Inventor Dave Segal tells us about the inspiration that led to NAQI, his invention to replace the mouse, keyboard, and voice commands to control computers, video games, wheelchairs, and the Internet of Things by using nearly invisible facial and head movements. This non-invasive technology, which fits into an earbud, has the potential to be an alternative to brain implants as well as be the ultimate assistive technology for people with disabilities.
#TEDxStGeorge #TEDxTalk #esports #Disabilities Dave is an innovator. He has 20+ international patents and patent continuations focused on brain-computer interface (BCI) logic and micro-gestural computing frameworks and technologies. These patents formed the foundation of his current start-up, Naqi Logix Inc., which develops technologies that enable users to provide complex input and navigation into devices without speaking to the device, touching the device or even looking at the device: all non-invasively using next-generation smart earbuds and a new technology platform. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
