Welcome to catfishing at its funniest. I have a great passion for fishing and especially catching fresh water catfish. Come embark on the adventures of catfishing with me and enjoy the same passion I have for these amazing fish!
Your video made it seem very easy to throw a cast net. I have a 3 ft cast net coming today cannot wait to get out there and practice your technique I am an 80-year-old fisher lady
Thanks so much, going out of state where catfish might be. I already have that same tiger combo for surf perch fishing washington state coast every few years.
I'm THAT hardcore spinning guy who just got his first baitcaster for catfishing and have backlashed it almost every other cast and about to shelf it for the season before I found this video. My dude.... ❤❤ I even made sure I had my line memory synced up with the baitcast reel cuz I didn't know. 🤣 Good to know; also for you for future if you follow the memory of new line with your spinning reel your GTG, it's only when you run it backwards (the spool goes the opposite way the line turns) then it trys to "pop off" when you open the bail. Thanks again homie!! 🎣
I've got 6 or 7 peen level wind I just used for pear fishing but now practice for distance. I watch all the videos I find about distance casting . this video was a wonderful blessing thank you young man. Papa wishing you well 😊
Damn your Walmarts is actually neat, organized, and plays good music! Mine is always an ever loving wreck with sh!t scattered all over the place like a tornado or BLM riot just came through!😂😂
Just subscribed. Finally a video with levelwind reels! Love the idea you can tighten the tension knob all the way and cast without the thumb or nest because i cast 8+ oz with weight, leader+ bait in saltwater & the line physically burns my thumb as it is cast, so seeing i can cast it without the burn is fantastic. I got 100# 4 strand on my Penn Levelwind & 70# on my AG spinning reel. Casts smooth. Gonna try this technique this weekend in the yard with my Penn & see how it goes. Hope it works with no thumb or eagles nest 😂. 🤞... Thank you Sir for this video. BTW, what is that reel you have in this video?
Thanks for the lesson! We moved to Pensacola FL from Oklahoma and I'm going to start surf fishing, and this is a great video for a beginner like me. I feel much more confident going out and trying it with my Penn Squall, and I'm definitely going to use the duct tape tip until I get it down.
I remember watching this a couple years ago when I came back to catfishing, I hadn't done so in 20 years. I've migrated to really heavy fast action rods. I run my reels in free spool, let the fish run a second then click the reel locking the spool. I have no problem with circle hooks missing this way. Appreciate the information
What are your thoughts on that one that you showed that is white with yellow and black trim on the line guides? That looks like the Goture which I'm looking at on Amazon. They have that in 7 ft and 7.6 ft two piece configuration. Some people say it's a broomstick, others say it's super wobbly. Or from what you showed in yours it looks like it bends down through the middle quite a bit. I currently use the ugly stik catfish special (the new orange ones) at 8 ft length and I have one of the newer ugly stick white catfish rods in a 7-ft length. The difference between those two for me is the action on the tip. The catfish special is a moderate tip and the white ones are moderate fast. They both have medium/ heavy power. I have a love-hate relationship with them. But anyway I'd love to hear your thoughts on everything above. Thanks!
Finally someone that knows what he’s talking about. I been watching videos and nobody mentions the tension knob and you do because you know wtf your talking about 👍
I magged my reels set the tension to zero. You can then really cast that thing . The spool has to be matal not carbon fiber or plastic. Good video. I clicked the subscribe button but it didnt make me any cooler than I all ready am. 😅
That's not what the side knob on a star drag is for. The side knob is to adjust the side play on a star drag reel. You always want a slight amount of side play. Putting pressure on the spool with the knob is a good way to prematurely wear out your bearings.
Damn I think I’ve been throwing with the wrong hand 😅. I’ve been throwing it right handed, but like a frisbee, away from myself. Gonna have to try this
