Pin this. Seems like most people here aren't aware of the 2013 Christian Whitehead remaster of sonic 2. It stayed exclusive to mobile until origins came out. It actually had (and still has) online multiplayer, which was taken out in origins in favor of the local multiplayer. But it's a *NIGHTMARE* to find a match tho

I wish there was an online multiplayer for two people to help each other out! So basically you’d have sonic and knuckles going through ALL of sonic 3 and k together! Imagine sonic and knuckles fighting through sky sanctuary together 😮😮

So basically there's a multiplayer for playing all the zones together with a friend but unfortunately there isn't no online (I completed sonic 3 with my bro)
This is really cool and this has a lot of potential I think it would be fun trolling random people and maybe a win system and if you win a game then you get coins and over all this would be a fun experience so I really hope that Sega sees this and decides to make it or at least something in this sort of theme. The Sega Megadrive and Genesis Classics on Steam already has official online multiplayer support and it contains Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The Kega Fusion emulator also supports this and it works pretty well.
It would’ve been cool if there was an online co-op like Mario maker two so that maybe there will be secret passage ways that would you would need all three to be in the same place like what the thumbnail said it would make traversing marble zone look like a cakewalk

Maybe for not just a racing feature in the online multipler maybe you evem could play the game normally with online friends trying to both work together to beat the story basically and even the levels
What if Sonic 1 introduced Amy as a second playable character? Along with both 2-Player modes: Co-Op and VS? While the Spin Dash was thought of sooner. While also including a few more Zones based on Japan, China, SE Asia, and the Moon(based on the early-concept arts)? With only 2-Acts per-Zone. With Scrap Brain Act 2 and Final Zone being the same Act. And all levels are easy, fun, and fast-paced like in Sonic 2?
it would have been closer to a good product. of course removing MJs music, removing content and bugfixes by the developers, and being shitty to said devs who helped with the sega renaissance that sega seems to not like. guess they dont like selling many copies of games? Definitely hurting my desire to buy that other sonic game, if this is the "celebration" they came up with, i mean a cheap nostalgia cash-grab? this could have been so much better... hell i might have paid $60 if they didn't ruin it...
Did y'all know that in sonic 2 mobile there IS an online multiplayer. You and your friend just need a google play games account! Also you need to select in-game age older than 13
