Actually it looks like Julia is using COCONUT kefir, not traditional milk kefir which all of Scandinavia used for centuries for their health. I really don't think that the plant based stuff is as potent or even healthy than fermented dairy -- if someone is lactose intolerant the fermenting makes it tolerable! So enjoy the real milk products (yogurt, kefir and some cottage cheese -- yum)

All plants inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. The only difference is that green plants use carbon dioxide for the photosynthesis and release oxygen as a result of it. When there's no sunlight (for instance, during the *night* ) photosynthesis is not possible, so the plants just breathe. Regarding the pronunciation, kefir is pronounced with letter "e" like in the word "let" and "fir" is pronounced similar to "fear", only shorter.

The amount of water to grow almonds thing is so overblown. There are foods that take a lot more water and are much worse for the environment. Also how much water it takes to grow the massive amount of vegetables she eats people probably would save a lot of water, land and gas to replace those calories with almonds.

@@juliaayers111 I am sorry - it was the way I wrote the 'a' - but it is Vitamin A toxicity. Dr. Garret Smith (nutritiondetective) speaks of it. Many of us vegans are realizing that it might actually be the culprit on why some people don't stay vegan. They are eating too much Vit A (easy to do in northern climates). I noticed your diet is heavy vit A....so I am sending you a heads up. I was on accutane (MEGA Vit A) so I definitely have had it - but I have adjusted my diet to reduce Vit A and it has helped immensely. It is pretty easy to adjust...might play around with it and see if you notice any differences.

@juliaayers111 2 года назад
I would like to highlight the fact eating “enough” is different for every person. The difference between 50 calories can be enough for someone to loose or gain weight over time when they are trying to eat the same amount everyday. If someone is worried about eating “enough” they need to talk to their doctor/dietitian/nutritionist to get the accurate number for them, not listen to / read things on the internet that tell them what is enough / not enough
@emilyfeldman8788
@emilyfeldman8788 2 года назад
@@juliaayers111 i agree that eating 'enough' is different for everyone. i am not suggesting people count calories, but our culture doesn't advocate for a sustainable, healthy amount. this isn't about weight but what your body needs to function. what is 'standard' for calorie recommendations is insufficient for most people. also yes, talk to a professional (ensuring you are seeing a HAES, anti-diet aligned practitioner), but there is also sufficient science to back the idea that AT LEAST 2000 is optimum.

@A No actually, but I looked it up and it says that it is yogurt and water and maybe salt. That is like lassi. But kefir is different. It has kefir bacteria not lactobaccilus and acidophilus like yogurt. Different bacteria create different things. And kefir is made from milk and ayran is made from yogurt. Not the same.

@A And beyond your protests, I commented on her pronounciation since hse purchased kefir and pronounced it two different ways. Your comment didn't address any of that and ignored what she purchased.
