6:40 - 9:30 Wow, this opening is truly gothic; harkening to Frankenstein or Bride of Frankenstein, with just a hint of Phantom of the Opera. I have goosebumps. Kinda reminds me of the origin of Darkman.
22:05 - 22:26 Hmm, Keri Russell as Barbara, huh? Well, this would've been around the time she was in Felicity, and I've heard good things about her work on The Americans. Plus, she did great as the voice of Diana Prince in Wonder Woman (2009) before Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman came out.
That introduction to Mr. Freeze was just as it should be: It gave me the chills. Pun aside, that was truly amazing. The hair on my arms stood up from it. That was some good writing.
The relationship between Batman and Robin is so much better in this than the original movie. I actually believe that Dick is hurt by Bruce's lack of trust, instead of it just being teenage bravado and ego.
Hey! I like the original movie better. Because it has Alfred with a central role, and we, as individuals, learn how to deal with loss. Akiva did a wonderful job adding that theme in the film.
The best part about these fanscriptions in my opinion is just how polished they feel. Everyone involved in this script’s writing have demonstrated their utter passion and devotion to this story. No rock is left unturned nor does anything feel out of place or unimportant in the story. If only Hollywood had more people like all of you!
I would love to see how this would look in live action. Patrick Stewart Mr. Freeze in the vain of BTAS is a genius choice. Everyone is fantastic in this. Rob and Walter y’all have really outdone yourselves. I already knew from Batman Forever this would be amazing but seeing this first part and what y’all have done with it is so awesome. Cannot wait for Part’s 2 & 3!!
Patrick Stewart was rumored to be considered for Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin, according to concept artist Tim Burgard, but Joel Schumacher debunked that rumor, because he only wanted Arnold Schwarzenegger for the role, and it's the right decision to make.
There's a fan edit called batman and Robin deep freeze that turns the film b and w and makes it more like the animated series. It quite fascinating how he was able to do it and highly recommend checking it out.
Really enjoying this so far. I just think it's hilarious that even in a hypothetical version of a movie released in 1997, Giancarlo Esposito can't avoid getting fan-cast.
He was rumored to be considered for Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin, but Joel Schumacher debunked the rumor, because he only wanted Arnold Schwarzenegger for the role, which is good.
@@SeasideDetective2 Did you watch the Batman Forever Fanscription? The ending to it set her up for this film. Also note that Poison Ivy hasn't shown up yet either....
@@PaulW_ftPAULK But she's not doing anything! All we've gotten so far is a repeat of her battle with the mugger from BATMAN RETURNS and a robbery of a jewelry store (when Burton's Catwoman is a vigilante, anarchist, and vandal - not a thief). There's been at least as much focus on her as on Mr. Freeze, who should be the star attraction here.
@@SeasideDetective2 Characters do need to be set up, established, and the first third of a movie is often used to establish most motives and all our new key players. Because this is a three-part Fanscription, I'm not surprised it hasn't all been revealed at once.
I know this is “only” part 1, but this is incredible work! FanScription is a great series, and this installment goes above and beyond. I would love to see some kind of “behind the scenes” video talking to the artists and with Rob and Walter explaining the choices they made in the script and the casting.
In fact, Joel wanted to rectify his mistake with a third Batman movie which, if made, would have been just as dark as Tim Burton's movies, and would have closed the cycle with a five-film anthology, but Warner canceled Batman Triumphant with Harley Quinn ( Madona) as the daughter of Jack Nicholson's Joker and Nic Cage as the Mad Hatter and as main villain Dr. Jonathan Crane. But if it had happened, maybe they would not have put Michael Eton in The Flash to be linked with Joel Schumacher's Batman.
My god... That entire scene before the opening credits almost feels like a horror movie. I like the growing tension between Bruce and Dick a lot more than in the original movie, and Barbara's actually related to Commissioner Gordon this time around. And is a redhead. I can also tell that Gordon's deteriorating health is meant to parallel Nora's own condition before being put on ice, like what they did in the original movie with Alfred. Something that they (kinda) did well were the more wholesome scenes between him and Bruce when I rewatched the movie... while also doing a small tally of each time Mr. Freeze made an ice pun (I counted 35, no joke). Looking forward to part 2, guys! Phenomenal work!
