heavy line is a must, and bring plenty of leader line to retie. I usually run at least 50 pound mono leaders and check it everytime I reel in for frayed spots. The rig itself, I use mostly Carolina rigs, it's simple and you don't loose as much money. I will occasionally through in a Santee cooper rig though. We usually try and place the bait close to the structure and in the drops. Later of a night we will reel in a pole or 2 and leave it close to the bank next to rock piles. @@reelcatfishing4479 thank you very much. Living in the Texas panhandle, there ain't any rivers around. But there are lakes. One in particular close by is Lake Allen Henry. I've been told that if you want to bank fish it. Be prepared to lose a lot of tackle.

We are fishing right now in a spot where we lose tackle and we deffinatly have broke off several times tonight so far but we have caught both blues and a flathead by sticking through it. Alot of people won't fish the heavy cover areas because of losing tackle and that means there ain't a ton of fishing pressure in those spots so it's usually pretty good fishing.
