I've seen people throw away their mugs which work perfectly fine and then go to the store and buy a set of 4 all white mugs and why? Because they look minimalistic. Doesn't make sense at all !

For now I'm just focusing on my closet. I'm slowly getting rid of cheap clothes and investing in quality items that will last for years and represent me better, because the older I get the more I can tell the difference between cheap and well made clothes. Focusing on buying quality makes minimalism a lot easier, you can't afford to buy extensively lol. I used to use shopping as a coping strategy, or tell myself I need a new outfit for every special occasion, now I limit myself to rounding out my wardrobe and focusing on classic pieces that won't fall apart after one wash. It's cheaper in the long run and it makes me happy to sift through my closet and only see pieces I love

I am from Poland and my channel is focused on the subjects like living zero waste and reducing our carbon footprint. Really love that more and more people care about this stuff

Its about decluttering, reorganizing, and not depriving yourself from the things you need! Anyway we all have those few pieces that we wear most of the time, rest just sits in the closet. Why not keep the clothes that one will actually wear!

I have been wanting to go minimalist for YEARS but I could never justify throwing out/donating most of what I own (because what if I need it someday in the very, very distant future). My house ended up burning down in one of the fires in California a few months ago and I had evacuated with practically nothing. A couple of days after the fire, I saw your video about everything you owned and I decided that there would never be a better time to become a minimalist. I bought about a week and a half's worth of high-quality clothes from ethical stores (think Patagonia or Levi's) plus a few basic makeup products and LOTS AND LOTS of plants. I am also moving for college in September so it definitely helps to know that I can fit everything I own into my small car. I have never felt freer than I do right now!

I find your minimalist vids so inspirational. I’ve been down sizing for some time but I have so much more to go. It’s been rewarding but so incredibly hard because I’ve had such an attachment to stuff for so long. Thanks for the inspiration.

You've inspired me to become a minimalist myself. For years I couldn't figure out why my mind seems so cluttered and after watching your videos it became so clear to me like wow haha. I've started with cleaning out my wardrobe. Obviously, it's still a lot of clothes but I won't be buying new things until my current pieces are worn out and after that I'll probably never support fast fashion ever again. Now I have to move onto different sections of my room/life... Wish me luck! (:

I find having less stuff makes me feel less stressed and the hardest thing is once getting rid of stuff is trying not to replace it with new things. Also I'm not sure if you have mentioned it another of your minimalism videos, but I think is also very important message (for environment) is to encourage people to not just throw things out but take it to donation places or up it up for free/super cheap on Craig's lists/ gum tree so it will go to a good home rather than landfill.
