Hi! We are Phil and Alex! After leaving California in an RV, traveling full time, and helping our littlest with an open heart surgery, we've settled down in Tennessee. We found our homestead land and are learning each day how to live a more sustainable life. We are a family grown through the miracle of Adoption & Infertility Treatments. Our precious daughters are Kinsley Grace (7 years old), Callie Jo (5 years old), and Cassidy Drew (2). My granddaughter s hatred they mum one lock ed her self in room said she was no help and did everything her self but she a brainbox other one 11was so slow and went to toilet or drinks they fighting everyday and wee one 8 was running away ingarden not a lot of work got done my daughter gave up and so did her pals her boys were an night mare all she did was cry no never again nanapolly x Scotland 👍🌌🌻🌺🙏☮️🌻🥰🌟😊👋🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌹

I am so sorry your kiddos were struggling with school after COVID. My youngest daughter has Cystic Fibrosis so we were glad she was home and the down fall was she didn’t see her friends for almost a year and a half. Some of her friends said to her (I thought you died) I was also very worried about Anxiety, depression because she didn’t go back until here senior. Mom’s know what is best for our kids. Hope your boys are doing better and had a great summer.

SO excited to see you sharing more about homeschooling! I loved getting a glimpse into what resources you're using. We've used Heart of Dakota for over 11 years now with our children, and it's been such a rich, wholesome, Christ centered way to learn. We've come across our favorite books through using it, and it's really helped my kids to become good readers, writers, and also develop biblical discernment too. I always am amazed that kids do not see the body "flaws" we as adults see in people. Kins just saw you and your light, not thin hair, just her Mumma looking beautiful. Or for me I have a tooth gap. I mentioned this in front of my little sister one time (13 year age gap), she would have been about 5/6 and she was like "What? NO YOU DONT" and I smiled for her. She is like "I never noticed" and she laughed. Not that she is 14 and self conscious of her teeth, I've reminded her of this story. People tend not to noticed, they just see your light!

We are early season homeschoolers and after finding out learning styles and trying different curriculum. We LOVE McGuffey's and Ray's along with the workbooks. Also Gather Round for unit studies. We love your videos and are homesteading also. Your an amazing family and example to everyone. God Bless.

For hair get a volumizing mosse use root clips when air drying and maybe sea salt spray when dry to keep texture. Other things to add shampoo and conditioner should contain protein. And get a scalp oil with castor oil and rosemary. You could also make a rosemary rinse.

Alex, my hair is naturally wavy and thin as well. I was introduced to curl crème. You just need a dime size and scrunch it in. After that, flip you hair over and diffuse upside down while you scrunch a little. You don’t have to hit it for long, just a minute or two. The volume from the curl plus the diffusing makes my hair seem so much thicker. Love watching you guys and the love and positivity you exude. Sending my love back to you guys in return. 🫶🏼

I have lost my hair several times as a side effect of anesthesia from surgery. So my hair is very thin..yet length is staying about the same..and new hair is coming in...right now, new is about 2 inches at base and stragglers go to nothing. New hair is more wavy curled and so if it is humid outside or I get sweaty I have this halo of sticking out all over short curly and thin hair. My girls...grown up...call it my witchy woman hair. I wear in a loose ponytail, combed straight back similar to Alexs one. That makes it easier to brush back the wayward hair into the ponytail. I've tried shampoos, spray on after wash, conditioners. Things recommended by the girl who trims my hair. Her suggestions are good for keeping the hair soft and healthy. But I don't see any thickness changes. I guess it's just going to be my fate because it seems every time it gets any length, bam, another surgery. I have had patches of alopecia like Alex showed. Seems Alex you are not the only one, to me that makes me feel better to know I am not alone. No matter what, you still look very nice.

UPDATES: Tomatoes are not ready yet. We will bring them when they are! You may have heard that Utah and surrounding states are in somewhat of a tomato 'crisis.' Last spring, heavy winds brought leaf-hoppers from the south which spread curly-top disease to the majority of tomato plants, eventually killing them. After pulling out and replanting over 16,000 plants, we are now starting to get a small harvest, but additional weather factors are preventing the plentiful fruits from ripening! We are hopeful they will be ready for our next delivery 9/23/22. PAYMENT CLARIFICATION: You will be purchasing our product from C-A-L Ranch at their registers, so credit cards will be accepted! We very much appreciate your support of our farm!! DELIVERY DATE: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND, doors open at 8am and close at 9pm. We are bringing more produce than usual in hopes everyone will get what they need! Alex I wanted you to be aware of what happened to tomatoes here in the Midwest. We looooove our greenstalk planters! I bought two when it was on sale for Mother’s Day this year. Planted some things in it and loved how easy it was. We’re finally getting our backyard set up. Planning on putting in raised garden beds since our backyard isn’t big. I didn’t want to wait a whole mother year before we started planting and learning, so the green stalks were the perfect thing. We bought an additional two when they had their bogo sale. Got my mom and my aunt one as well they both love it! We’ve dedicated one of our Greenstalk planters to be all strawberry plants. Planted them late this year, so we’re hoping next year we get a good harvest of strawberries!