@@ChrisMerkelStudios I’m aware that Pyg didn’t exist back when Tim made the Batman movies, but I would still love to see him be used in Tim Burton’s world since the tone could allow for a very interesting portrayal
@@sorvoe5513 For a character that only appeared in 2007 he's done very well for himself with more appearances and interpretations than dozens of villains with much longer pedigrees.Hell he's so awesome he made Batwoman unironically brilliant for an episode.
@@darkservantofheaven A lot of the villains that have been added to the Bat-Gallery since his film do. Hell Batwoman's arch nemesis Alice is straight out of the Burton playbook (via Lynch)
Benny the Jet as Robin is probably the most brilliant casting decision. Lol I love everything about this. I am blown away by the amount of work that must have gone into this. So many hours on the visuals alone, nevermind the script and nailing the voices. Kudos to the passion
I don't see Mike Vitar as Robin. He would be a terrible choice. And thank God they had Chris O'Donnell as Robin in the second, but last two Batman films that Joel did when Tim pass on the torch.
I love how you guys have developed Batman and Robin’s relationship. Their conflicts show so much maturity to them in their communication. Great work, you guys should be proud!
I am so incredibly happy that you guys have shown this fanfiction and I can't wait for part two as this story that you guys made is a lot more interesting than the movie we got ❤️👍
If Batman Forever and Batman & Robin were directed by Tim Burton in real life then it would've been noted as one of the greatest Quadrilogies of all time!
@@michaelhartman683 Yeah we could've gotten Batmab Unchained or Batman DarKnight (I'm guessing DarKnight is the 6th and final one) but I'm glad that Batman Forever and Batman & Robin are like this because if we didn't get those versions then The Dark Knight Trilogy wouldn't be really a thing
@@MarioSonicPhillyFan700 I'm guessing we could have got Batman Unchained as a 5th film (Scarecrow/Harley Quinn/Mad Hatter main villians?) and Batman Triumphant as the conclusion to the double trilogy (Ra's Al Ghul & Bane)
"I can't be a crime fighting partner and the son you never had at the same time" Immediately after one of the funniest father son moments right after he takes the Robin suit with him. 1:34:00
I love how this came out as I’m on a fanscription binge with the Spider-Man 4, amazing Spider-Man 3, and back to the future vids. But this is one I’ve been waiting a while for
I hope he does what if there was no Cult in Halloween the curse of Michael Myers, What if the Invisible man was in the monster squad as Dracula’s spy and what if Penguin and Riddler were in the Dark knight trilogy or Rises?
@@godofevil9468 He is actually playing Lex in the Harley Quinn Animated Series. He does a really good job of portraying the character and add some humour to the role.
The opening credits to this reminded me of Batman Returns opening credits, with Penguin as a child alone in his carriage floating into the sewer towards the Arctic World. Here though it was a brilliant way of beginning the story having Victor walk across the city in silhouette all alone in the winter storm going back to the bunker.
Yes! Yes!!! The banter back and forth between Grayson and Barbara...I immediately got the hints of "Things Change" from the animated series here, along with the general chemistry that the show had between them. THIS is what B&R needed from these two from the beginning! I love it! Absolutely love it!!
@@ChannelAwesome Just imagine the version of Bane in this Tim Burton variation: "This special preparate called Venom made a perfect combat machine out of me, Batman! I know already all your strategies and tactics so pray that your death will be very fast!" "Don't blame me, Bane! What do you expect from Mr. Freeze when he will freeze Gotham City? You will die like the other citizens if he realizes his Plan!" "Just shut up and fight like a man! Your time is coming now!...Once i was prisoned in an Siberian jail and killed many prisoners there bevore they transported me to Pena Dura and made a perfect fighter out of me!" Bane should or could be a Russian mafia boss in this Version.
Oh wow, this is the one i've been waiting for, you guys not only delivered big time but you exceeded all of my expectations and this is only part 1.This really makes me wish that we got something like this for Batman & Robin especially with Patrick Stewart as Mr Freeze, it would have been epic. I cannot wait for part 2 to see what you've come up with next, excellent job.
They're Batman Forever video and these videos are my personal head Cannon for those movies. Their Robin Williams version of The Riddler was absolutely awesome
B&R is my favorite bad movie of all time. I know it's awful, but I will never miss a chance to watch it and I think it's a total blast. With that said, I'm completely open to it being, you know, good.
