There is one thing you forgot to mention. The relationship and bond the kids would have with these partners. Like zoe and tinkermon not geting along at the start becauce of how both of them are too much. Bearmon helping koichi feel less guilty. Etc.

For koichi I'll put demi devimon and the whole devimon line as that line is always from what I've seen a evil line having it be a good line but keep the devil theme would be interesting maybe with a new mega showing its dark nature but good intent a mega based on the demiurge.

Giving Koji lunamon is perfect and it made me realize no male protagonist has had a female partner and we definitely need some of that! Lunamon could act motherly twords him since he was raised with his father and had issues with his step mother

Zoe's line here also kinda works as a psuedo reference to the frontier movie where the villain is a darkmon that slide evolves into hypogrifomon to play both sides of a digimon conflict. Who then also evolves into a giant bird digimon.

I loved frontier and I didn't mind on the turn into digimon gimmick as it added more to the humans. In previous seasons the humans only did digivolution as part of there partnership mostly. But frontier added something new to the table where the characters can actively attend in battles.

There was also a higher level of Risk in fighting one or more of the antagonists, as losing to them usually resulted in having themselves losing one of their Spirits as well as the segment of the Digital World they were fighting over. Oftentimes that meant one or more characters would be unable to fight further until their Spirit was won back from whoever took it, and that increased the odds against those trying to _get_ said Spirits back!

I absolutely see Duftmon as a perfect mega level partner for Koichi, since is a Lion/Leopard digimon and most of his attacks are based in darkness Also, Duftmon mode change is a perfect reference to the humanoid/best duality of the spirits

I think the Frontier would've been a lot better had the spirits had more personalities. We see a touch of this in the very end when the gang are brought back to the human world, but I think the spirit mechanic would've been a lot more welcome had the spirits had conversations with their partners (i.e. biomerge from Tamer or Tailed beasts from Naruto). It would also make for a great way to show the struggle they had to go through to "tame" their beast spirits. IDK this video and the recent announcement of the Frontier DIMs brought this idea to mind, and I thought it'd be neat.

@@anthonyvillanueva5226 well... the kids are only a sloppy tool of the script to justify a evolution in a X moment with the all mighty "POWER OF FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE", and when the digimon evolve they become just killing machines that growls every now and then when they make a super move or something... the humans aren't really needed to have a great story... in fact... one of the best stories don't have any humans, digimon chronicle X (until jesmon GX and ogudomon X appear, until then is really good, after that... not so much XD) and one of the best, if not the BEST, movie of digimon don't have humans either, digimon X evolution...

I would love it if you took one of these partner-changing videos (or partner-giving in this case?) and made a quick pitch of how would you make a series around it. Nothing fancy, just a basic presmise, one or two relevant twists and the final objective of the season. This kind of videos are always a lot of fun, and I think you could make some real cool stuff taking it one step ahead!

I think doing somehing with Anubismon would feel great for Koichi. Working well with Dobermon and Cerberumon. You can do a lot with cerberumons werewolf mode as his good form or unlocking when he switches to the good team. Anubismon also ties in with AncientSphinxmon and works well as a discount holy digimon, having overcome the darkness, but still having many dark aspects. But damn the Dianamon and Apollomon fit so well xD

Great content, again I used to hate Frontier, but then I rewatched it a few years ago and actually loved it! I'm still not a fan of the "sentai" gimmick, but loved the animation and characters. All that it is lacking is partner digimons and a less rushed ending. Big fan of your picks!

I think another good mega for JP could be Kazuchimon. He is electricity based and the horns on his helmet are reminiscent of Ballistamon's.

Hooray for more Dawn/Dusk rep! I could definitely see this version of the show focusing more on the Olympos XII instead of the ancient warriors. Plus Plutomon for Koichi, maybe? If you took the Cerberumon route, anyway. Going off the rookies on the DiM, I'd say Gazimon=>Fangmon(?)=>Cerberumon=>Plutomon. It'd kind of tie him back to his brother's originally more wolfish line, but also they'd both have rabbit-like rookies. Gazimon being the darker end, and Lunamon the light. Then I'd maybe give Minervamon to Zoe as her partner's mega, and for Tommy.... I'm a bit more iffy about him. Dianamon would work with the ice spirit, but that's already taken. Perhaps Mercurymon or Neptunemon for him, and then in this version he'd have either metal or water as his spirit? Or, since his spirit's forms are always a bit more animal-like, maybe Ceresmon. I'm not sure. ....Mostly I just want more of that sweet Olympos XII rep.

