If you hate being questioned, chances are, you are not an INTJ or you are using your Fi child or Si demon over your Te Hero Function... It's a sign you still got a place to mature at :)
Last time I was in a group, it was with 2 people who didn’t know any of the answers. They listened to me when I explained and gave them the answers, and it was great, because nobody really cares enough to listen to me. They even said they were glad to be in a group with someone who actually wanted to do the work.
I don’t like being questioned either, I see I lot of other INTJ’s are in general negative people, but I hate being questioned, typically because there’s no reason to question me. I work harder than everyone around me and it’s always like people want to challenge me which I don’t like. That’s why I am becoming an entrepreneur, to be my own boss since it best suits my personality.
@@khloecarver well maybe you are questioned without good arguments. I love to be questioned, it opens new paths in my solution. But i also work, with somebody, who didnt have anything to says, just making noise. It was exhausting, i even was losing control, and i was hostile against her in meetings. On daily basic i was avoiding her.
All I know is I hate corporate America and now I’m looking into finding “remote work” and starting a business on the side. I can’t deal with my hard work being overlooked because I don’t smile and fake laugh all damn day. 😑
E___ I’m currently in the process of saving 4 months worth of bill money before I begin my job hunt. But basically I’m going to do a remote job in maybe transcription and start a teaching/tutoring business on the side.
There are quite some people (and types) who just laugh a lot without it being fake. Types like feelers + extroverted types (combination of both such as ENFP, ESFP, ENFJ, ESFJ) often laugh a lot without even trying. They're just generally happy. My gf is happy all the time, even with the smallest things. They're also just the most expressive types in general. So not being able to 'fake laugh' is not just the problem, but also not laughing naturally is part of the problem. If one naturally is a happy type, then there's no need to fake laugh... INTJ's are often quite overcontrolling types who can't seem to act remotely relaxing. Yes they work hard, but if people think it's a pain in the ass to be around you, then possibly that is part of the problem too. Thinking that everyone who is laughing is fake, is just a very short sighted view. Sure, some people wil fake laugh for their career, just as people will fake-work-hard for their career. People will fake anything for their career, but that's not the only problem here.
PowerRedBull Expressive Feeler types can be happy go lucky all they want, but can that particular person DO THE JOB. I’ve seen people hired into higher positions who didn’t know shit about the area they were managing. They were brown nosing and it worked for them. I have nothing against happy go lucky people but what I do not support is getting moved up just because you’re super bubbly and friendly but when others need help the “bubbly person” has to refer them to someone else (me) all the time. I’m not a grumpy person but I am realistic.
This resonated with me so hard I just almost vaporized. I struggled for many years with navigating company politics, dealing with arrogant extroverts promoted beyond their capabilities, and being a pigeonholed employee. I didn't start to become self actualized until I quit my corporate agency job at 34 and started my own technical animation company. Now that I'm unrestricted by all of that nonsense and can pursue and develop my ideas and skills without inteference, I've achieved more in the last 2 years than I did in the previous 10.
I'm INTJ and have recently been enjoying business analysis position. However, I get bored of things (jobs) easily once I've learnt everything I can there and become desperate to move on to the next thing. This has meant I've had about 30 different jobs! I still don't really know what I love doing.. I see so many flaws in society and our economy that Id rather not speak to anyone all day and be my own boss - earn what I decide and want to. Weird, right? Haha.
@@katevans8499 So hard to say. The problem with Ni doms is that we get bored easily once we have mastered a certain task. Clearly, there are certain activities you enjoy and excel at. You might consider a career in consulting where you are using your analytical skills on different projects. There is also temp agencies where you can enjoy steady employment but on different project with different companies. Hmm, if you have the stomach for it and can survive without a steady paycheck, you might consider some sort of entrepreneurial/self employment thing.....lots of variety. You can do the things at which you accel and delegate the rest. There is also the rarified world of think tanks if you are willing to get the educational credentials and do what it tanks to be employed by one. They seem to be the exclusive domain of INTJs. For example, I find geopolitics utterly fascinating and would feel like a kid in a candy shop if I worked for Stratfor.
I'm INTJ working as an architect. I find the 3 dimensional problem solving very satisfying. There's imaginative future speculation which is also a treat for the INTJ brain.
Architecture is fantastic, you can always develop new concepts and designs, it's a dream job for our kind. However, people want you to have too many qualification/certifications to be taken seriously.
As an intj I struggled with a career because as soon as I learned and mastered the job I was bored, and the second I became bored I was unhappy and did not work there anymore! It was not until I found a job where I could learn unlimited skills for the rest of my life and still not have learned 1/4 of the job.
What is that job you have with unlimited learning options? I struggle with the same issue. Have looked into programming now, which seems like a good choice if you always want the option to improve yourself.
Academia is a neverending learning "job" however it is difficult to get in. I'm an INTJ that is finishing a Ph.D. in astrophysics and moving to data science in the industry which is another unlimited learning field
I've taken multiple personality tests and had gotten INTJ every time. I worked in the Navy as an Avionics Electronics Technician and loved it. Got out 5 years ago and went into real estate, which was awful. Now I am doing computer programming, and I feel much better about life. For me, and probably other INTJs, working on systems that requires problem solving and creativity is definitely a good route. I think that jobs that require you to be at someone's beck and call (like real estate) will give you a lot of anxiety and depression; it did for me anyway.

