7 days Living Like Casey Neistat is COMPLETE! Wow. What a week.
His schedule is absolutely insane and I always wanted to try it and see if I could do it. And so I did and this is what happened...
From insights into work, productivity, health, mental growth, strength and more, I got more out of taking part in the #LivingLikeCasey challenge than I would have ever expected.
If you would like to try this lifestyle for yourself and see what you're capable of and want to see if you can get the same, better or similar results that I had, join the fun online and use the hashtag #LivingLikeCasey all over your socials. It'll help you stay accountable too.
CASEY NEISTAT'S SCHEDULE:
- Wake up between 4-5am
- 5-7am - work
- 7-7:30 - breakfast with Francine
- 8am - 9:45 - run & get ready for day
- 10am-6pm - work
- 6-10pm - family time
- 10-11pm - gym
- 11pm - sleep
I hope you enjoyed this video! Tweet this video at Casey Neistat so it gets his attention!

Let's show him all the people that are taking part in the challenge which is massively bettering us all! What are your thoughts on these challenge videos? Who's routine would you like me to try next?

"I’m tired of reading articles about High Achievers and their workout routines, what they eat for breakfast, which books they read and what color socks they wear. The High Achievers in these stories are just people who have a lot of money. I meet very rich people every day along with lots of people who don’t have much money at all. Rich people are not more together than poor people. They are not smarter or more evolved than people of very modest means. Our society’s definition of a High Achiever is somebody who has hit a bunch of yardsticks that our society set out for them. In my experience the most creative, out of the box thinkers are not the people who work their tails off to hit milestones that other people set for them. Rather, they are people who follow their own path and don’t care whether society approves of them or not. You get to decide what constitutes success in your life. It isn’t up to anybody else to tell you whether or not you are successful. If you are on your path and living your life according to your own values, it doesn’t matter whether anybody else considers you a high achiever, or not." -Liz Ryan

Casey would definitely wear running shoes. Your knees and ankles are probably hurting bc your running mechanics aren't strong enough to run barefoot and treadmills aren't the most forgiving. Minimalist footwear (or lack of footwear) isn't inherantly going to cause injury but it definitely requires really good running form and footstrike as well as a softer running surface like dirt or grass.

Bruh you don't have any idea about her normal training regimen, she may have been working in and out of barefoot running for years for all you know... But sure, let's just all assume she injured herself because barefoot running is bad.
@mattflynnparker
@mattflynnparker 5 лет назад
I think she stopped wearing shoes because she was getting blisters. She also said that she isn't a runner, so I was just pointing out the potential for injury if she were to continue training like this with the stride and conditions she's in. Just a runner trying to help out if I can.

something different motivational videos have taught me is to wake up earlier. I started actually adding some minutes in the morning and yes, as it happened to you after a few first day struggle you kinda get used to it and get the best out of your sleep. And, with the evening "deadline" I actually had to do my duties first after being together with my family and before taking some time to do something relaxing for me like reading a book. So, yes, good timed routines help productivity and help felling better, a more accomplished person. Thank you for sharing, you make me wish to anticipate my alarm clock again :D Sorry for the papyrus

Multiple professionals have come out and said this is a bad routine. You're sacrificing too much sleep for what will amount to a small amount of productivity over time. You will feel the effects of the loss of sleep later in life and wish you would have spent your time a little more wisely.
@mariahirgelova5427
@mariahirgelova5427 5 лет назад
10 hours of work are not that much and 6ish hours of sleep are ok for an adult, and if you condsider he is spending 4 hours a day with family, I guess it´s more than majority of us... I personally would probably sacrifice one workout for a bit more sleep and "me time", but I dont think this is extremne routine...

Mária Hirgelová casey get way less than 6 hours. And he works out right before bed. No idea how he manages and interested in how it’ll affect him. There is this anecdote about the guy who said “ you can sleep when you’re dead”. Apparently he died at age 34.

