I've always assumed there were more living in some huge futuristic planet.

Great episode! Two points I think you missed: 1. If thousands or all came AND there was some division into the Skesis and Urhu as happened with just 18, it would be likely that not all Urskeks would split. Those that didn't (nearly all, most, some, a few? hard to tell) would also be players in this alternate scenario and would be far more powerful together or individually than any other being. They would likely completely abhor what had happened, given their views on the original 18's fixation on dualism, and would want to take responsibility for containing any damage, but what that would look like and how it would be resolved we have no way of knowing. Maybe they would just wait for the next conjunction and use it to GTFO and return home, leaving what would be considered a terrible but regrettably unfixable mistake behind. 2. The likelihood of the Skesis waging war on and killing off the Urhu is very VERY low. Just as the prequel comic showed, within moments of coming into creation the Skeksis desire to harm and kill others was immediately tempered by their realisation that harming and killing an Urhu meant harming and killings themselves, and you really had no way of knowing if that would be your opposite or not (and this was whilst they were effectively Skekis babies and didn't know anything). Possibly the Skeksis and Urhu have some kind of instinct that means they can tell who is connected to whom (or at least who is their opposite), but if you were a Seksis would you really want to gamble your own life (something you will protect at all costs) on killing an Urhu knowing you were playing a form of Russian roulette? I suspect more likely they would do a "you have your empire, we have ours" approach knowing the Urhu wouldn't interfere.

Surely the SkekSis couldn't hunt the UrRu without also killing themselves though, right?

Skeksis wouldn't lead a campaign of destruction against the urru, not if it meant their deaths. More likely, different kingdoms of skeksis would seek out and destroy the urru counterparts of their rivals and enemy skeksis to kill them more easily.

I have these character ideas, witch is Skek Magi, Ur Wise and Magiwise. Magiwise knows all sorts of magic and would enjoy to teach magic to those who want to learn it. When the crystal cracked he turned into Skek Magi and Ur Wise.

wow that would be crazy !! and interestingly intriguing! Although I consider that with the passing of the years the number of Skeksis and Urru would inevitably end up reducing, since the Skeksis would be the cause due to their constant greed without limits, causing the revelation of the Gelfflin and the events of the Dark Crystal movie, although maybe as you mentioned new factions maybe it will be a battle of epic scales and with brutal side effects ..

Raunip would be mighty upset for sure. With that many urskeks it would basically be like living amongst magical beings, would sickness and death even be a thing on thra with their powers? If they were to split the skeksis would become a LOT less careful and probably be more cool killing each other given they have a population to trim down. Wait what is the gelfling population anyway?

That's how I originally thought they became a critically endangered species to begin with by the time the Dark Crystal began, there were multitudes of Skek'sis and Mystics, and through conflict with each-other they whittled their nubmers down to the brink of extinction. Of course the Skek'Sis would stop this very soon, only a couple hundred would die at the most before Skek'So abolished hunting Ur'Ru. But then when the Age of Resistance began when the Gelfling began trying to remove the Skek'Sis, many Ur'Ru aided them, and as a result the several hundred now became ten, a pyrhhic victroy for the Skek'Sis, and very good cause for them to fear the "cleansing flame" of Thra. Though 1,800 is still a small number, outside the main settlements there are other cities, I think the total Gelfling population at "Age of Resistance" may have been somewhere in the neighborhood 150,000 to 200,000.

I still wish we knew which of the UrSkeks was Darkheart. That’s never been clear.

two things one what would happen if there were a number of ursekks left and only the ones closest to the crystal itself where effected. second it's also possible there would be no actuall fighting between the urru and skeksis as there lives are bound, thus when one dies both die so the skeksis would likly ether round them up if possible but not actully harm, or just leave them alone out of fear.

There could be but the First event actually managed to sent quite a lot of them to their home according to comics although I would like to know why the Urskeks never intervened with their species attacks on an entirely another world maybe they see it as not their problem

A lot of the Urhu would probably be taken prisoner as a way to make sure they don't die and get their skeksis killed (especially as rival skeksis groups would target the Urhu of enemy skeksis) or as hostages to keep the skeksis linked to them in line. Being able to administer punishments remotely by torturing one's Urhu would likely be common practice.

Since the 18 UrSkeks on Thra were exiled for believing in the duality of soul and conducting experiments with their home planet's crystal it's highly possible that a majority of non heretic UrSkeks wouldn't allow the Great Division or, at least, wouldn't take part on the experiment. So we would have maybe some more mystics and skeksis to deal with but an overwhelming force of UrSkeks with all of their abilities and technology to oppose.

Uru are psychics thought I do not think Skeksis could defeat them I mean on comics they literally mentally create artificial conjunctions!

If Skeksis should ever fight eachother then consider the Urru population

Yk I always thought that there was a world full of Urskeks but all being in a group like gourmond or slave master and these prticular 18 that came did somethign wrong like destroyed something or were like you said pitxast and decided to leave all together.

Not gonna lie man. I think these what if videos are way premature. There are still so many things that actually happened in Thra's history for you to cover, plus aspects of culture and zoology etc.

This is a very interesting theory. I like your thinking. The rule of hundreds or thousands of Skeksis would be much more catastrophic to Thra and its beings. If there were more UrSkeks and they were all divided into UrRu and Skeksis, the Skeksis could have quite literally controlled Thra with ease. However, they would not all be able to use the Crystal to prolong their lives. If this were to come to pass, I wonder if this would have the non-cannon Skeksis SkekEer the Spymaster, with his counterpart UrEm the Informant be one of the pairs in this timeline.

Could you do a video explaining on which urskek was the one that shattered the Crystal, my options say either skekUng(cause some sources say Micheal Kilgariff confirmed this in an interview), skekMal due to his sheer power, skekSo for his undying lust for power, and possibly skekGra's different mentality from the others.

But won't the skeksis be killed when they kill the urru, remember even though they are both halves that doesn't mean they aren't connected anymore.

The Uru are tied to the skeksis so no, they would not be hunted to extinction but instead imprisoned or banished. 4:45

With a basis in a franchise you want to have definite ground rules, the Skeksis are the main attention grabbers, which comes into play diversity or simplicity, at the beginning Jim henson stated with the 82' movie that their were 18 but then only 10, he didn't had an mindset for those remaining 8 later on in years he and others added persona's to them to expand the lore. Having too many would water down the mystic's otherworldly vibe, and the skeksis godly status. We could have had Skeksis positions like the Berserker(skekMal/skekUng), the Executioner(skekNa/skekHak), the Architect(skekTek/skekEkt), the Mercenary(skekShod/skekLi), the Sorceress(skekLach/skekGra), Blacksmith (skekTek/skekShod). As for the mystics we could've have the Dreamweaver(urZah/urUtt), the Brewer(urAmaj/urNol), the Soothsayer(urGoh/urLii), the Counselor(urSen/urSu). I can see 28 (like 28 celestial houses in chinese astrology) urskeks expanding the lore.

I was looking forward to a second season of this show coming out whenever, until I saw that the Jim Henson Company was discriminating straight, white males such as myself. Holding open puppeteering auditions for LGBTQ+, people of color and women of all cultural backgrounds. I don't want to start any online fights, arguments or anything like that, but seeing those videos and articles on that subject really shocked me. I wanted to say something because not a lot of people know about it.
