It’s very nice to see another What If creator that uses original art Editing and mic quality are great too Though, I’d recommend making the art full screen when it comes up, and putting the gameplay in when you’re just detailing the scene It’ll help with allowing the viewer appreciate the art more\ As for the story itself, it’s going an interesting direction Using the two worlds thing is an interesting choice, especially since that is no longer canon But I like the brotherly relationship between Sonic & Shadow And having the two meet Abraham will definitely make the eventual Shadow the Hedgehog arc interesting Overall, I think this is a decent start It will be neat to see how Sonic and Eggman’s dynamic changes thanks to this
I love how Sonic remembers them but doesn't remember all the details it's still allows him to have some mystery to his past similar to Shadow but he still knows who shadowed Maria and robotnik are I can't wait for them to meet each other again I really want to know what their reactions are
I'm seriously curious how the events of SA2 will play out since eggman will still manipulate Shadow and his memories a bit fuddled thinking Maria wanted revenge on the humans, will he still call sonic a faker
Wait sonic is fully grown (like fully 15 and modern sonic shaped?).... Theres so much evidence that sonic gets stronger as he ages .... If he starts his adventure from this point on when hes clearly older (and while yes has a weaker handle on his powers that could be easily fixed when he gets trought sonic 1 and b 2) ..... he can grow to be much faster and so much stronger than his canon counter part.... Wich is terryfing! No wonder hes the embodiment of potențial by forces this hog will make flash look like a chump!

SORRY ABOUT THE WAIT I guess my mind slipped about this NOW down to buessness (And by that I mean now to explain more on this what if idea) Basically the story plays out the same Almost Gerald meets black doom Black doom gives Gerald his DNA Gerald tends to use the DNA for project shadow as effort to cure maria But this is where things take a turn a little Gerald begins to think about this for a moment. He starts to think about maria and how he could instead be using this time to help her And then it struck him What he really needs is to find a cure for his grand daughter So what if instead of proceeding to use the black arms DNA for project shadow He instead (if all goes well) He could use the black arms DNA AS the cure From there on project shadow was scrapped and Gerald begins work on his new antidote AND IT WORKS!!!! maria makes a full recovery and Gerald just may have discovered the cure for all known and unknown diseases Yes sir the formula did it's job But unknown to both maria and Gerald She did make a recovery But with a few unexpected ✌️side affects✌️ Eventually maria states that although she was cured She can't help but feel a little bit weird Later on Gerald discovers what was causing it Turns out not only did the formula made from black arms DNA rid maria of her illness It changed her More specifically It granted her ultimate power She was faster Stronger More edgile than before And she could perform chaos control All the things shadow could do (Or in this case. Could have done) Gerald is joyed for his grand daughter for gaining such abilities But soon grows worried for her So he gives her the inhibitor rings he made for shadow to help her with controlling her powers (along with giving her his rocket shoes as well) After wich he knew this required further research But eventually word got out to g.u.n on the events and raided the space arc to apprehend Gerald and Maria for Unauthorized/elligal human experimentation Maria escapes thru a pod But Gerald didn't make it And with that the rest of the story plays out about the same The rest is up to you
While I absolutely reject Iizuka's "two worlds" nonsense, in your hypothetical scenario as you present it, I'll give you that there's not much else you could have done.
It's back to just 1 world. Quite a while ago, a web series created by Sega: Tailstube has been going on answering questions that lots of fans have, by framing them through in universe characters. And yes, Tails is the host
During the production of Sonic Colours, Takashi Iizuka was asked about the human and anthros, during an interview, and he said that the Sonic games take place in two worlds. One where the humans live, and the other where the anthros live. I don't know if this has since been retconned, but it's the cannon that I'm working off of for this.

Must uh, sting a little cuz they retconned the "two worlds" explanation out of canon in Tailstube. Sonic and the humans live on the same planet, but Sonic and hist friends live on islands rather than the main continents. Thankfully the Sonic lore is gonna be more coherent going forward thanks to the new lore team and Ian Flynn.