I am an INTJ and chose a career in design too, I am a 3d artist, and many times I questioned it already thinking I should have chosen another more scientific, or more valuable, or maybe I am not that artist type as others, because I won't do art just for the sake of it, I need to see that it has value to someone or to a community, to solve something, then I will do it. Yet I am not that scientific either, and I love aesthetics. The most disappointing thing seeing so many low quality "artists" who should not be artists at all with their low prices and terrible aesthetics and false ideology just because they think its "trendy" or an easy remote work, while it is not. But the worst is seeing companies who want to underpay you and chase and do so many immoral and unethical things just for the sake of profit which they are making the world a sadder place. I used to be a member of an INTJ Facebook group until I asked what would be some good blue collar jobs for INTJ. Instead of answers, I got a bunch of pictures of blue shirt collars.
Tile Setter. It involves creativity. It's a place to express design. Imagine Custom concepts for solutions to situational obstacles. It's a job where quality is recognized . Easy finding of solutions to problems of one were to arise
I worked as a prison officer for several years. It’s not ideal for implementation of new ideas, but it’s great for stoic, fearless, emotionless problem solving. For me, I care dearly for the problems of people, including prisoners (INTJ ethics), but it’s easy for me to not get wrapped up in there emotional turmoil. Whether it be addressing anger, sadness, stress, aggression, or whatever, as an INTJ I care sure and it plays a role, but nothing interferes with my duties to maintain safety, security, and orderliness of day to day activities.
Great video and in-depth analysis of the INTJ. Interesting. I am INTJ. And let me tell you. Being an INTJ is tough. My father was a consulting Civil Engineer/Architect. I started working for his company while I was still in high school. Good experience but I hated working for him because he was all about rules and duty. I was always breaking the rules and coming up with a better way to do things. I earned several degrees, worked for National labs, government think tanks, and consulting firms. I hated working for them for the same reasons. Stifling! So then I had my own consulting business. Lots of rules and duties and too much smiling, handshaking and compromising. I finally did something really smart. I married an academic designer and now we both have a design firm together. And she even lets me finish what I’m working on. I love that! So I guess, I made a big circle and came back to where I started - Design! I concluded that design was the best way for me to use my creativity to improve our world. LOL. I think you have made a wise choice.
I wish you were still creating videos. I'm a Canadian INTJ in Bali designing and building my own vacation villas and you are 100% correct about everything INTJ. I was a teacher and that was great when I was in control of the entire scope of the process and could be extremely creative. When control started being taken by others and impacted the results I could not stay silent and ultimately needed to leave. Do you have more content?
I think careers are a weird topic for me, as I've always been a more artistic person. The hard thing is trying to apply the INTJ process to the artistic process.
Yes, I can relate. I excelled in art classes in school, and went on to major in Design, in order to use my well developed aesthetic sense towards business goals.
There's also the whole issue that art is a fundamentally emotional field, and being emotionally open as art demands can be taxing and detrimental to INTJs.
Hey I'm an artist too! I did a fine arts major in university. There's this idea that INTJs are more of the science, maths type of person (which is generally true) and I kinda felt unrepresented, so it was nice knowing that there are more artistic intjs out there hahah When being both an artist and an INTJ, I think it's important to note that an intjs approach to art and artistic practice and skills is, IMO, always gonna be very different than, say, an infj. I value skill, perfectionism, knowing/being able to execute every process. What's important for me is the end product, the object, the piece of art. When it comes to abstract paintings I like geometric and hard edge paintings rather than more organic forms or shapes ... Whereas some other type of person would probably value spontaneity, randomness, emotion, playfulness, organic, soft shapes and things like that :)
Paul Norton, I respectfully disagree. Art is not just emotional. There is an underlying structure of ideas in all art. 20th Century art is very abstract. And those abstractions were present in earlier art, but semi-obscured by the objective imagery. I think it was Mies van der Rohe who said, "Art is not a playground for children, young or old. It is a battleground of ideas."
Growing up in a place where the majority did not value art, I took my math and science skills and thought about becoming an engineer. However, I strongly liked music and literature, and was constantly writing and drawing. It wasn't until I was 17 that I really encountered art, after my family moved to a new city. Later, in my first semester of College, I took a Design 101 class, and there was no looking back. It had to be part of my life and career. I still love what I do, and have no regrets!
INTJs are good at leading a team??? Lol. No. We are good at assuming everyone else has their crap together like we do. Babysitting others is a def no no.
I’m personally good with kids- but I’d be too nervous to babysit. We can be good leaders, but I guess it depends on the people we’re leading? They have to be willing to listen, I’m not going to waste my time explaining something if they’re not even listening. We’re willing to help people when they need it, asking questions shows they listen. Or maybe the opposite?
When you're a teenager your told by your parents to get a job or get out. You're told to apply for shity jobs like cook, dishwasher, prep cook, cashier, landscaper, waiter, general laborer ect... Then when asked how's your new job you reply 'its a job". Parents, teachers, & society should all encourage teenagers to reach for the sky & not start at the bottom. Go to college, pay your rent, & bills with your student loans, skip shot jobs & you'll be a lot happier.
I’m an intj and i’m good at being a leader only if i’m appointed to do it. Otherwise i usually prefer working alone where no one tells me what to do. Also i love the psychiatry field but i’m not sure if i will be able go handle so many people in the future. Usually intjs dont like telling people what to do but i don’t mind telling them what to do as long as it doesn’t drain me i’m fine with it.🙃

