$3500 post tax + housing is around what I’d expect a family of 4 to spend for people to be comfortable. So maybe like $6k? And you probably want to be putting away an additional $1k. So $7k a month. To get that as a net income, a household probably needs to make roughly $100k a year. This is highly doable in a home with 2 earners, or 1 earner supported by someone else. But single earner households, forget about it. Definitely something millennials and zoomers need to understand.

That's quite a bit of eating out, as well as a couple of hundred dollars on groceries for what I believe is a family of 5. So, overall their spending came out to about $750 in a week. Other than the food and the house cleaner, it was basically random spending. There was no mortgage payment, no utility bills, no gas for the car, no insurance payments. So, it's not possible to really extrapolate from that and determine what the real cost of living is here.

I do spend for my son's entartainement and needs , also for my cat's well-being. They are my priorities. I am already happy if I can pay all of my bills, food, gas. I'm so low maintenance.

Some of these are incidentals, not weekly expenses. But this list can't be complete. How about the mortgage/rent, phone , water, electric, gas, gasoline, dog food/dog care, some sort of video service, car loan, car insurance, lawn service (for the house lawn not her lawn, 'cause if she ain't got time to clean she ain't got time to mow), credit cards, medical copayments, medical/dental insurance premiums, HSA/FSA contributions, 529 contributions, auto maintenance, HOA fees, and more. The only judgment I offer is get away for Uber Eats (restaurant food), McDonalds and pizza. They are killing you and your children, just slowly.