@@coolnerdlll6053Tl:Dr MCU is just subpar with corny joke after corny joke There hasn't been a legit good MCU movie since Winter Soldier (don't say Infinity Bore and Endlame they're just shameless fanservice and actors patting themselves on the back)all their movies are half assed with no thought, effort,or love put into them plus its full of corny/meta jokes and fanboys eat that shit up B&R is full of those it'd get endless amounts of praise from fanboys not how MCU movies movies are forgettable and not worth rewatching there's a reason why the Raimi trilogy,X2,and Logan are memorable who honestly remembers Phase 1,GoTG,or both Ant-Man movies?
The production quality of these has no right being as good as they are. The idea of some base ideas and concept art alone is cool, but a fully written screenplay with an edited storyboard and voice acted performances is beyond brilliant! Can't wait to see Part 2 and 3
I so wish I could see these FanScription Batman screenplays brought to the big screen. The Channel Awesome team are some of the best writers and actors I've seen for a long time.
I recommend you watch videos from Atun shei films. He's also a low budget independent filmmaker with a penchant for acting. Unlike Channel awesome, he focuses on history, but that doesn't stop him from making entertaining films. In my opinion, they guy is a better actor than every single member of channel awesome and he's created several different series that are all worth checking out, and are incredibly funny.
@@shadowjudge921 I wish they could do What if there was no cult in Halloween the curse of Michael Myers, What If the Invisible man was in the monster squad as Dracula’s spy and What if Riddler and Penguin were in the Dark knight rises or the trilogy
Well, even though *Lazlo Valentin* (AKA Professor Pyg) didn't exist until his debut in the comic in 2007, this does make an interesting hypothetical introduction in Tim Burton's Batman and Robin. In fact; *Professor Pyg* is quite fitting in the *Burtonverse Batman* movies~!💡
Thank you all for your hard work on this project. This version of Batman and Robin as well as Batman Forever made me feel as if I were watching the Batman animated series brought to life.
YES! Not only has it been so long sens you did another fan-scription, but now you give us the one we have been waiting so long for. You people are an inspiration. I'll watch this as soon as I can. Thank you.
To me it seems more like a TV show or maybe even a comic book. A slow build to the reveal of the villain, The building up of long-term character motivations, and then pace of the story. I like it.
Man, the script here is so much more interesting than what we got out of the actual movie! I really like how Victor is introduced as a tragic character in the beginning!
It is so ballsy holding out on a full reveal of Mr. Freeze for so long, but this setup is fantastic, and is really hyping up how huge of a threat he is. Fantastic work.
I mean, if you're looking at this as a true film, we're maybe half an hour to forty-five minutes in. Assuming it would be a two hour, two-and-a-half-hour movie, the big reveal could be about an hour into the film. The reason the video is so long is because of the narration explaining the non-speaking scenes that would be a lot quicker in the actual film.
I really like how Batgirl/Barbra Gordon is introduced into this version of events and that Mr. Freeze is similar to his animated counterpart. and what part Catwoman has to play in this story. I am so excited to hear the rest of what is truly shaping up to be a fantastic third part of a "What If" Tim Burton trilogy of batman films
@@calebray1834 I'd like to see that, just because my idea for a Fanscription B&R had the Sirens as the villains, using Lori Petty from the one-shot Harley Quinn in Batman 89 episode. Only thing is you need a second villain party for stakes and I don't want to use Freeze or Scarecrow lol
Keri Russell as a comics-accurate Barbara Gordon was a nice surprise, especially considering what we got. But Patrick Stewart as a BTAS-like Mr. Freeze (poetic phrasing and all) would have been as perfect as his Marvel casting proved to be later. The Keaton impression is great, too. #releasethefanscriptioncut #releasetheburtoncut