Amy thank you so much for posting this. 100% accurate! Until recently I've been a lone voice in trying to raise concern and affect change in the industry I work in (UK domestic gas industry). I'm only now being recognised for having spotted something that apparently many 'experts' had overlooked which has potentially massive implications for the industry as a whole and at the start was always told by my peers would not be able to be changed - I'm currently in the process of presenting my findings to the organisation I work for and soon the industry at large, your explanation here will help me with additional material to strengthen/structure my pitch so I'm really grateful for this content. I wish this young lady all the best. May she keep that idealism. I had a project in mind. It wasn’t even mine, really. The team knew the parameters, knew what needed to be achieved, knew very well how it could have been achieved. All was there already. I dropped the project because first of all, they didn’t need me- they had already all the resources. What would have been the point of me losing time trying to sell them what they already had and were not willing to apply? Totally pointless. Assuming that people wish progress and success is a grave misconception (I’ve learnt it the hard). They would rather go bust or even die than do what needs to be done. It is a fact. I am frustrated and bored to death. There are many variables (though not too many). If one element is missing all scenarios have the same ending regardless of variations. That element is constantly missing. Why bother? Oh, I am bored to death. My very brain is on strike. My very soul fled away. I am bored. And no, no, it’s not (just) arrogance on my part. I’m extremely rarely surprised but I have to play along pretending I don’t know, pretending I don’t understand… I am chronically and severely bored.
I'm an INTJ and a CPA. Have been an auditor for 5.5 years now. It's not always a great fit for INTJs but I am fortunate enough to have found a tolerable working environment. A lot of exposure to clients and I'm not micromanaged at all. People trust me to get my work done and I have a lot of independence to achieve tasks in the way I think is best. Have also been moving up the ranks over the years which keeps the job challenging/interesting and good from a $$$ perspective of course. And of course auditing is more than just crunching numbers.
Hi Amy, I met a relative high percentage of INTJ’s in commercial roles. One is a Marketing Manager with an MSc in Chemistry. He’s very strategic, good in fixing issues and creating contingencies in case of strikes, production or supply chain issues. His low Fe is compensated by sales reps like ESFJ’s who visit the customers. He’s a good manager who can see the best growth path for his reports. His business presentations are very Ni-Te with clear slides, sales figures, pie charts and a clear strategy. Two other INTJ’s in my world are Purchasing Managers. Both are very strategic and we worked out long term business deals. Many of my other customers are more opportunistic. All three appreciate meaningful discussions over lunch or dinner, usually with some philosophical elements.

