Number 18: Heraldry Patriarch is exactly what it's named after, a Patriarch. More specifically a European Catholic King and it's referenced throughout its design. The shape is supposed to reference a "Crown and Cloak". The Big Ice Chunk is surrounded by smaller ice chunks to reference how a king rules over people. The color Blue is a European trope that signifies that someone is born into nobility, Blue Blooded Nobles. The color Red is symbolic in Catholicism, red means "god's chosen/ most faithful". It's why emperors like Charlemagne wore red, why a lot of Catholic and Christian countries have red in their flags, and why a literal rank in Catholicism is called "Cardinals". Finally, even its number 18 has ties to Catholicism. The reason a lot of countries see 18 years as adulthood is because 18 years old is the religious age of adulthood in Catholicism.

Its cards also have almost no inherent special summoning, so that handful of reborns is all they get. They didn't even get Amphisbaena until after Soul Charge was printed.

The thing that bothers me the most about augmented heraldry is that it also stops YOUR spells/traps from targeting your psychics, which means you cannot rank them up using rum cards while this card is in the field zone

11:43 Patriarch is supposedly a "crown". Ice chunk with red swirly being the crown jewel and the ring around it being the rest of the crown.

Number 18: Heraldry Patriarch actually saw a good amount of competitive play and success in Duel Links during the Blue Eyes and Harpie Lady metas respectively

I loved the concept and designs of these cards and im so sad they have been neglected so much. I wish they came out in the synchro era or something maybe they would have survived more there then the xyz era where their boss monsters were only useful against other xyz monsters.

Luckily the deck can go into xyz armor cards or utopia dragonar and because of eagle they can use it twice. It's a lot more complex and weird than it seems

5:19 I just realized this card kinda works to force his sons cards to become suitable for his deck, all of them focus on rank 5-9 gimmick puppets rank 8, Dyson sphere rank 9 and Chronomaly ranks 5 and 6

This was a nice trip down memory lane; a Reptile-loaded version of this deck was my go-to for years before Pendulums dropped, and more recently Time Thief Heraldics (or "Capture the Flag" as I tend to refer to the deck) has just been _fun._

@@IsaiahBuchanan175 It was a long time ago and I don't have the list, the main idea was to summon Heraldry Crest, then Numeron Dragon, and Heraldry Crest copy Numeron Dragon effect to get 2 5000+ ATK Monsters.

@IsaiahBuchanan175 You can also go into utopia double, summon dragonar then use the effect to summon dragon. Alternatively summon hope harbinger, then reattach 2 mats with eagle and during your opponent's turn summon photon lord and attach photon thrasher from deck to end with a spell+monster negate (lvl 4 which summons from hand, best garnet)

I feel bad for this deck honestly, it could've been so much more, who wouldn't want to summon Genome Heratige and Stomp out your opponent with a ... faceless yet magistic looking dear thing. If it was any better it would've made for a deck piloted by V-Tubers who like animals and look like the Dryad from Summoners War....

Kurikara Divincarnate lore pls, that connects to the other yu gi oh lores. I didn't see a single video that connected the lore of kurikara to the yu gi oh world.

Heh, a *funny* idea is to use 69 in Galaxy-Eyes. Ventrix: "I negate Neo Galaxy-Eyes' Effect, and now I will use Heraldry Crest to summon Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon!" Of course, you cannot Special a second while you still have the first outside of Unicorn.

Patriarch is basically a Sapphire Psychic Golem Head. The One which has red is the head, And the large ring may represent a king robe. Think crystal king golem but with telekinetic holding it togeyjer

Honestly Heraldic Beasts being able to take on the name of any opposing monster and making them level 4 could be their new playstyle. Basically, like the XYZ version of Relinquished/Change of Heart. Just spit balling ideas.

cxyz versions of his other two would be nice with better effects that copy any monster maybe update his main deck and crest as well spell cards are pretty good already advanced heraldry art is pretty good card for them

Yeah, Amphisbaenas are weird. I've only seen them crop up in media every so often, and they sometimes don't even call them that (like in Amphibia with Lysil and Angwin).

Looking through the main deck monsters, the effects arent even all that bad. The only issue is that every monster only has one of them. That and a lack of free specials. Just condensing the effects a bit would make them much more playable with new support tho

I was bored all morning, so I made some Heraldic support. Name: "Heraldic Beast Wolf" Attribute: Earth Type: Beast/Effect Level: 4 ATK/DEF: 1600/800 Effect: If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Heraldic Beast" monster from your hand, except "Heraldic Beast Wolf". A "Number" Xyz Monster that was Summoned using this card on the field as material gains this effect. You can only use each of the preceding effects of "Heraldic Beast Wolf" once per turn. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; return it to the hand. Name: "Heraldic Beast Bear" Attribute: Earth Type: Beast/Effect Level: 4 ATK/DEF: 1800/900 Effect: If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 "Heraldic Beast" monster from your Deck to the GY, except "Heraldic Beast Bear". numb 18: patriarch always reminded me of an old beared man with a long crown , i always assumed the swirl was a symbolism for the all imposing CONTROL of a patriarch the scythe thing might be death? might be Wind of a storm?

this deck boss were really nerfed when they printed in the card game. In the anime, number 9 could copy any monster, xyz or not and number 69 was a skill drain.

I am inexplicably rather fond of Heraldics(I find Genom-Heritage an especially fun design), but yeah, it has literally never been good ever. Gimmick Puppet has gotten MULTIPLE waves of 5+ card support in the time it has taken for this deck to get a single, restrictive Spell. You left out a few things, like the Angel of Mischief FTKs with Heraldry Crest and the fact that Patriarch has no OPT effects at all, letting it theoretically set up your GY better than even Snake Rain…if the deck had a Main Deck worth the effort.
