I think it's more along the line that he knew Anakin was suffering, but because the Dark Side was clouding their vision, they couldn't tell exactly what was going on.

Yoda may have kept it secret, for Anakin’s sake, and understanding the reason for his pain. I think this is one of those things that the Council never got the chance to address regarding Anakin and his path to becoming a Jedi Knight due to the timing of the Clone Wars.

My favorite alternate timeline is Qui-Gon being forced to leave the Order, training Anakin on his own. Traveling across the Outer Rim together, helping people and kicking ass as the ultimate duo.

Legally, Anakin committed mass manslaughter against the tuskens, he was temporarily insane due to emotional distress and hallucinating due to the dark side power boost Padme would have quit the senate before quitting Anakin when the Jedi shunned him (it was killing the youngling Padawans that REALLY did it for her)

This was cool. I think that if the story did end with Anakin being alive and redeemed he would still have to answer for his war crimes, so it wouldn’t necessarily be a “they lived happily after” type ending. But great video, though!

Yeah, even if he had lived the Rebellion would demand Anakin be tried for his crimes. Padme would probably intercede on his behalf for a reduced sentence but that would be the extent of it. That or Luke, Vader, and Padme taking off in the dark of night with Anakin in tow to live in exile.

@@macwelch8599 probably so, plus it would be hard to convince the rebels that he is fully redeemed, seeing how diabolical the Sith are and all. Perhaps Luke and Leia could convince them to keep him alive and maybe at a prison like the Citadel? Or maybe they freeze him in carbonite and let him out once a year for visitation?

@@bearsimmonette8943 I think they could get him a life sentance to the citadel, probably stored in carbonite most of the time, if he helped them defeat the imperial remnant. He'd tell them about exogol too and then the sequels would never happen.

In a deleted scene from AotC, Mace Windu actually is shown to be more supportive of Anakin rather than Obi-Wan, who was filled with doubt. So I don't think Mace would've sent a probe droid to spy on Anakin.

I watched Episodes 1, 2 and 3 recently and the root cause of Anakin's downfall was the guilt of leaving his mother and the grief of losing her. Why, in the years when he was trained did he, or the Jedi, not buy her from slavery? Surely they could have done, and this may have stopped him from going down the dark path. You could also point to Obi Wan not killing him when he had the chance in Ep 3, but thay was likely a moral choice.

I don't think Vader will fall to Obi wan the same way on Mustarfar. If it's Darth Sidious you would expect him not to fail this jump, so should Vader at that point, as he was more proficient in the dark side.

I feel like Luke and Leia would have never been conceived if the council found out bout the Tuskens. That is if Padame had to pull back from their relationship due to the circumstances being brought to light. At that point Padame wasn't pregnant and I just don't see their relationship going the same way with all that brought to light.

I feel like the council would have counseled Anakin more on his dark actions together as a group more intensively. This was such a huge eye-opening thing, and having it just be one on one council with Yoda seems a tad thrown to the side. I feel like the council would be very involved in the psychology of what Anakin did, and why he did it and focus a lot of their efforts towards truly changing the chosen one back to the light, since they think he’s the chosen one, the gravity of the situation becomes so much greater I don’t think he would just be talking to Yoda.

I actually think anakin would push away against the dark side because of the shame he felt from the Jedi, obi wan and especially padme. As he would realize the weight of what he did instead of brushing it off soon after like in the movie.

The one thing I’m unsure about is: if Anakin was in “timeout” throughout the Clone Wars, then dabbling in the dark side or not, I think his combat prowess would have suffered as a result. TCW accelerated his development as a knight, and sitting around doing nothing during those 3 years (except maybe kinda sorta feeling out the dark side under Palps) surely means he stagnated and didn’t progress the way he did in the real timeline… that is, unless Palps turned him shortly after TCW began, and Anakin trained in secret under him while publicly remaining a Jedi… 🤔

And if Anakin had been training under Palpatine in secret for some/all of TCW, then high ground or not, Kenobi doesn’t stand a chance in 9/10 duels by the time they square off on Mustafar. Anakin would just rag doll him off a cliff.

For a bunch of cultivators that dress as if they were ancient Chinese, they seem to hold a strange view on clan extermination. In the stories, cultivators who slaughter entire families and clans were typical. It is historical also. Read "Romance of the 3 Kingdoms" book, and you'll see the heroes of old routinely massacred the whole family of opposing generals. For example, Ma Chao was one of the first the novel discussed that practiced this. He slaughtered the families of opposing generals when he took a city. Later, those people took a city and brought Ma Chao's family to the top of the walls where Ma Chao and his army watched them chopped to pieces and thrown down to them. Ma Chao was one of the tiger generals with great renown and worked directly for the Shu Emperor. Apparently practices like this left no stain. A vicious time and a vicious people.

Ive got a good fanfic idea, and im not sure if its been done before but i think its pretty good, basically palpatine was so powerful he could hide his darkside while in the presence of jedi masters such as yoda, my fanfic idea is "what if darth sideous went undercover as i jedi" like from a young age while still secretly training under darth plagueis to overthrow the republic and get closer to anakin

@A crane I agree in the original timeline that Anakin would lose. However, in this one, he had two more years of dark side training. which means he should have been better able to control his rage. In this timeline, Anakin also dispatched Windu, who gave Palpatine a huge challenge, pretty easily.

obi-wan used a forbidden lightsaber technique to disarm & disleg anakin on the high ground. anakin was consumed by anger, rage & arrogance & obi-wan took advantage. by no means did obi-wan ever defeat anakin, but rather like maul & even palpatine, he defeated himself.

Does this alternate Timeline mean that Obi-Wan wouldn't have died? I mean if Leia was also directly trained as a Jedi, she wouldn't have been on that ship and gotten captured by Vader. So the rescuing of her by Obi-Wan, Luke (who didn't know her), Han etc. wouldn't have been necessary, which means, they wouldn't have gone to the death star to save her, Obi-Wan hadn't confronted Vader and Vader hadn't killed him. Right?

I think if the council would have done something knowing about the Tuscans Anakin wouldn’t have turned to the dark side ! One of the biggest issues to his downfall was feeling alone ! If Yoda or even Mace reached out and tried to help him deal with his grief , we would have seen a different outcome ! Palps got into a Anakins head because he was their for him ! Unlike thee Jedi that didn’t try and reach out ! If outside Ben one other master took and intersect and tried to help him I believe we would never have seen a Darth Vader ! Now his relationship with Padme would have caused issues I don’t think his dreams of her passing in childbirth would have happened without Palps pulling the strings of the dark side !

This is what happens when you focus too much on the law , the law is binary it has no feelings , the dark is all feeling it has no order , you need both to keep balance within they system this is why Anakin was here to bring balance, yes the force made him and the family suffer but it was ultimately to bring down those that were really doing harm to the galaxy
