The soviets were so paranoid that they would be invaded by NATO that they built their power grid with double and triple backups. That's why Ukraine still has power. And soviet military is built to be used on soviet terrain, close to home. It's kinda funny that we were scared of a red invasion when they were more scared.
Just as well you're not doing this circa 2024, you would have to simulate the entire UK force having their passports inspected and completing immigration checks.
@@gristlybillow7050 Correction, 53% of England (that voted) chose this for Britain. There are a lot of English who feel hard done by, I'd reckon half that leave vote in England have realised the mistake they made.
The Viggen is such a pretty plane. I like the "Double Bubble" canopies on the trainer version. I honestly didn't know that the Strike Eagle was capable of using Fox-1s (AIM-7s)
With the Kola map you almost must have the Viggan. It just doesn’t feel complete without that iconic jet. I am still trying to wrap my head around it, but what a marvelous aircraft. Perfectly made for that terrain
Cute scenario, but it never, EVER would have happened in real life. I met several Polish soldiers, in Warsaw, in February 1988. They were drunk to the point that they didn't care if anyone heard what they had to say. Through a translator, they openly said that if the Soviets ever told the Poles to get ready to invade Western Europe, the moment they were given ammunition they would have turned around and attacked the Soviets. Their hatred for the Communists was that great that the Russians knew to put their best forces behind the Poles (and the Hungarians, the Czechs, etc.) knowing what those countries would do if given the opportunity to fight. The Poles would have turned around and fought their overlords than attack NATO. Oh, the Polish soldiers also said the only people they hated more than the Russians were the French and British. Why? Because those countries promised to come to Poland's defense in 1939 if they were ever invaded. When Germany entered eastern Poland and the French/British forces didn't help it created tremendous distrust and hatred that I bet still lingers today. Oh, and they loved Americans.
Wow... 16 minutes and two spam posts already... Great video guys... Still watching but it's great so far! (Though I admit I'd love to see what stealth would do in this situation)
The F3 Tornado was in service but not in the Rhine/West Germany region because it really couldn't cope in a dogfight with much, so the FGR2s were still being used until the early 1990s.
@@ivorharden To be honest, the RAF Phantoms performed well at low level where most RAF Germany planes were expected to fight. The Tomcat is more manoeuvable and has greater thrust/weight but it is also bigger and would not be able to use it's abilities at height owing to how dangerous the surface to air environment would have been.
@@ivorharden The reason everyone on the northern sector (where the RAF were deployed) operated under 250ft was the danger of SAMs. Fighting at height was thought to be a very rapid suicide.
Hello Best Cap, Super Cap and the beautiful boys. Love the content, informative, entertaining and great fun. Can you tell me the origins of some of the Lingo you use e.g. winchester, rifle, angels etc. Many thanks and keep up the fab work.
But, PLEASE do provide an example - we're good we Brits, at languages, PLUS, I drive a Saab - best car I've EVER owned for sure. So, do you state the V as the German W and the I as an eee?
Not yet , but there is one in development by aviastorm, the German IDS version to be exact and I thing it will take at least 2 years until hier to fly it
@@FlybywireTheGerman Thanks for the info! I was wondering what difference a high-speed fighter/bomber with ground-hugging capabilities might've made in this scenario over the Harrier.
@@ericx777 as Ride now the planes with a similar capability are the F15E and the Viggen , too some extent also the F-4E and the Mirage F-1 but that both lagging the low altitude terrain radar and engines tweekt for low flying performance
