In this story instand of eggman fighting sonic. he decides to change his plans and goes after the chaos emeralds (note: sonic didnt collect the chaos emeralds and so eggman was able to locate the big rings.) eggman built metal sonic inorder to get the chaos emeralds (ofc sega made cd come after sonic 1 and not sonic 2)
