Tbf, there's a difference between confirming Star is bi outside of the show (though the scene implying it was there and no hate to the creators on this, it was intentionally made to have reasonable deniability to not piss of homophobic parents) and having two main male characters get together at the end. I'm really glad people are starting to talk about the double standard of mlm relationships not getting as much obvious rep as wlw, (saw two videos on it in my yt reccs today), because obviously, I am SO happy for the wlw ships we're getting but it sucks that we can't get that for mlm ships, too.@@Huh9631
I mean..he did have chemistry with star...its just they kept FORCING star and marco to speed run to each other which made it less natural and awkward compared to if they just..werent into each other romantically at first at all and if teh show had treated the other relationships properly and let them run their course...plus ...honestly star and tom had felt like they had gotten stronger at the end before the breakup so the breakup had felt awkward..especially when they never really showed marco and kelly dating properly or breaking up after seeing him and kelly get together
they had good chemistry, but they force them to be lovers instead of actual genuine best friends. i was so excited to see more of them cause of that dynamic, i thought we could have more boy-girl tandem that isn't lovers trope. but nope, they have to do that.

You can always make something out of nothing. There's over 1700 minutes of Star vs. This is a 3 minute video. That means .0013% of the show was devoted to Tom and Marco.

The ship Tomco only clicked for me as a concept when Tom told Star (during their breakup) that he wanted to date "someone he could be best friends with." Marco was such an attractive harem protagonist that he charmed his main love interest's BOYFRIEND. If Tom was "Tamara" instead, then "Tamco" might have been a canon ship for a bit.

@@wonder1440 I made my comment in the spirit of "X walked so Y could run." Or rather: Tomco never got its chance to shine so that Lumity could break the mold. Tom and Marco had fantastic chemistry when they interacted with each other and in my opinion could have been couple goals had their potential been explored. There's nothing wrong with Starco but mutual attraction aside their dynamic always seemed more like platonic besties and occasionally siblings to me.
I have no idea how I managed to watch this show my entire childhood with only realizing recently, after SEVEN OR EIGHT YEARS, just how… gay these two were. Like, obviously, they were never together, but this is some serious bromance practically pleading to have the fandom ship this xDD

This is the only time I’ve seen a love triangle in a show and thought “Yep, they should just be poly together.” They’re already both kissing star, and Tom definitely seems like he has a thing for Marco. The only thing left is : does Marco have a thing for Tom? I actually think he might. Idk maybe I’m just making assumptions.

Honestly would have been better than starco, disney rlly forced the romance with them it felt awkward and tbh star doesn't seem the type to even be in a relationship. I can see her trying to rule alone and only "marrying" to have an heir but other than that she just seems too wild to ever wanna settle down Tomco although probably wouldn't be as good as any of us hope (bc the show doesn't know how to write relationships) would have at least a fun dynamic. Tom and Marco seem the most compatible bc Tom eventually actually sees Marco as an equal and treats him well and Marco seems to be the only one that can get through to Tom
I think Marco, Tom, and Star shouldve been in a poly relationship. They all had really good chemistry with each other and its a shame to see Tom left out. It also sucks that Marco never got to be transfem. He originally supposed to be trans but they didnt let it happen :(
Although transfem rep would be nice, I do honestly do like that Marco can dress feminine, as a woman without him being seen as less of a man. (This is partially because I am a cis women who likes to dress up as a man sometimes, and it makes me uncomfortable when people say I am not “feminine” or “womanly” enough, though I am a woman and comfortable with it, and I do dress up feminine rest of the time.) HARD agree with you on the poly ship, their trio moments were so good! They have such great chemistry, All of them really just love each other, even if it is canonically only platonically.
I’m in a weird place where I ship stomco (star x Tom x Marco) but I don’t ship any of their individual relationships. (I mean, i did love star x Tom, but it was ruined whenever star got super longing for Marco). I need them, and love them, as a trio. Beach episode? Peak. The three of them together, their hugs, are just so cute. It’s really great, because I can always watch these videos and pretend the third person is just off doing something else at the current time. Anyway, this is fun, love the video.
Thing is any relationship with Tom is great cause the character development star and Marco is bad cause their relationship feels weird and like Aphrodite trying to hard to get them together
Actually I really like that Tom and Marco have such a fantastic BROmance instead of ROmance. We need more sincere platonic relationships in the media. If you love a person it doesn't mean this can only be romantic or erotic. Love is love, love for a sibling and for a friend can be as beautiful as romantic.
Tom is still basically in teenage years. Marco will just die first if age was the cause of his death. Star should also live longer than Marco now that I think about it
