I'd tried to post in Facebook groups and I had more bot accounts hit me up than copies of the card that exist. Glad you had fun on the trip and got more networking. I feel like you are a rare mention for how big your channel is. I hear plenty of mentions on Rudy, Nostalgia, Danny, Rev, Vault, CTR. It's time to acknowledge the beard! Keep it up your community first approach while having to spend nothing on items to bring people in really shows the fan in you.

Pokemon 151 got me to dabble into collecting. I bought a sealed case of 10 booster bundles for 600cad and going to just sit on them. Also tempted to buy a PSA10 alternate art charizard. Going forward if I can find good deals I’ll just focus on buying ETBs when I can. I just think it’s an amazing set and taps that nostalgia of the boomers that started it all.

Ngl, I live in a different state than my immediate family members, and they do not know that I collect pokemon. They would do nothing but tease me for it and lecture me about wasting my money. My coworkers and everyone around me do know and they don't care they all have their own weird hobbies, lol. Also, I'm 34, and I've collected for about 3 years now and a lot as a kid in 99-05ish.

I’m really hoping psa falls down to the other grading companies at some point. Their slabs and labels just look so much worse than SGC and especially the new CGC ones. I’m probably going for CGC now since that pristine 10 is worth it for sure.

idk if this helps but you can cross grade your sgc cards to psa and just tell them to only crack it out of the case if its a psa 10 that way you dont have to worry about losing your 9.5 grade. I've done this a couple of time and they have came back psa 10 and idk if that is because psa bought sgc so they are more confident in there grade being worth it but yea just my knowledge and exp in the matter.

If they reprint paldea evolved, do you think they will update the pull rates to match the more recent sets and make the SAR and gold cards much harder to pull? How much do you think this will effect prices of those top tier cards ? Note: IR cards have been about 1/12 packs every set, so this update wouldn’t make it harder to pull the magikarp and tyranitar. But the iono, chien pao and new starter evolutions would be much harder.

Hey what's up bro. I saw you answered my question on the last WIW. I was referring to the popular Pokemon Poker Cards as far as Gengar Mewtwo Pikachu ect they sell in the hundreds. Especially the Charizard it sells almost at 1k. If they are selling for this much now even tho people really don't know about them. Hi PokeBeard. New 30 year old collector here getting back into it for nostalgia and investment purposes. What would you recommend for a stopping point in ripping booster packs before you start buying singles in a set? I am not trying to complete the set. For example, I loved Fusion Strike chase cards, opened 44 packs and did not get any of the Mews, Celebi or Gengars. I then started buying some individually. Thanks!

I think this is an uncommon opinion but regular binders are out dated. When you can get top loader binders for $20-$40 there is no reason to put cards over $100 in a regular binder. You’re just going to screw yourself for value in the future. Same thing we did as kids. Why wouldn’t you take the extra step to protect your cards? Master set? Put it in a toploader binder. Why risk whitening and damaging your cards you spent $1000s on over $40 max. Just silly. I strongly disagree with regular binders. Think they are a terrible practice.

If you're talking about 3 ring binders, then yes, but not the good binders. If you get good sleeves, they will not get damaged at all. I literally graded so many of my cards that were in good binders for years and got so many 10s. I have like 40 sets complete. I can fit multiple sets in 1 binder. The amount of money I would spend on top loaders and extra binders would be pointless. Especially cuz I doubt every card you're putting in those is a 10.
