it with tartar sauce, which is basically mayonnaise with sweet pickle relish... Probably similar to the remoulade that you had.
I think that sauce with your fish was what we call tartar sauce. It's mayonnaise based with Chopped up dill pickle and dill. Yummy. That cheese cake look fantastic.
I'm so happy you're feeling ok and everything seems to be working 🤞 you look stunning! Happy the boil eggs help and a really good tip for people going through chemo. May I suggest pineapple (of any kind whether fresh or tin) and pineapple juice. My dad said it taste do nice whilst going through chemo and helped massively with the mouth sores. Apparently pineapple helps with mouth hygiene....who knew! Take care and keep getting stronger beautiful lady. Sending love and healing thoughts from the UK xxxxx
It’s all interesting...this journey you are on. I love to hear about the differences (nothing in particular-just the differences) between Dutch, British English and American English. You are a very intriguing person. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