While male INTJ's focus on abstract concepts and figuring things out, we're certainly not beyond giving a complement or admiring the beauty of a lovely young lady. Software tester/business analyst. Problem solving and finding ways to optimize inefficient processes is my specialty. My ideas have permeated much of the organization at this point and I’ve influenced anything from hiring practices to job descriptions and change management. I however do not like the attention and prefer to reconstruct everything from the comfort of my isolated desk.
Many of us professional musicians are INTJs. People often overlook these more creative careers. I think most people incorrectly see this as a soft career or an artsy fartsy career. It s a great career option for you young INTJs looking for something endlessly rewarding. Freelance work means we can do everything how we want when we want. The technology aspect of production and the intellectual payload from studying theory is incredible. Your colleagues are almost unanimously intelligent, good-humoured people, but you can work totally solo too and don't have to work with petty personalities. IF any of you have lived through hard stuff, the reward of using your technical knowledge to express what can't be expressed through our introverted feeling is really psychologically therapeutic. And of course, after 90% of our time hustling with our nose to some very analytical work, the 10% when we are on stage completely losing our shit in a big show is like the perfect cherry on top for your extroverted sensing. Ask any INTJ who is a successful musician/composer/producer and you'll likely find that they are so deeply satisfied by their work. Added bonus is there's so much good money to make in the music industry. The story people tell themselves about musicians not making any money is bullshit and most people spouting this stuff have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. So don't forget about these creative fields too! Being an INTJ means we are insightful and feel in ways others aren't and we have some serious powers of observation. When harnessed in a creative field we produce really compelling music.
I am currently working on a system to help people become healthy and staying that way for the long run without purchasing items that have nothing to do with losing weight or supposedly becoming healthy
I am an INTJ in the process of becoming a pastor actually. Most of the INTJ career information I find online tends to not necessarily be accurate to how I think, but this video applies very accurately to the INTJ functions and my career choice. I naturally want to anticipate the problems I will have in the future working with others, planning, public speaking, having unique ideas, and being in meetings, This definitely is a video for any INTJ trying to do so. I've always thought strangely INTJs had a special knack for awareness of their physical environment (which may come off as Se) better than sensory types. I believe with Ni or the subconscious, we happen to notice subtle details that matter or are important to the big picture (think of Sherlock Holmes). Even if sensory types are attuned to their physical surroundings, what they notice has always seems more random or unnecessary, from what I perceive. Like, how do I know every time my girlfriend takes chicken patties from the box in the freezer? Or when I learn about a new plant I do not miss a single one in my field of vision even during a converstion.
I seem to have fallen into my career as a Quality Engineer, I was well known for breaking down problems, analysing causes, making sense of data and exploring new ways of working
Your eyes wonder around when taking... I think it is an INTJ trait (as I do it too). I bet you also did a lot of takes of your videos to get it to a standard that you would expect for yourself. :)
But what helps me relax my mind, and come up with ideas to solve complicated problems, is to paint or sand wood, some repetitive work, that let's my mind go while my hands are busy
Excellent content - and totally spot on! Also, we tend to hate experiential learning - experiencing something in a classroom and the reasons for what we are doing are not clear. I used to be a graphic designer, moved into a different field now, but I am always wanting to explore new ideas and be creative in everything I do. Your comments about designing innovative projects based on new ideas (ways of doing things - that works) that other people couldn't get their heads around, was exactly what I had experienced at work, and that hit my self confidence because I want to feel proud of what I develop. Regarding this issue I feel that I have problems getting the support that I need. I want to work collaboratively with people, but opposition or unwillingness of others to work together (for whatever reason) is an issue that I encounter. I also tended to end up agreeing with other people in a team to preserve harmony even when I am not happy with the idea. I think I need to be a bit stronger regarding this. I need to be less sensitive about what others feel about my agreements or disagreements.
I'm an INTJ working in Information Technology as a Systems Administrator and as a career has been very satisfying to problem solve server/system infrastructure problems in an organization. Also, earlier on in my career working in the public sector felt more fulfilling than working in the private sector as I am now.