Yo this one was really good. Can't wait for part 2 and 3. By the end, This whole What If might move me to tears. Tears I can still shed. -First part was good for the set up for what can be to come with enough action and character development moments. -The beginning with Freeze and his wife's wedding was beautiful and tragic. And how it showed how with everything in the universe of the film, in the past it shows things bright and hopeful and showing in time many things will become dark and broken but still hope somewhere. -I think the mysterious person in the beginning that attacked Freeze was Ferris Boyal. Maybe in Part 2 or in 3, Freeze will arrive at Goth Corp demanding revenge on Boyal but learning from Chip or Batman that Riddler killed him. Which could lead to him wanting to attack Chip or Goth Corp or maybe Wane Tech. -Also, the part where Bruce runs through the Maze in the What if Tim Burton Directed Batman Forever, the recording of the whole thing where Riddler brought Bruce to the cave and the conversation in the interrogation room to the explosion could be saved somewhere even after the boardwalk explodes. Someone might find it and use it as blackmail. And speaking of Chip, I think the Plan B he mentioned was that gang of goons taking what we most likely know is Nora's Capsule and he will use it as leverage on Freeze like that one guy who wanted Freeze to make him immortal. Maybe that will happen to Chip, wanting to live forever only to end up frozen at the bottom of the water. -I also like to think that in Part 2 or near end of 2, Gordon will be taken to the hospital and Eiken will step in and take the Bat-signal down and put an order for Batman's arrest. Which could continue into 3 and at some point he will realize like in Part 1, he like Gordon needs Batman. Maybe at some point in Part 2 is when we will get the full reveal shot of Freeze and in Part 2/3, when Batman learns the truth of Freeze, like in Heart of Ice, will feel sympathy and Freeze will catch him and there will be a moment like in the episode where he's upside down and the two have that talk. -I think near the end of Part 3, I see two endings. 1. Batman with Robin and Batgirl take Freeze down and as he is taken to Arkham, He informs Freeze that Wane Tech will do their best to save Nora and like the Heart of Ice episode, he is in his cell holding the snow globe of Nora and says "I failed you. I wish there were another way to say it. I cannot. I can only beg your forgiveness. And pray you hear me somehow. Some place, Someplace, where a warm hand waits for mine." 2. In the episode where Freeze makes Walker immortal. At the end after Batman, Robin and Batgirl beat him, as his lair collapses, like in the ending, he and Nora are in a small enough iceberg for them with them inside drift along, carried away by the current. I now also feel like with how Gordon's heart condition is, I fear what could lead to him in the hospital is he could get shot like in "I Am The Night" where the shock makes his heart go bad to worse. Later on he would a wake and he and Batman could have a talk like at the end of I Am The Night. Where Lucius Fox said the old storage area will become a "Medical Research Wing", I can see either Freeze using that for Nora to try and treat her. (Or where if Chip has Freeze make him immortal like Walker could be where he has Nora.) But at the end, I see Nora being brought there where Wane Inc's best Medical Scientists work to try and cure Nora.
This MIGHT be a bit of a spoiler, to which I apologize ahead of time; however, I have a theory on what the blackmail and the Oppenheimer reference aligns to. Mr. Freeze thinks that Thomas Wayne screwed him over in trying to save his wife, but could be later revealed that Thomas saw that fries' method to save his wife could lead to destruction of the city. Thomas tried reasoning with his business partner, but the latter was too grief driven to listen, leading Wayne no choice but to stop the process himself lest fries winds up causing destruction saving his wife.
Loved the diner scene. The back and forth between Dick and Babs, the cuts back to Batman with it being related to what they said. I know it's been done before but it just feels right for a movie from this era.
When all three parts are uploaded, I'd love to see an all-in-one version of your Tim Burton's Batman and Robin videos. That'd be so cool (no pun intended). ☺
This is very great and very exciting and very nicely well done. Thank You, Channel Awesome. For your next What If, you should do “What if Simba exiled Kiara along with Kovu” and explore what would happen next because of Simba having exiled Kiara and Kovu together even where it includes Kion, the Lion Guard, Kopa, Nala, Sarabi, Sarafina, and the Pride Lander Lionesses turning on Simba for what he (Simba) did.
17:12 IT’S ALEXANDER!!! He introduces himself in the movie as Alexander to Bruce and also goes by Allie! You have to be a pretty big tourist to miss that!
I'm loving this and am looking forward to the next part. Sir Patrick Stewart as Mr. Freeze is perfect casting and Barbara already dressing as Batgirl is a nice touch.
I love these fanscriptions. Truth be told, I’m now having my MS after-school students do something similar: take a story/movie that maybe didn’t come out the way you wanted and fix it. My hat goes off to you guys! Well done! Out of curiosity, would it be possible if you could create a playlist with all the Batman fanscriptions in movie-released order?
