When this video got suggested to me, I saw it had very few views and I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality. I could have not been more wrong. Excellent video Erika and I hope your channel grows!
I had no real reason to watch this being Dutch myself, I just really liked the way you put this together. Well edited, funny and pleasant voice over. Mooi gedaan!
Also the part about the lunch is true! Even years after living in Australia, I eat a salad for lunch but my Dutch dad only eats bread, cheese, mustard and ham
I will be studying abroad in the Netherlands next year, so I have been investigating a little about it. From all the videos I have seen in this process, this has been by far one of the best ones. I was impressed when I realized it had few likes, I hope your channel gets the recognition it deserves. This video was excellent! Congratulations!!
As a person from Ukraine, that now lives in Netherlands during 8 month (because of war) , I can definitely say, that all what was in this video -true. (Especially sirens every first Monday of month, for Ukrainian this sound a bit scary😶😶😶)
I'm going to study in the Netherlands from September and this video made me feel much less scared about the new environment and all the other stuff. thx so much
@@devb.8708 i managed to get into TUE in Eindhoven but the housing situation is so horrible that I don't even know if I'll manage to find anything before starting the studies :(
@@3lea.strato sadly not :( I decided I'm going to study in my home country due to lack of housing in the Netherlands. Still hoping to at least visit one day. how about u?
@@maciejkicinski3234 Oh, i am sorry to hear that you werent able to get a place. I hope you are doing well studying where you are now! I'm sure it is all worth-while. Dauwtrappen is mainly done in the eastern provinces of the Netherlands. Not on the first of may but on ascention day. (allways a thursday, 39 days after easter)
thanx to youtube algorithm... I think Erika you know how to catch the trendy taste with your colored and I feel your integrity with videos. Go Erika Go!
This is perfection. Informative, funny, Kurtis Conner. And the editing. THE EDITING. Thank you! I am going to study in the Netherlands this fall and this is the most helpful video about the country that I have ever seen! You are absolutely amazing!!
i can see so much effort and passion put into this video, you clearly had fun making it and it shows. planning to study in the netherlands with my mom, Looks nice 👍
I’ve been needing help with choosing where I should study and I stumbled to your video. i knew i could trust your word because of the Kurtis Conner line in the beginning. Thank you!
Very entertaining, Erica, nicely done. You did a good job of compressing your 1,5 yr experience in a few minutes! I think you have our country down very well😉👍!
Awesome work on the editing and animation, great pacing, and just overall a good video! p.s. Loving someone else talk about the area I grew up in (born in Borne, high school in Hengelo then Saxion)
@@fakedoorsfordinner1677 regional thing and for humans it's not that much of a problem onley when it comes to your teeth, need to be cleaned more. Appliances however............a whole other story
Nice editing and overall entertaining video. At the beginning was getting ready for a 30 minute video, eating dessert and the whole shebang, nevertheless, was fun enough to write a comment about it
I am from Oldenzaal, a small city near Enschede so this was definitely an interesting video to watch from an outsider’s perspective, and because everything is so true!! 😂
Regarding food, a good thing to note is that we also eat a lot of foreign food. Mostly dishes with rice, but also food influenced by our former colonies. But in terms of traditional foods the video is correct.
By watching the video I assume that she spent time with mostly university students. Classrooms over there can have people from all over Europe or even the world. While at a college you see that less often. So I think that's how she met up with people that happen to be more multilingual then the Average Dutchman.
@@sevendam9070 The average university graduate can speak fluently Dutch and English and some french/german. Spanish is thought only recently in most high schools. Other languages like Russian or Manderin are considerate rare and most Dutch (including me) will be impressed if you're born in the Netherlands and speak these languages fluently.
This is Exactly the side of the Netherlands I’m moving to 😂 Thanks for mentioning the Siren 🚨 and also such a coincidence that u were/are studying in Saxion ( it’s were i was about to go back in 2013 but i ended up going somewhere else )
Love ur videos and such amazing editing!! Found ur videos as on holiday in Netherlands and found the groceries videos but now binge watching the rest!:)) new sub here ..😍
Maybe a suprise for everybody. The Haque is not a city. They sold the city license long ago. 7:24 you do need a vendor permit. But they dont controle it that much.
In Czechia, there is the same testing of public warning sirens at noon on the first Wednesday of every month. Scared the hell out of me the first time I experienced it...
Not the Dopper 😭 I study at an International university in the Netherlands, and am Dutch myself. Once, me and my Dutch friends all sat in a row in a lecture hall, and you could tell that all the Dutchies sat in our row, as we all had a Dopper on our desks.
I am dutch. I like this video. It fun to see our culture from a foreign view point. I do have to admit i have never heard of red head day though and I am a red head lol. It was fun to see your responce to hagelslag or as you call it toppings. A friend of mine whoes from Boston had the same responce
Lol in a month I’m going to start studying abroad in Dornbirn, Austria with erasmus (in that uni where u did your studies and I had watched ur videos before applying there :o) and after that the next semester I want to apply to this very university in the Netherlands Saxion and look, u did ur studies there too😦 I guess destiny will let me apply again and win the nomination😂 wish me luck :D