I studied architecture and went into fashion design. I also write fiction. Because of my location, architecture was the most logical career to choose but the system made me understand that I won't be able to implement my ideas freely. Fashion has always been a passion and a good creative outlet. I can influence and improve people's style and I have big plans from being able to manage my own line.
I'm currently studying to get a degree in aerospace engineering. I'm hoping to get a job working for Google or even NASA or Boeing. I don't mind working in small groups, as long as I get to be in a more authoritive position, but not necessarily the center of attention. I think a big reason I don't mind groups as much is because of the way I grew up. I am the oldest brother out of four. Always having to be the leader and looking after my brothers because my parents worked constantly. We also had very little money and had to be especially creative when it came to toys/games or just entertaining ourselves in general. I personally loved the fact that I got to make things for them with items I'd have to find around the house or in the neighborhood or yard. We usually played things like "Space Explorers" (which I think is self explanatory). I'd read to them about space all of the time. I think all this really has pushed me to be doing what I am today. I can't wait to start my career and make myself and brothers proud
As an INTJ engineer I can echo the Te part. Throughout my career it has set me apart from the abundance of INTP specialists (most are way better than me at pure R&D). I still work in tech, but I have a more strategic role and loving it. I do get a lot of raised eyebrows due to novel ideas, but after several years of “I told you so” moments people listen more often. For entry level jobs go for a big company with lateral and vertical mobility options. If you are good you will move fast and get to try a lot quick. For students make sure your qualifications can get you a job in such a company. You can waste a lot of time and get demotivated if you work the wrong job/place for too long.
What's said on this video is spot on... Mostly in careers, intjs want impact and influence (a seat and voice at the table), with autonomy to think creatively. Conversely, rigid 9-5 process oriented mechanical jobs with not much freedom is what intjs DON'T want of careers.
Thanks for the video. It's scary accurate. I've solved zero emission energy production and ocean plasticity etc in a single product idea, I know it works (all the parts work separately already) , and I've been sitting on it for a year not getting anywhere with it. Because I don't have the funds or contacts of people who would understand the potential and make it happen. Even though it's simple to me, people who think differently don't necessarily see the simplicity and massive benefit of it, or when they do see the benefit and potential, they don't have the tools to acknowledge that it's not fantasy. Unseen, untested, unproven. If only I could put a label "Invented by INTJ, it's certainly not untested". I've looked at it from every perspective, tried to poke holes into it and make it not work as a concept. Also, when you're not good at asking for help, or you feel like you shouldn't have to, everyone should just immediately grasp it and adopt it....things get difficult. Thank you, these videos are helpful. Only recently I heard the definition of our personality type and seeing videos like yours makes me realize there's more people who struggle with the same question. Keep up the good work!

