“I’m sure if you are tapping in this video you probably are going through rush, maybe you have already gone through rush and you are looking for advice…” or maybe you’re an Australian, you’ve already graduated, and you’re living your American fantasy life through Lauren’s videos 🤷♀️
YES!! Im in Pi Phi at UGA and I felt the same way, the first person I met at pi phi made me feel immediately at home! Find the people who celebrate you and help you feel unabashedly yourself!! These are the people you belong with!! Don’t listen to anyone else’s opinion, listen to your gut!
This video made me realise how long i’ve been watching you.. living vicariously through you as a 29 year old single mum in Australia lol. You’re lovely Lauren 🥰
Big sister Lauren energy reallyyyyy comin out in this video and I love it. I have no desire to go into a sorority (it’s just not my vibe and even if it was don’t have the money😂) but I love listening to things like this and learning about it, and hearing you talk about what you’re passionate about💕
I graduated college in December and RUSH was my FAVORITE time of year. At my college, they had a few select "Free Sign Up Saturday" and people would sign up then so it was free. Other times I think it was only $15 or $25 so registering for RUSH really just depends on the school!
" We talked about legally blonde and theatre and everything pink and it made me feel so at home".....and then the bit on the Lily Pulitzer bracelet🤣 You are a real life Elle Woods just the undergrad edition.
I'm in a sorority at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and our fee to sign up for recruitment was $25, so yeah I think it just definitely depends on the university and how many PNM's there are :))
Hey, I'm considering going there on exchange for a year, would looovveee to rush as I've always wanted to be in a sorority and we don't have them in my country! What do you think honestly is the chance of someone getting a bid if they're a) only there for a year and b) a little bit older (24)?
You gave such good advice Lauren! I'm an older viewer who does business networking. Many tips given are applicable to interviews & getting to know other professionals! You are so authentic & caring! Hope you have a wonderful pageant! 😍
I’m also an older student at UA and I just love your vids lauren! Rush is so interesting to me even though it isn’t really my vibe, it is so cool to learn about it like this!
shut the front door!! I'm dying over the thank you shout out!! hold on while I send this vid to everyone I know because I officially feel famous! you are legit one of the biggest reasons I went greek and I am now serving as my chapter's vice president living everyday thinking wwlnd (what would lauren norris do)!!!!
This is just my experience, not all greek life is this. I tried rushing at my school because I had friends and I figured it would be helpful with my social skills(I have ADHD and might be autistic) I rushed as a second year, and there was a girl who I thought was a great friend turned out to be very toxic( not just towards me, she was a red member) I went to two events before going to the president of said sorority and reported it(She was really helpful with me about it, and had also gotten other comments about said girl) I don't talk to this girl anymore but I try to be as nice as possible.
Yes I was in one and this girl thought she was the shit because she had been in the sorority longer than new members. She was rude and obnoxious. I didn’t really love Greek life I had some fun but I didn’t need to rush. I had a group of friends and roommates already and a sorority took so much time and money.
Hi!! I go to UA and I am not in a sorority and I have felt so welcomed and loved through numerous campus clubs and organizations. I rushed but decided it was not for me and if it’s not for you, it’s okay!! You’ll be okay and you’ll do great, whatever that means for you🤍
Not in college anymore just love the nostalgia hahaha. I hear rush at Arizona is notorious for beauty judgement. My rush payment I believe was $50 def not $350. My bestie went to Bama and said girls were on suicide watch during rush week because the house defined how their legacy would end up.
i think the best advice i got was be true to who you are. sororities are lifetime commitments and you don’t want to be fake during rush bc then you will have to fake it the rest of your life and that’s so mentally exhausting!! just be you and you don’t want to be in a house that you don’t vibe well in or that doesn’t want you back!!
