This video is a basic overview of what I'm charging in 2023 to do my concrete work.
We do a lot of different types of concrete work so each type gets its own price.
The prices I'm showing you here are my general prices when someone asks for a ballpark estimate. Each job has to be looked at and priced accordingly depending on many details of that specific job.
But, these prices are my starting point for these 8 kinds of concrete jobs.
Let me know what you charge for what you do for concrete work in the comments!

Thanks for making this Video Mike. My business is over 95% repeat and referrals. Many of my concrete jobs have alot of preparation work and can be complicated. Factoring trucking, equipment, disposal, etc. cost can be difficult sometimes. I still have to be careful with my pricing. It takes time to build a good reputation. It doesn't take much time ruin it.

Hey Mike. You guys do the fine grading and plate compaction, correct? Those prices are similar to MN. Giving SF prices can be tricky - a lot of residential projects we do come down to ease of access. That tends to be the biggest factor in pricing. If you can't get heavy equipment in the yard or need to pump over a house type thing. Thanks for sharing!

In Texas, it is customary to use #4 rebar and a vapor barrier for house foundations, typically costing between $3.50 and $4.25. However, due to circumstances in 2022 and 2023, we had to raise the price to $5.. Now, in order to work, we have had to return to our previous pricing.

I am a contractor in mid coast Maine and started doing my own concrete years ago and watched all your videos. I do icf forms on slabs with radiant tubes ECT. Your videos gave us the confidence to tackle these jobs but I had to figure my own pricing out. According to this video my pricing is the same as yours but you guys do a better job at finishing and I've never done any stamping or staining. Maybe in the future 😅 thanks for a great education over the years I owe it to you.

@@raystraining3206 getting the ICF blocks has been a challenge. Now I stock a trailer load at all times. Can be 1-3 months waiting for fox blocks or usually quicker with logic blocks. If you have never poured a form wall, don't let your first be ICF. I always use pump truck for controlled placement. I won't take regular form jobs anymore only ICF.

We work in central pa and our price on concrete is around $155 -170... We average 4.25 per square foot for basements @ 3.5 inches . This includes prep. Final grade and plastic drain and radon pipe. Pour and finish. Garage and porches are more like 5.25 ..drains, compaction, forming, 4"concrete with wire pour and finish. This builder gives us 80-90 homes a year. Jobs for individuals are higher but not what it should be. Love watching you guys work! We've been at it for 35 plus years and we can stil learn from people like you. Keep up the good work

We are a residential full service concrete contractor based in Spokane, Wa. We do all of our own prep, demo, and finishing. We never charge by square foot since every job is different and super involved. My average cost is 20 per sqft, as in, that is how much it costs me to do the work. It's a little frustrating when homeowners Google "how much should concrete cost" and a page written by a journalist who doesn't do concrete says it should only be 5 per ft.

I called 3 contractors in North Georgia trying to get them to come look at my 34’ x 34’ barn to pour a 5-6” thick well finished slab and couldn’t even get them to come out and look at it. Housing boom in North Georgia and everything is or was going gang busters. I was going to pour it myself but they quoted me 244 dollars a yard to deliver 4000 psi premix. I ended up pouring 14 yards using a Mudmixer with my brother in law and a helper. I probably overpaid doing it that way, but I can depend on myself where you just can’t on others unfortunately. I figured 10-15k to pour and finish it? It would make me feel better if I knew it would cost more than 10k.

I can roll a creeper on it, but it was poured in 9 sections of about 10x12, so not seamless. We bull floated it, it turned out okay I guess. It will do to park a tractor on it.

@@jessesawyer3875 I wished you were in North Georgia, we would have both been happy. I had it dug out and leveled and graveled, if you poured it all at once you would have only needed to form across the two doors, the rest was pouring to walls/blocks. You could have backed the truck up to the 14’ tall door, not sure if you use that plasticizer stuff to make it flow into a 34 foot deep barn or if you use a mud buggy or? What about over run on concrete how do you charge for that?
@MikeDayConcrete

I add it to the final bill. Any amount over a yard gets added.

Concrete contractors here don’t pay for the concrete. Just their labor. Contractors have the floors prepped and pay for concrete themselves.

@@pietmondrianstudent6984 True but I meant the price is based on perceived value as well as input costs in other words as much as you think you'll get. Theres quite a bit of profit there and rightfully so I was wondering what he spends it on👍

@@pietmondrianstudent6984 not really. The size of jobs he does wouldn’t put him out of business. Because pretty much every job he does great. Those aren’t big enough jobs to put someone under.

That's a fair price in upstate NY to form and pour a pad. + $4 or more per sf to grade and compact

I just did 210 sq ft of concrete w a mixer today. 2 & 1/2 inch thick slab for a driveway. I charged $1600. All 90 lbs bags. Labor was a whore. The customer wanted it as cheap as possible. Rebar was wired up and sturdy. Job wasn't lousy. I just want tips and advice on what I should charge in the future for this large of a job. We finished in 14 hours with 2 people. Any advice would be great.