We are definitely not team leaders and for 2 reasons: 1) We tend to be non-confrontational. I don't like or seek to confront other people even when they've done something wrong. We tend to paper over the cracks and move on. I have managed people in my previous job and hated the responsability because I had to be someone that I am not, ie strict/upfront/abrasive when someone messed up. 2) We work better alone. (Micro)managing other people's work is def not something we enjoy. And the whole "we are a team", fake laugh and smile one must keep up all day when working in an office is just mental torture.

I work as VP and owner of a business. It is really interesting to be the limit of how your company grow. So I am constantly working on methods, processes, relationships, optimization, strategies. At the same time, I want everyone happy! :) By the way, your video is really good! Thanks!
I'm 17 and also intj and I worked as a waitress during the holidays and I came to the conclusion that I get really bored doing the same thing even if its hectic I'll still get bored. I realised that I hated being told what to do and going along with other people. And I kept on isolating myself from the front and others and tried figuring things and solving problems that I noticed in the restaurant. I have been told that I'd be a good manager but I agree with it but still I realized that attending people's needs and having people depend on me wasn't my forte .
I’m choosing to become a Healer, and transitioning from running an agro-industrial company. Undoubtedly, I could not have asked for more liberty and success in my previous job-however, it did not fit my moral standard. I really didn’t expect you to suggest design as a great career choice. But you’re 100% correct. I’ll get my degree in design on the next few months and I do believe it’s been the best path for me. I totally recommend it for an INTJ.
I'm an INTJ. I've had 8 jobs in the last 6 months. 1. QC in Rubber manufacturing. Quit because it wasn't benefitting in the long term. 2. Factory head in a wire manufacturing factory. Quit because I wasn't independent. 3. An engine repair/ maintenance garage. Quit because the boss was controlling. 4. A fabrication workshop my uncle owns. Quit because I don't like following orders. I don't like wasting time doing the stuff that won't enhance my skills. 5. A good sales and marketing firm for hydraulic bolting tools by CP. Quit because I wasn't allowed to make decisions of my own. And a lot of people wanted to tell me what should I do. 6. A group that focused on selling charities. I hated the idea of going door to door. I hate doing physical work. I'm naturally more inclined towards creating strategies rather than doing pointless activities. 7. A customer service office. I was fired for not obeying. 8. A customer service organisation. I'm at basic level rn. I'm willing to work here since I'm pretty much independent here.

The same for me. I love animation, at the beginning I only liked to draw, and when I discovered that I could “give life” to my ideas through a computer program, I decided to study 2D and 3D animation.Although I am somewhat self-taught to look for tricks for my animations.