This is fantastic! Great dialogue and use of characters. The slow reveal of Mr. Freeze is worth it. Not sure how I feel about Lucius Fox in this, but the rest is pretty epic. Waiting for part 2 with anticipation.
A little to many cuts between scenes to my taste, but so far, really good. Love that Rob as Mr. Freeze, just chef's kiss, haha. Looking forward to the next chapter
Great work on this latest adaptation, I enjoyed every minute of it. not only that but I think you guys did a great job on honoring the late Joel Schumacher's work and improving on it and the process. I can't wait to see how part two and three will be done later on in the month.

Everyone at Channel Awesome has done such a phenomenal job bringing the stories to life! If Tim Burton made those movies with those concepts that would make a huge amount of money in the Box Office!
This is like an audiobook I didn't know I needed. I'd pay to hear this team do The Long Halloween, The Dark Knight Returns, Jurassic Park, The Shining, Killing Floor... Ya know, just do audiobooks. Do y'all do audiobooks?
I’ve watched all 3 movies you guys have done so many times now. I enjoy this timeline you’ve created. Makes me wish I had the time to do a fan comic of it
It’s like looking into an awesome alternate universe where cancelled/reworked media happened. I would imagine Firefly Season 2 is also a thing in this universe.
I have a Fanscription idea if you’re interested: What if X-Men First Class was a more accurate prequel. As much as I loved that movie (it might just be my favorite X-Men film) there were a number of things from the original movies that were retconned and I’ve barley been able to find anyone who’s already done a rewrite of First Class. I hope at some point Team Fanscription can do that.
@@srstriker6420 right, and then later they turned Mystique into some kind of heroic symbol character. Like we get it symbol she played Katniss but this isn’t Katniss this is Mystique.

Wonderful version. Patrick Stewart would have been AWESOME as Mr. Freeze. I wonder if the Batmobile would have been different for this movie like in the other film. Robin: "I like the car! Chicks dig the car!" Batman: "This is why Superman works alone."
This was absolutely fantastic. I love watching the original for shits and giggles, along with the Nostalgia Critic review, but this was just awesome and makes me wish we got this version on screen instead.
I must say this was a lot of fun to finally see, I love the story, the dialog made me laugh so much. I even love how you made it a little bit gruesome with the blood and all. The decision on keep Mr Freeze hiding gives him an intimidating vibe, which is great. Barbra Gordon is actually related to Gordon instead of Alfred, thank god! I love how she quickly responds to the line “Can I call you Babs”, so good! There was one thing I thought was little bit weird. 1:15:41 Malcom (who was amazing in this as everyone else) says that he is presumably dead. Now this wouldn’t be weird as Keaton’s Batman kills, but in Rob’s Batman Forever he changed that, that it won’t get you anywhere and so on. My question does this apply to this, will Batman feel guilty or not? Is a killer still or what? Another question I have is will Poison Ivy be a villain in this or are you saving her for another sequel? With all of that said I can’t wait for part 2 and 3 to come out! Good job gang as always!!
This is only Part 1? The jokes actually land really well and great job with the voice acting and narration, the storytelling is great so far, definitely better then the original, you guys are clearly big fans of Batman.
Really great story, very cinematic. I only worry it's getting a bit overstuffed. Like, I am glad the Selina/Bruce stiff is continuing, the relationship between Bruce and Dick is a lot more natural and likeable, and Freeze is a definite presence. But throwing in Batgirls origins, Commissioner Gordon being replaced AND Chip Schrek behind the scenes with who I assume is early form Poison Ivy, It's starting to feel like Amazing Spider-Man 2 with so many plot threads threatening to take time away from the important stuff. I completely forgot Freeze was a villain for a portion of the fanscription until you brought him back.
So much to comment on lol I dig the Wayne connection for Freeze's backstory, but I'm not crazy about Winona Ryder as Nora. The age difference between her and Stewart is a bit off-putting. Reading the credits, I popped big for Kerri Russell, because I never would have thought of her as Batgirl. And since it's 1997, this would be her breakout roll. The humor contrasting Batman fighting, while Dick and Barbara drink coffee was perfect. I like that we haven't gotten much of Mr. Freeze yet, because it means the best is yet to come. I'm happy you had Barbara be related to Gordon this time, and gave him the health issue. Also, because I'm not good at identifying people in pictures, who do Uma Thurman and Gabriel Byrne play? If they've actually shown up yet, of course.