Hey Lauren I am so excited to watch your new video!! It’s literally only been out for less than 20 minutes!! You go queen bee the girl that just went for it! 💕
@@TheLaurenNorris omg you just made my day! I take that back my year!! Everything !! You’re such an inspiration to girls all around the world! Keep doing what you’re doing!! 💕💖
Lauren, I always love watching your videos. You have influenced me through the good and the bad situation. You are my role model! Your so gorgeous and I’ve always wanted to grow up and live like you!❤️❤️
I am still a young child and even though I’m not going through college and rush I love watching Lauren talk about it bc she inspires me to do what she does in the future! Love you Lauren!! 😘
another reason that it's so expensive to rush is that you're moving in a week or two before the rest of the school. at bama the dining hall still feeds you and in you get to move into your dorm a lot earlier than everyone else, so you also have to consider that when looking at the financial aspect of rush!
I am a transfer student & im 23. This past semester was my first year as a junior at the new university I was at. I rushed last spring & I went into this not knowing anything about rush! Had no idea how any of it went. I didn’t get into a sorority. One of the sororities I was at last I didn’t vibe with at all. I felt so weird & left out I almost felt like I was the weird one & people couldn’t vibe with me… I cried when I went back to my dorm because I was so uncomfortable. I was talking to each girl individually in the last house I went to & when we finished our conversation they passed me onto another girl then another & I just felt like I was being passed around. The one sorority that I thought I DID vibe with dropped me & it just made me feel like there was something wrong with me? I had a horrible rush experience, is this normal Lauren? The whole thing was just mentally draining!
I joined a sorority at my school last fall and I almost chose a house because they were National ( My sorority is not national ) I look back now I don’t think I would have been happy in that house . I am glad I went with my gut !
Watching you from the UK and graduated and now a student again. Definitely isn’t a ‘Greek life’ here- speaking from attending one of the top ‘red brick’ universities. This sorority thing just wouldn’t stick here in the UK! Maybe at the likes of Oxford or Cambridge there are societies which may have some similarities- but these are usually exclusive to the upper class. Love your videos Lauren. So interesting delving into a world that is vastly different to my own ☺️💕
Lauren! i love it when you post!! it brightens up my day and i love it!!! Hope your staying safe during this bad weather today!! Your my idol and i’ve always wanted to start my own youtube channel beacuse of you but i feel like everyone will joke on me anyways!! Your so beautiful!
I am also an older college student. Started in my middle 20's and will graduate next year in my upper 20's. I didn't join a sorority but I do think there is an advantage to being an older college student. The advantage being that you are a couple years older and generally have more life experiences.
I'm in a sorority at a Western Mich (AOII) and after Bama rush TikTok I was so so curious about the process is like down south! I'm so excited to recruit for a second year!
Great video, I am sure that those going through rush will get a lot from this video. I joined a sorority as an older member, made some good friends but at the end of my time I felt that I no longer fitted in and wasn't wanted.
Hii Lauren!🌸 I just wanted you to know that coming across your RU-vid channel awhile ago is one of the best things they happed to me! You and your videos make me really happy💞
i cant believe i'm this early!!! also love your videos lauren, your so inspiring and aesthetic!!! i've been watching you for a little while now and your amazing! the first video i watched was your sorority dorm tour, too! thank you for being u!
I have a question. Do you have any advice for girls who are rushing their sophomore year? Is the process a little different or no? Can u give more details pls
I’m going to community college for my first two years of college and I want to transfer to the University of Alabama next year. Will it be too late for me to join as a junior?
I love your sorority content! I love watching all the content and learning more about it! It’s so interesting seeing what life is like and the sisterhood and philanthropy in the different sororities!
24:21 Absolutely no one should be pressuring you into anything or hazing you. And if they do and you’re not comfortable going to your president (which you should be), go straight to Panhellenic! I promise, they will get in trouble. Like big big trouble. Do not let it slide. No ma’am.
As a reminder, sororities are organizations of LIFE LONG MEMBERSHIP!!! This shouldn't be taken lightly... and just joining to make a few friends and then get out is NOT the point of our organizations.
In 2019 29% of men were in frats but actually 44% of women were in sororities - kind of crazy that almost half of all female undergrads are in Greek life 😲
