What’s up man, I know you’re doing a great job in your clinical rotations, I know you’ve gonna be a great CRNA! I really enjoy donating to the CRNA Foundation, since it was hard for me to go to college to be a CRNA because of my cerebral palsy, I’m working on becoming a patient advocate for CRNA! I really wanted to be a CRNA! You rock man

Hey David! Current SRNA (that might be the first time I've ever typed that out, imposter syndrome oozing through those letters) who is super early in my education, currently starting week 3 of my program. 2 things: 1- Talking about your workload really makes me laugh right now. My first few months are online and I've frankly been anxious that I'm not doing enough. Reality is that I rip though all of my course work in the first few days of the week and am left wondering what to do for the remainder of the week. Give me a few months and I'm sure I'll agree that I don't know how there is enough time in the day to get it all done hahaha. I'll try to enjoy my free time while I can! 2- Thank you for your honesty about your experiences in clinical thus far, seriously. I can remember my early shifts in the ICU and how I felt not knowing anything and the feeling I had going home. I know it's part of the learning process but it's still not fun in the moment. I know my day is coming to have the same experience my first time in the OR. It's comforting to see you going through similar experiences even with your training as an NP. I've said it once and I'll say it again, you're a beast! Keep up the strong work! I can't thank you enough for the videos, incredibly motivating for the long days I have ahead. Grateful to have people like you in this profession!

I appreciate their frustrations you described in your video! You’d think that if schools really wanted students they would make it more conducive to do your job while you are there!

DO YOU GET HOLIDAYS DURING CRNA STUDIES IF SO HOW LONG?

Plus when you’re out of department, the environment again feels different. For instance doing a general in MRI in a little space with a super obese patient. It’s easy to forget something very important during all that, such as suction. I also wish I had known how everyone does things a little different, and some expect you to remember their way.

Very informative video as always. I'm graduating from my BSN this May and so far CRNA will be my goal in a couple years. Are you able to share your CRNA school application stats, or perhaps make a video on your application process. I'm expected to graduate with a 3.58 GPA how does this stack up against the rest in your opinion? Thanks!

Look up several schools you plan on applying to, as their requirements will vary and most will post the averages of the most recent class. Most top tier programs require at minimum one year of level one trauma experience (average is around 2.5 though). A 3.58 BSN GPA is great for most programs. The lowest I’ve seen is 3.2 and highest 3.75 for sciences. Your cumulative GPA is less important than your science GPA. You’ll want to make sure you have all the hard sciences required as well. Depending on the school you may need organic chem, microbiology, biochem, physics and a higher level stats class. You may also need to take the GRE, however that’s becoming less common, just make sure you take it seriously if the programs you’re applying to require it. CCRN cert is also good to have and a history or leadership and volunteer roles. Congrats on your BSN and good luck with your new career and future CRNA goals. PS - I love David’s content and grateful to have recently discovered his channel. But another good resource on RU-vid for new applicants is Bolt CRNA. He has a lot of good videos specific to the application process. If you haven’t discovered his channel yet, it’s worth checking it out.

CRNA school can be frustrating due to those little nuances. Unnecessary stress created from things like badge access and Pyxis access.

Oh yea, lol and no life till graduation lol😂. We all thought it was going to get better every semester but something else was added. Prodigy/apex etc. plus your dead tired after clinical