Thanks for the reminder that that is just as important probably moreso. Hope you’re having a great day!

Congrats!!! The day Casey uploaded his video I decided to get up at 4:30 every day, too and work for 2 hours before kids get up. It has really made a big difference in my productivity. I'm absolutely loving the early wake ups. What I probably love best is that I'm in a MUCH better mood for when kids get up because it's like the middle of the day for me already. PAHAHAHA. It was interesting, BUT: This guy is a father, and yet he spends "only" a couple of hours with his family in the evening. I'd just like to stress, that his daily routine, his achievements are only possible, because someone else is doing the care work - whether this may be his wife, a nanny, school, kindergarden, etc.

He probably spend more time with his family than most extremely successful entrepreneurs. I'm DEFINITELY not successful and I only spend on a good day 2 hours with the family. Awake and gone to work before my wife wakes up and gets the kids up and ready for school and then by the time I make it home from work after sitting in horrible traffic and whatnot, I would be home an hour or 2 before the kids would have to go to bed. Shower WITH my wife was pretty much my alone time with her, and pass out from exhaustion, get a few hours of sleep, rinse and repeat.

@@minielle4407 I don't think that is what Pheove was trying to say. It just seems like people idolize Casey Neistat because he seems to be on top of it all and he is super successful... For the past few months I've been trying to adjust my circadian rhythm. I'm so inspired by your recent videos about casey and tim, but I'm also glad that you're talking about the hardships as well. I can really relate to that. Me personally, I try to incoporate one ritual every week while trying to find out which ones work for me. Not sticking to a routine after a week is my biggest risk factor, so I´m taking it slow and steady while building up to the Neistat/Ferris level. If I were to incorporate morning runs in the morning, I'd be done in about 3 days. I know I want to incorporate that soon though :)

I feel like this whole "you should be always productive" mentality is inherently wrong. No, you should not be doing something meaningful all the time. Sometimes you need to sit and watch a movie, or play a videogame, or just stare at the wall, for god's sake. And you need sleep! Excercises are awful without a proper rest, so is overloading your brain. If you "waste" some time of the day doing nothing, it's OK. Don't let those youtubers spoil it.
@NewBoy0606

Wow, the pace of this schedule is freaking scary! Your dedication to it was absolutely inspiring. ❤ I'm trying to figure out how I could make something like it work for me - I live alone, so family time every day isn't really doable, and I work freelance, so I often have to work late or through meals (which is what leads to a crappy eating schedule, too). I might take the plunge and start with waking up early - but I need to invest in a better alarm clock, because the phone just isn't doing it.

Omg thank you Sorelle once again for amazing insight! I used to be exactly like that; waking up at 4am and being overly productive and gym junky. But then I got into the trap of being a workaholic, and put my job first, overworking myself so I would use my mornings to get some sleep and put everything else in my life behind. Thank you for reminding me I need to go back to my productive lifestyle where i wake up early so I can focus on myself too on top of work during the day ❤️

I don't think I could do Casey's routine personally, I'm not the biggest fan of waking up before... 8am. And I also don't really love working out that intensely. But I do appreciate the need to a schedule and I've been slowly implementing one into my own life that suits my lifestyle and goals, and it's definitely been helping with my productivity. Congratulations on getting through this Sorelle, you are a champ! I hope Casey notices!

I've been trying to get up at 5:30 and when I manage it, it makes all the difference in the world. I'm not driving to work in a haze or feeling like I want the day to end already at 8am lol. I can sit with my cats and a cup of tea, meditate, stretch (this makes the day so much better?), do anything really. I love it. Keep up the wonderful work you've been doing.

I think it's good to have a solid routine for productivity and some form of exercise is essential, but you have to love it. Casey finds it easy because 1, he's just built that way, he just does it without much planning, and second, running and hitting the gym are things he loves to do. Do those same things if you loathe doing them is just more of a pain in the ass than offering you some form of enlightenment and progress. Congrats on completing it though!
