i can totally relate to the making and maintaining friendships, its soo hard to find a "real" friend in uni :') most of my friends i have in uni are just like... uni friends, outside of the uni we are like strangers lmao
as a first gen in my family to go to uni, i barely know anything about uni. i’ve just started the UCAS process, today actually. i’m so excited but i’m also very apprehensive about how uni is going to go. your videos on Edinburgh uni are so helpful as it’s my first choice uni. thank you so much for making this video!! ❤️❤️
I have just finished my degree and can agree with almost everything you said, even if I did it in another different country. They weren't the best 4 years of my life tbh, but it is okay and still have good memories and learned a lot (just hoping better things and more exciting ones are coming!!)
this actually helped me sooooo much. i will start going to university in october and i'm so nervous and excited, because i don't have any experiences as a student. and all of the topics or thoughts you spoke about were in my head for the last few weeks and i think your words really encouraged and helped me. so thank you so much!! 🦋🌞🧚🏼♀️🧡
I agree with everything... except with the friends and friendships things. I was an outcast in HS, so I don't really have friends from that time in my life, just "acquaintances". But in uni, I made so many lifelong friends, despite still being not very social.
@@nothudanasir I think it also depends on the country... in my country in uni is really easy to make friends as everyone in the same degree has the same classes and classmates 90% of the time.
You are so beautiful. I love your accent very much too ❤️ remind me a bit of Emma Watson 🥰 you are my role model for content creating, study and life stuff ✨ thanks for sharing your tips and being such an amazing role model!! Love you very much
I just finished uni in June but I loved watching this because everything is sooo true and relatable!. I really struggled with my mental health in my first year and making friends was sooo hard but uni was one of the best times of my life even with the ups and downs!! 💕
I'm also going to start my fourth year and these tips are stil so helpful, sometimes I still struggle to find a balance between university, work and personal life but I guess that you learn as you go. For me one of the most important things that I learnt is that everyone has thieir own time and you don't have to feel like a failure If thing don't go as you planned because eventually you will get there. You need to take care of yourself and your mental health! Love your content 💞🌺🌷
i love your sit down videos (as well as your vlogs) !! please make more like this like you used to, your videos are so so good and you’re stunning 💗💐🌷🌿😘
Ahh everything you said was so true!! I’m going into my final year of uni this fall and I can’t believe how fast it’s gone, even when my study abroad got cancelled the year still went by so fast!
I think this first tip is a valid for all of life! I’m 31 and have often thought, moving to a new country, starting a new job, getting into a new relationship, that I’m going to be different, that things will be different. But like you said, you can’t escape essence and that’s always going to come first. Ps if anyone can recommend similar vids for adults wanting to study whilst full time working, let me know! Love ur content Nayna 🌼
what you were saying about grades really spoke to me rn! i was so disappointed to not get a first after my second year exams but i've been trying to forgive myself/be proud regardless and work on other aspects of my cv to kind of ~counter-balance~ that and it's really helping my job anxiety. been trying to express this to people and no one seems to get it, they always just think i'm giving up - so thankyou for saying this, it was super validating!!
Your first point about always being you is so true!!! I had the same exact thing when I started high school and thought I was suddenly going to be an extrovert and have all these friends 😂Not the case haha. Much better to be happy as yourself than disappointed trying to be someone else :)
one thing that is important to remember about roommates is to prioritize being good roommates and being able to live together over being best friends. this helps create a healthier and happier living environment without sacrificing friendship.
Excellent vlog Nayna. Never been to university if I did go to university I would of had to pass my HNC and HND in my choosen subject which is Horticulture which would be done through SRUC (Scottish Rual & Urban College which specialises in Argiculture, Horticulture and other outdoor subjects) and the Edinburgh SRUC is on the Edinburgh University Campus. Love 🥰the vlog and love 💕❤ Nayna.
THANK YOUUU for sharing us your experiences! I really need to hear this (im just starting my first day of uni and a bit anxious about where it will take me)
this was so helpful thank you!! I've been here for two days and it's been rough so I'm taking this time to settle and this helps a lot to remind me of what's important!!
despite being from the US, all this advice seems super relevant to our universities too. i’m going to be a freshman (first year) this fall, so thank you for making this video !! i’m v excited for the uni content to come :)
thank you for this! i'm going into my 2nd year of law school (living in France), and living on my own is kinda scary (bc mostly did my 1st year at home). hope i'm not gonna be anxious about meeting people haha
Hi Nayna! I just started grad school and this is exactly what I needed. I’ve been making to-do lists daily, so helpful! Still haven’t made any friends, so you’re right about time and effort haha.
I loved this video!!! sometimes videos like this can be a bit samey and repetitive but your insights were so thoughtful and interesting. Defo taking all of this on board, thank u queen 💖
Hiii :) I'm a huuge fan of your videos, and I was waiting for this one as I'm starting uni in September. You're such an inspiring person! And I was thinking thay maybe, if you feel comfortable about it, you could talk in another video or podcast episode about the news on climate change, fires , Haïti, Lebanon and Afghanistan , and how to stay optmistic despite this amount of extremelly depressing and sad events. I have to say that I'm struggling a lot and feel quite overwhelmed by everything. Love from France
I was soooo excited to see todays sponsor because I have been looking for the perfect planner and the academic diary seems to be it but sadly they don‘t ship these to Austria:(
Thank you so much for your help! I'm going into my first year of university. Was wondering, would u recommend reading university papers to give yourself a rough idea of the writing scheme and writing a paper or do u get taught this?
I am starting my 4th year of university but I'm still in year 2, because I don't know what to do, I don't know what pleases me. I feel like it's the worst time of my life, didn't make any friends, loose my other friends, stopped doing some things that I was doing before because I don't have the time anymore, have a bad relationship with university system, bad relationship with food and sleep. I can't wait that of this is done, wherever I am.
