i rushed into a fraternity and 100% echo the point that you can stop participating in greek life whenever you want. i was part of a founding class and felt the pressure to continue all 3 years but i wish someone told me this when i was still in! thanks lauren 🙏🙏

Don’t let the cost deter you, especially at small, non-southern schools. FYI - I’m at a medium-big Northern public univ w around 10 chapters and ours are around $300-650 a semester. Mine personally is only around $350, and it can be less if you are a senior or work an internship.

My college days are long over but I like watching this. I did not do Greek life in college but this is all very useful for more than just Greek life. I will admit, I got lost after college so make sure you are prepping yourself before you graduate.
Loved this video. Very good information. I am a Mom from NJ who has a daughter looking at Southern schools. She may or may not Rush. It will be her decision, but I was curious to learn about sorority life and through googling found your You Tube Channel. I am sick of the news and now opt to see what Lauren is up to. I learned a lot from watching your videos. School ends mid June in NJ and to start school first week of August is tough. I was happy to hear the Southern schools also have Spring rush. All your points and the comments other girls posted were wonderful and honestly true. Girls need to listen to their inner voices and stay true to themselves. I hope a lot of young girls watch this video. Way back when, I was a junior who transferred from another college into a NY state school and rushed/joined a sorority. The pledging process was time consuming and I made a 2.0 at the skin of my teeth so I am glad I joined as a junior. I probably could not have handled it as a freshman. Off topic, I like the “snap, snap to you” phrase. Thank you Lauren.
If you’re planning to be active as an alumna, you will want to look at where and how many alumnae chapters there are, what options are available - but that shouldn’t be the end all. I chose the smaller (nationally) sorority at my school instead of one of the biggest nationally. It has made a difference in my alumnae experience (I’ve moved to places where there aren’t any chapters) BUT I wouldn’t change my college years for anything!

Also speaking of dues, I know some sororities/schools will have scholarships. I had a friend that applied for one through her sorority and they paid half her dues every year but she still had to keep a certain GPA and volunteer hours a semester for it
It's good you're helping other girls going through a similar process you have. I'm not but I decided to subscribe after watching Keegan Acton and after seeing your confidence. Confidence is something I'm working to build.
I loved my sisters but I definitely wish I knew before I rushed how much money it takes to be a part of a sorority, and also that there are sometimes scholarships available!
Oh Lauren. I loved this video but wish my university was the same as Alabama. Girls are dropped from houses at my university if they are too “fat”. It’s sad and it’s taken away the true meaning from Greek life.
Im a pi phi at a small school and our dues are only about 300$. It’s definitely different everywhere and we still have girls that don’t realize how much money it is even though we tell them during recruitment. I think it’s just an overall shock when you are in a fun environment with your sisters and then dues roll around and you’re life wait I have to pay for this??
Same! I was a Kappa Delta at a smaller school and it was about $400/semester. It was still hard for me to pay it but they offered a payment plan which really helped me!

The trend with NPC sororities is the legacy status has no “perks” anymore. Most are saying they don’t have to be invited back like they used to. They are on the same playing field as everyone else.

@@evelynolson5731 they’re are top houses that’s a personal mindset she said to have every girl wants to be in one of the bigger houses with more sisters and better parties and those a a few “top” houses that came to mind but what I didn’t understand is why she was trying to make it seem like she’s not in a top house or “more popular” house if you will lol I’ve been watching Lauren for 4 years I love her so it was just question I had as a person who was curious because I have friends going into bama rush

Black Greeks are very than whites because…. We take tradition very seriously and sometimes our ancestors have problems joining Greek back in the 1900s What happened was I want to join a white sorority but I have I was like raise in Black Greeks so I have where’s my mom was like you’re gonna be like to only in black girl so I was like OK, I heard a lots of horror stories about racism during White Greeks