Hello from California 🌴. When our 7 yr old was diagnosed with cancer we decided to keep both kids at home but neither of us are teachers and I knew I would fail 😔 so we had to pay for a teacher come to our house and it worked

I have a potted Meyer lemon tree, first year, lots of lemons- I can't wait until they're ripe- going to make real lemonade. I'm also growing pineapples- but I'm in Florida and we have the right Temps. My cherry tomatoes and sweet peppers did well this year but strawberries, no go. I'm also growing pink lemonade blue berry bushes in pots can't wait until they have fruit too. I've learned so much from you all.

I did the same thing with an indoor rug I had, put it out on the front porch, but ended up throwing it out as it made my wood underneath the rug, start to mildew.

I bought a tiny Meyer Lemon 35 years ago. We lived in SW MO. The tree was outside in the spring, summer and fall and inside in front of a sunny window in the winter. We moved ourselves and the tree to SE Michigan 5 years ago. We do the same thing here except in the winter we now use a grow light because we don’t have a sunny window available for the tree. Our tree is now like a bonsai tree. The trunk is big in diameter but it is super tall, maybe 5 foot. It is in a huge pot on wheels and yes we get lemons!!

I just had a moment in watching this video-I was thinking back to when y’all first started, with such hope for a family, and facing such a struggle. And then you got two precious miracles, traveled across the US, and now your own farm, another child, and a beautiful home. Isn’t God just so good? When I’m down, I remember what God has done for all of us, but also what He has done for your family. It has not been easy at all for y’all, but look how He saw you through!

Spring of 2020, I started with the fathers world for the last half of kinder and 1st grade until Jan of 2021, I switched to the Good and Beautiful. Now, we are in a Christian co cop school that meets 2 days a week, and I homeschool 3. It’s amazing and the best of both worlds. You have to do what’s best for your family, which is the reason we homeschool. Choices

I watch another RU-vid station and she lives in the same state as you and Phil and she put a portable greenhouse on her deck that allows her to grow a lot of the vegetables like you are talking about with the lettuce year round

I was fussing today about my hair! It is so thin. I cut it short and that helps a little but now I have to style it every day. Your hair is pretty. I love the way you wear the headband. Is your curriculum state accredited. If your kids do go on to post secondary education, if you continue homeschooling into high school, they will need education that will translate to their chosen college or university.

Do you have a teacher planner or a method to keeping lessons organized for the week? We are justtttttttt coming into Kindergarten so very lose curriculum but would like to start having a plan as we go and practice it now. Also MAN is it STRESSFUL taking our kids' education into our own hands. I constantly doubt myself all of the time and it is soooo overwhelming but we've got this so love seeing videos like this.

Alex, I think you look beautiful! Thin hair and all. If the thin hair bothers you I manage a salon and we sell Zenagen which is a hair growth shampoo. I’ve personally used it when I got alopecia and it’s changed my life. I’m not making this suggestion to make any money at all. If it’s something you are Interested in I get things at wholesale due to being in the salon world. I’d be happy to get it for you at cost and mail you some!

Good morning Alex I too have thin hair. It’s gotten thinner as I’ve grown older. I blow dry upside down. Helps some. I use dry shampoo after it’s dried to give me some thickness. Biolage full density works best too. Also sometimes a thickening mousse. I just wanted to share sister I totally understand 💕

I am in zone 5 in Canada and I grew lemons from seeds. I used one lemon and have about 13 plants, some bigger than others. I don’t have an indoor green thumb, but I am happy with my success.

If you get a hairdryer with the diffuser on the end to scrunch up and dry on low temp it'll help with the waves and volume. Also dry shampoo will help the greasyness in between showers.

Geesh, Tyler's parents should have taught him "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all" quote from the Bambi movie. There were little books that came with records (45s) and it would play along with the book and ding when you needed to turn the pages. There was a song that I remember from those stories. "If you can't say something nice, button your lips and swallow 🎵🎵"

My hair is EXACTLY like yours Alex!!! I feel your pain. Very thin, naturally wavy and when you have thinner hair, it gets greasy a lot quicker.