I feel like Tommy's is a nice combo. Hexeblaumon is a magic knight, knights usually are synonymous with courage. Which I believe pairs well with Tommy's story arc. Bulucomon and subsequent evolutions can act as a sort of guide/mentor. Or Bulucomon could have a similar nature/personality as Tommy and could grow with him. Honestly the best combo for character driven story's imo (if that makes sense lol)

For Tommy, I think the Rookie and Mega forms work for him, but honestly I wouldn't go the straight line route and instead have his Champion be Frigimon and his Ultimate be Panjyamon. That way you get in that Kumamon ice-bear reference at its champion stage and Panjyamon has visual similarities to Korikkakumon and doubles as a reference to the Ice area in Sakkakumon where he was the digimon fought. As for Koichi, I don't know what I'd suggest but I'm not feeling his line. I think the issue is that it feels out of place since his element isn't represented in it like the others have. Maybe dropping the whole Leomon thing and focusing the line around the Cerberusmon idea is the way to go.

I remember running across this strange show on Disney XD. It reminded me a lot of digimon. The two little creatures even had "mon" in their name. Was this a digimon series I hadn't heard of? Where are the rest of the kids digimon? Then, one of the kids turned into a digimon and my little mind was never more confused and excited. I could canonically have a digimon friend and turn into one myself.

I was never bothered by Frontier's gimmick at all. My introduction to Digimon was the VHS Digimon movie which had a trailer for Power Rangers Time Force. I guess the connection between Digimon and Power Rangers always existed for me.

Hello Karn!!! Well, greta choices. Regarding Takuya and Kouji, YES, you had to do it! I would've been betrayed if you hadn't 😂 but I would've gone with Penguinmon > Frigimon > Panjyamon > Frostbelgmon (it keeps a bear/penguin/beast theme and goes full-circle with the last one). And Koichi, I would have picked: Gazimon > Dobermon > Cerberumon > Plutomon 🖤

As much as I like the idea of using the Lunamon and Coronamon lines for Koji and Takuya, I don't think GraceNovamon needs a Merciful Mode style upgrade. Gracenovamon is already several orders of magnitude above a force of nature, probably duking it out with ZeedMilleniummon for who's the bigger cheese.

Not sure if you knew this or not but in digimon ReArise the ultimate level digimon they gave for the bearmon line is cerberumon, so that’s either known or a really funny coincidence

Honestly, if Frontier was rebooted and given partners, the real way that would make sense to me and not be jarring is if the partners and ultimately lead up to the Olympus XII. Like it feels like an easy natural shift with the pre-existing Digimon we have and a group that is similar to Legendary Warriors. Could even have those forms from original Frontier be Oracles or Disciples of the 12

My pitch for Frontier would actually involve giving them partners, except the partner Digimon would be rookie spirits and in order to evolve would need their partner children as physical hosts. While I was watching this I ended up thinking about the Agumon and Gabumon lines... The first three members of their line you can SEE the resemblance, but then the mega has a drastic change. What if the mega looked more like them?

When I clicked on this video, I thought it was part of the "Give Digimon Pokemon" line of videos and I was wondering why you skipped Tamers ;-) Still, fun video. I thnk I am the only person who was more or less neutral on the Spirit fusions. I like the idea in theory but I don't think it was handled very well.

now that we got frontier DiMs, Savers Dims would be interested in what they pull from. i mean being surprised they didn't have partners but when you think of the Sentai standing Toei has, fitting two of it's series had some sentai influence. Frontier and Xros Wars/Fusion

What are DiMs? I can't find that information anywhere although I assume they are like the Digivices from when I was a little girl. Sorry for the awkward question I mostly followed the Digimon Anime rather than the merchandise.

@@bookmew1081 DiMs are these little USBs that work with the Vital Bracelet or Digivice V. The Vital Bracelet/V are basically Digimon VPets as fitbits. The DiMs each contain a set of Digimon thst you can train and evolve into by meeting different conditions. Karn recently did a video making DiMs he hopes to happen.

sooo~ Tommy got the cool and awesome Digimon? Nice owo okay getting my pun out of the way I didn't really think of Super Sentai when I watched Frontier, I actually loved it concept (the stuff we have in the anime XD), as I had grown somewhat tired of the cast of characters being to big to focus on everyone. So Frontier having kids turning INTO the digimon was so cool to me, that it would actually give the show more time to focus on the characters owo but hey that's just my opinion here XD p.s - Lunamom and Kouji....I just saw their first meeting being soo cute and funny at the same time XD in my head XD lol