I work in the graphics department so its a small team of three. I sometimes pick up side projects but I find them draining and burn me out fast and sometimes not worth the extra money, Could you share your experience as an intj artist/designer? Thanks!
@@jeffvalencia7656 Anyone willing to answer is more than a boon for me. ^.^ My relationship with art runs deep, but my experience with design in particular is... below par at best. I've gone to school for graphic design, but seem to lean more toward character design for some reason. I love to draw, but seem to have lost the ability to consistently put pencil to paper and just go. I have an abundance ideas, but once I have the tools set before me, my mind blanks. I wanted to see if I'm missing training, missing social networks, missing social necessities, or what... Everything in me tells me "I want to art!!!" but when the opportunities come, my brain says, "What, art? What the hell do you have to offer that's new? What are you going to do when you fail (and, you're GOING to fail)? Do you even have a backup plan?" Then I'm like, "Oh, makes sense..." and I just feel defeated. I know it doesn't make sense, I'm just reaching for hope at this point.
Spot on! INTJ here working as an Epidemiologist. I work with data/analysis, charts, graphs, maps, etc. Love it. And I'm always pointing out issues and all the things that need improvement to coworkers but I think I frustrate them lol. But it's to become better and efficient, nothing personal.
Currently I'm an insurance adjuster and it matches with a lot of what was said in this video for job fulfillment for me. I have done a lot jobs looking for the right one. When you speak of confidence from project completion and self direction, this is exactly what I like the most about my job. Bonus is I work alone, just me and the way I want things to be done, my plans and implementation. Great video!
I want a sort of work in which I can work towards achieving the big picture objectives, rationally and efficiently while not having to sway away too much from my core values and principles, all the while having nothing to do with the sensory reality.
Hello Amy, my name is Josué. Thanks for your video, I´ve had a similar experience. I am an INTJ. I´ve prepared a lot academically I am a physicist and an environmental engineer with a PhD from a major US University. Whenever I start working at a company, I usually move up the ranks easily. However, it is void of purpose. I´ve realized all my studies, preparation, money and everything is all poop if I am living without a purpose. I don´t think is a matter of personality… we try to fill the lack of purpose in our lives with achievement, money, sex, prestige, even family. I found my purpose in God, I found my purpose in the person of Jesus. That´s just my story, hope it helps.
I am turning 30 this June and I agree when I just realize what my purpose is. I have achieved many things in my life but are all in very diverse fields, and none seem to appeal to me despite the recognition it brought me. I even refuse to be associated with them. People tell me to pursue this and that because of those accolades, but they didn't know that the only reason I excelled at those is because I have done my research and planned everything very carefully. But at the end of the day, I retreat into my conch of a shell and wonder what I really want in life is solitude at the same time running a company that will help employ people and also become involved in philanthropic activities that will help enrich the poverty-stricken. I don't want recognition, I just want to help others........

This is very interesting. I spent 30 years in manufacturing, welding and management. Which generally I enjoyed very much. It gave me the ability to create and basically create my own world in my department I managed. I excelled at team building and problem solving. I was successful at every organization I was at. Where I ran into issues, and the opportunity to move into upper management, was a lack of ability to verbalize in a way others could understand well. In my mind it seems very simple to fix any issues that would arise. Attempting to explain to others what seemed to me to be the easiest and most logical solution was akin to climbing mount Everest. So eventually I grew tired of trying to explain my self, despite a clear record of success, not to mention all the politics that inevitably would occur. I didn't understand the reasons for this, or the huge waste of time it involves. So, I became a truck driver. Which on the surface might seem odd. However, I have plenty of time to myself. I usually have peace and quiet. I am generally my own boss, and am allowed to do things in a way that makes sense to me.
I’m INTJ, I majored in philosophy, but now I’m working as Quality management system manager, and it’s definitely the field of work I found myself in. I really think all INTJ qualities can be efficiently used in manufacturing industries :)

I am working in a IS/ES dominated industry, and it is very challenging for me as INTJ. Learned to adapt as you expressed correctly. Biggest difference in my workplace between my thinking and this of most others is that they want to see step-to-steps whereas I preferred jumping from beginning to the solution at once. Unfortunately my current industry is very risk-adverse and only innovative on the paper - not the best conditions for me currently. Focus on my own private creative interests to balance it out.

being an attractive intj is even harder. people think im this sweet and door mat girl just because im pretty, but when i show my true colors it makes people feel inferior. i just got into this mbti thing a few days ago and it just really resonates with me. even since i was a kid, i never felt like i was TRULY liked and fitted in with a crowd. but i feel like that is going to change now. when i was younger and more frustrated with how i thought and how everybody else did(didn´t? :P), people would say im aggressive and too blunt. and that was hard on me, especially being a girl who´s never met any girl like her. once in middle school, i met this dude who i now think was at least one of those analytical personalities, and i never felt i had to explain myself or soften myself. and in my 18 years of life, he is the only one i´ve ever met who i genuinely felt like i was on the same wavelength.
I’m 17 and I feel you. People say I’m too aggressive or blunt as well. People also consider me very critical. Being an attractive INTJ is hard for me because people assume that I’m stuck up when really I’m just a deep person who can’t relate to others. I never met a girl like me either, and I’m more attracted to intelligent guys with a tough personality because like you said, I don’t have to soften myself. Man it’s hard meeting people like you.
I feel you. INTJ female here, I guess I'am considered fairly attractive by the opposite sex. I have been a Tomboy by nature because I found typical female clothing lacks functionality, and growing up as a military kid made some impact too. And all they see is a tomboy who's naive and can be taken advantage of. But the moment they see my true rational & logical self who's way beyond years than them, that's the moment I become a rude and aggressive. I'am far from it & I'am very patient about the people I care about. Although I have a short-temper for incompetant people, that includes family & relatives. I've noticed female INTJs struggling with the labels like being 'insensitive' and such. I do think it's something to do with being a woman with a logical & rational personality as opposed to more nuturing personality. A little sexist I think. Then again, I don't really care about what people think or say because no matter what you do they'll talk anyways.
Interesting approach to convey the material or content in a understandable coherent manner : directly associating the theme ( the discussed topics ) with the cognitive functions which what constitutes the INTJ , embedding the essentials in order to ground the basics .