In 2015, I had a lot of thinning and breakage, due in part to hormones, so I started taking biotin, and it made such a huge difference. I recommend biotin (and perhaps other B vitamins), a satin or silk sleep cap or pillowcase, more natural haircare products, including wooden brushes/combs, semi-permanent vegetable based color or henna (or even herbs, like chamomile), dry naturally and scrunch with aloe instead of mousse, hair dryers, and irons/straighteners. Trim only when the ends are dry and/or split. My hair is waist length. As a trade off, I will have to pay more attention to your lifestyle for weight loss and overall health.

We just bought our first house and there's not a lot of land, so this is great! Dude. Odele dry shampoo powder is the BEST for extra thin, fine, greasy, flat hair. Just make sure to cleanse well.

My daughter, living in Iowa, has grown limes. She just brings them inside when it gets too cold. Iowa is further north than you are, so I bet you can do ok with your citrus trees.

I am just putting a mixture of castor oil , clove oil , and rosemary oil in my hair. I also add a few drops to my detangler spray. I had thick hair all my life , until my total hysterectomy. Due to Breast Cancer running on both sides of my family , I did not take hormones of any kind. One of my friends did notice since adding the castor oil , my hair is thicker . Hope you find a product that works for you. Good Luck !

Do you worry about your kiddos social skills and some of the things that can be learned in a public school setting? Just curious if there could be any adjustment hurdles when it comes to college or work settings depending on the field they select. No judgment at all, I think it is great that you have a life that allows for this and I can honestly say I could never do it as mentally I’ve learned a little time apart from my kiddos is good for all of us. Wouldn’t trade them for anything but I still need to some no kid time.

Lol I can relate in high school this guy told me that I was pretty but my arms were too hairy for him to date (I wasn’t even interested in him like that ) but that same day I went home and shaved my arms and 15 years later I’m still shaving them it’s crazy how one comment can have a lasting effect on someone

Thanks alex.. btw.. re your hair.. its fine hair and theres lots of natural scalp tonics that help to thicken hair.. but also it coukd be low estrogen.. as a peri menopausal woman my hair got thinner and i took hormonesxand it grew back thicker.. something to think about... love your videos😊

I have a question about homeschooling! What does your youngest do while you’re schooling the older ones? In my case I just started official Pre-K with my son but he DOES NOT appreciate when his 2yo sister is in the room with us, she of course is very interested in everything we’re doing but he just becomes so overwhelmed with her there and I do too. I want her to be able to learn as well because she is so interested but I feel like I would have to do her time separately :( So yes just wondering what you do with Cassidy or if she interrupts the school flow with the older ones?

I have an almost 2 year old, she colors, does play dough and magnets. She will sit for a bit for what we're doing then get up to play, So it works and then my older 3 do school. My kindergartner plays with her a lot since his school is pretty short. She also naps and I get any reading on things that need quiet one on one done in that time. I tell my kids this is group school time and then you could tell him he'll have his individual time when she naps. Maybe he just wants to know some one on one time is coming. My husband works so he's not able to help entertain her and it's still fine, just getting into a routine :) hope that helps. Good luck!

Careful with hot peppers where kids will touch. I still remember as a five year old getting into neighbors peppers. I thought they were pretty. Touched my eyes and burned for hours. I'm 66 now and vivid memory

I have fine hair. I hate my hair so I keep it short. I want to get your plant towers. I had one tomato plant - we got 3 tiny tomatoes. Then the plant was taken over by aphids.

Alex, could you share where you got your chicken and roses headband? I have androgenic alopecia and sometimes like to cover my buzz cut or cover the hairline of a wig with a headband, but they're hard to find!

I know all about if something can go wrong it will happen to me. Thats why i say i need a hard hat and water wings. The hard hat is because I could get hit upside my head by air. The water wings are so i don't drown in a mud puddle. We used abeka when we home schooled my son. Im not sure how the lower grades work, he did high school

Hair comment lol I know there are a lot of products out there and ingredients can be an issue when it comes to hair products… I have had a lot of hair loss, though I was lucky to start will thicker hair, and have been trying maintain the health of what I do have. Verb Ghost Oil has been amazing. I was really hesitant because my hair does get oily, but it’s the most non oily hair oil ever lol. I also love Olaplex No 3. Olaplex has the safety data sheets available for all their products on their website too…
