I saw C'thun i click. Old God's Priest is something i REALLY wanted since Whispers of the Old God's.

I always wanted to see the shadow form espanded in some ways, like I'd love to see cards that had different effects when in shadow form, or cards that allowed for a playstyle that relies on switching between normal and shadow forms (like the Watcher in Slay the Spire with the Fury and Quiet Aspects), as such this idea kinda fits my desire, I hope that they'll print more cards like Benedictus

Honestly would love to see something like this implemented in HS. Also think an interesting concept for a card would be is to make it have a different effect, depending on whether you're in Shadowform or not. Great video as always, keep up the great work!

Happy Halloween everyone! Decided to take a bit of different approach with this revisit focusing on just a single much larger mechanic, hope you enjoyed it! As we begin to get closer and closer to the finale of this series I just want to say how much I appreciate the support you've all given me thus far. It's crazy to me how much this channel has grown with these fun little concepts. So thank you all so much for tuning in!

Incredible as always! The Insanity support cards were spot on, I could totally see them being cards in the game! Only thing is I wish we saw more of them :P I really liked the animated elements such as the Draenei background and the new Mind Spike hero power! The hero power in particular was very believable, I'm still not sure if you made it or Blizzard updated the in-game one :P

I am not particularly a big fan of shadow priest, mostly because of mind blast salt to be honest, but I still think this is an amazing idea. It’s really similar to the death knight corpse mechanic, also should probably just use the same UI element too, but adds a lot to the class identity. You could have cards that only activate if you’ve never had any insanity, cards that activate if you maintained insanity for multiple turns, and of course as you mentioned cards that get better with your insanity level. There’s a lot of potential to it and I could see myself trying to pick up Priest if it got implemented.

Some great ideas. I would change it a little, take a page from MTG's day/night cycle mixed with the Priest Strats of WoW TCG. If you only cast shadow spells during your turn, your hero power becomes mind spike at the beginning of the following turn. If you only cast holy spells it changes to heal. Priest minions would carry these tags such as shadow fiend that would automatically change your hero power. Like the old WoW TCG archtypes: Shadow=aggro. Holy=grind. Protection would be tempo. Switching between the two to clear threats and protect your minions.

Other more important thing not about priest for all clases is to put a graveyard and 1 dead minion to be res only 1 minion. Not makeing full army from only 1 dead minion.

I concidered touching on a graveyard mechanic for this video, but I ended up feeling like I was satisfied enough with what I had already made and the video was getting quite long haha. Definitely another thing that could be cool for the class!

(sry if i misspell something, i'm not from an english speaking country) What do you think about making the bar with 10 slots instead of 5? Instead of reseting every turn, holy spells move it left(remove point if the bar is filled to the right or add point if it is filled to the middle or empty) & shadow spells move it right(basically the opposite). In general cards that interact w/ the left side would be more control, w/ boardclears & healing, or midrange, w/ overheal, health buffs & silence, while cards that interact w/ the left would be more aggro, w/ tokens or direct damage, or tempo, like great stated minions, general buff effects & thief mechanics, & you could also make cards more focused on maintaining a balance & staying on the middle for even more variety. Your hero power is heal 2 if you're not to the right(yes, including in the middle) & deals 1 if you are, then you can make cards that use how far you are from the center or cards that have effects if on one side, & cards that lock one side or move the bar in some way. For example shadowform now would lock the left side & make your mind spike to deal 1 more damage, to justify the problem we had before when running 2 copies & make it playable with darkbishop benedictus who would be changed in the same way(locking the left would also make so you don't switch to healing when on the middle).

Ngl during the first half of the video, I thought this was released before Darkmoon Faire because it sounded like you weren't aware of Shadow Priest. That being said, if you have Surrender to Madness could be so much better design with this.

To be entirely honest, it feels bad to be forced to switch hero powers for casting a shadow spell immediately… feels like it should be 2 insanity or something… like some control options are shadow spells too, which leads me to liking the heal more still.

I genuiely love the mechanic but I feel you should game some kind of card(s) for getting certain levels of insanity? possibly even corrupting normal priest cards? not sure how it would work but it sounds absoleuly cool as hell!

Very interesting. I should mention that based on the way that hero power swapping works, it always refreshes the hero power. With raza, that may go out of control. Though you can very easily change it so the hero power does not refresh. Insanity is cool, although seems to be rather minor akin to corpses. I think the C’Thun could be 7 mana, as permanent max insanity is not worth the terrible tempo play imo. Edit: I just remembered what I wanted to mention when I started. I think insanity as a priest-specific mechanic may suck for other classes generating priest cards, as they cannot make use of the insanity, similar to dk’s corpses before they changed it.

How does this mechanic work with upgraded hero powers? Does Baku increase shadowform damage to 3 damage for example?

Does gaining more than 1 insanity give any additional benefits? (Except for the insanity lover cards)

No other benefits tied to the mechanic directly, but I'd imagine there would be lots of cards that interact with it in very different ways.

Two points I'd like to make; I think insanity should be called madness instead and how does the corrupted hero power work with cards like Baku that upgrade the hero power?

I really like this idea, but I think it’s weird how you never mentioned that if you played the Shadowform card twice, you would have a hero power dealing 3 damage rather than 2

Felt a bit irrelevant to the video as that mechanic was actually removed from the original Shadowform card when it was buffed to 2 Mana. Originally I did want to have the hero power scale in some way with your Insanity to capture that essence of the OG Shadowform, but decided that would make it a lot harder to balance the mechanic and so simplifying it felt like the right choice.

@@bionicdoor I actually hadn’t realized they changed how OG Shadowform works (I had a long break from the game and only play standard), so that makes a lot more sense. Thanks for clearing it up, and sorry for the incorrect criticism

Yea, my few memories of the cards were mostly the old Reno shadow priest that Kibler played, which had 2 Shadowforms - I mostly wanted to point it out since it would affect your card that doubles damage and healing from your hero power, since then it would deal 6 damage, which for a 2 mana hero power would be kinda strong
