I truly believe everyone can learn and grow from therapy. I wanted to share a few lessons I learned throughout my journey and also share my 3 non-negotiables for having a good day. What are yours?
@cheimawithane4700

I recognized some traits and aspects of myself in your explanation. Being bicultural can make us questionning ourself on our identity so mush in my opinion. This stress "worthy" matter is also very present in my life. For me the non negociable 1. moving (walk,yoga or quick workout) 2. Cooking session 3. Creating (paint journaling drawing)

This was so vulnerable of you to share. It was really nice seeing pictures of your family from back then as well. We often forget that our parents are human beings, while they were raising us, they were also just figuring things out themselves. I'm sure your parents are proud of you--not just because of your accomplishments, but because of how you grew up to be a genuinely amazing human being.

There are SO many wonderful things to learn in therapy about ourselves, family, and the world. The most precious gift is that when we dig really deep, we can find that we had the answer all along and that is a testament to our authentic, unique self. Sometimes we just need someone to help us find our way. Your subscriber, A Clinical Psychologist

Therapy taught me: • how connected the physical is to the mental/emotional • that my need to be seen and heard is paramount to anything else • to take care of both my feminine and masculine energies • that trauma gets stored in the body, and needs to be released

Jenn - you sharing this is such a huge relief. Sometimes it feels like my mom is the only “immigrant mom” that has such an incredibly hard time trying new things, namely driving on the freeway! Such a reassurance to see a common thread among the fabric of the sometimes complicated relationships we share with our parents.

Thanks for being so honest and open! Our parents have a much more challenging life than we do. Most of them came to America without knowing English and with very little to no money. They tried their best to raise us and they are only human. It’s good to reflect on their actions and recognize how you can be different when you have a child.

i love this video Jenn!❣️ from my personal experience with therapy i had to recognize that sometimes i need breaks from it. my emotional world goes very deep and sometimes i get pulled too far one way and all i can focus on are the dark unhealed parts lingering inside me. i recently started going back to therapy due to family trauma being uncovered again but i recognize it as a privilege because my therapist is closeby, accepts my insurance, and is pretty compatible with my needs. i know not everyone is so lucky as it can be very expensive and inconvenient. but it truly makes such a radical difference when you start to peel back the layers of pain and your past. it’s a beautiful and terrifying journey ❤️‍🩹 lots of self-healing work is still being explored. thank you for sharing your journey!💞

Thanks for making a vid about a deep/heavy topic ! As a Korean(Im a native Korean so my Eng is not perfect btw) i could relate to lots of things esp about your parents My parents are just the same ... I used to blame my depression totally on my parents but now that im thinking back about my life overall, I was able to sort out advantages and disadvantages of being grown under such parents. I learned i should use disadvantages to bounce back and turn into my strong points. Past is just the past i cant rewind I should get over the past and think about the future It took me a long time to realize this tho it sounds very simple. Im currently on a free consultation session that my uni offers and it's helping me a lot indeed. Im like 'Why havent i done this earlier!'. Still from time to time my emotion fluctuates like a rollercoaster and id be so dramatic but every time i become like that, Im going to watch this vid as a good reminder. Im so grateful that I can watch this amazing vid for free I feel like I should pay for you somehow It's so soooooo useful and i think everyone must watch this regardless of whether you have a depression or not. It's not sth school teaches you. Thank you so much for making this vid Jen You're the best youtuber to me and I admire you a lot I live in Korea but Id like to meet you irl one day if i get a chance