Medical Laboratory Technician who is INTJ Architect. My job is analytical and is a lot of problem solving when looking at a patient's lab results and seeing an issue, and then investigating on what is wrong and then communicating that issue to the physician. I am an integral part of the diagnosis and treatment of individuals who are severely ill. I work in a small hospital so mostly I am by myself or with another person who works with me. Personally, I hold everyone I work with to a higher standard than what the hospital holds them too.

I'm an INTJ. I'm still figuring out what I want but I'm constantly making plans and taking actions on those plans with job advisors so I can get closer to figuring out what I want to do and make sure it's something I would enjoy. I'm currently considering being a computer technician while having a side buisness as a Web designer but that's only a consideration rather than anything concrete. My strengths lie in my IT skills, my ability to plan, my maths skills and my creative skills.
Accurate about INTJs not having a lot of supporters for their ideas. If I told the people in my life half of the ideas and plans in my head, they'd think I'm crazy, but I know they'll work because I've spent years on them. I will prove that I can make these ideas into reality, and I'm sure no one will understand the process that happened in my head, they'll only see the end product. Best to just internalize and not open up ideas to people, because they won't understand.
Hey ! Im INTJ and i struggled so much in life trying to figure out was what up with me. I came accross indigo/star child, i did iq test wich where all above 140 i suspected adhd even rh-/+ blood but all finally made sense when i did the mbti test. I always felt different but i never felt wrong in fact i always felt my probleme was the other being wrong but i never fully accept that as a fact since it made me feel crazy, how can most people be so dumb ? I must be the dumbest one if i think everybody else doesnt make sens, it must be because I dont understand something.... Anyway, i finally see what's going on and im glad im not alone in this but the problem is we all stay in our corner we should have a fluo bracelet ( or a dark one ) just to recognize ourself...! Or even a intj bar with games and relaxing music all in a classy practical and modern way. I would TRAVEL THE WORLD AND GIVE EVERYTHING IN A EYEBLINK if i only had a chance to meet this BEAUTIFULL girl! YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFULL IT HURT!!! I really loooovvveee you! AW 08 I wouldn’t say that. I always felt like an indigo child, and I still do at 17 years old as an INTJ. The only thing I challenge is that indigo children are said to be creative and sensitive. My problem solving brain often dominates over my creativity, leaving me with hardly any, and I’m the least sensitive person I know. But, all the other criteria I can really resonate with.

Reddit has a terrific MBTI community with subreddits for each personality type. I have spent quite a lot of time on the INTJ subreddit and consider the other INTJ's that I have met there to be terrific people. They are smart, kind and as curious as I am. Good Luck.

We are Generals and political strategists and rather single-minded and ruthless. We are our own masters and operate on another level to other people. There is a harsh, blunt, acidic, severe, icy, serpentine/dragon-like, arrogant sternness and righteous self-belief in our very calculated and masterplan/long-view chess actions. We prize our intellectual superiority and conniving nature and do not consider ourselves either female or even mortal. I do not know her personality, but very, very often one can predict the F/T just by (observing) the masculinity/feminity of the individual. "Feminine" men are often F and "masculine" females more often T. She looks very feminine.. if one looks at statistics, the cost common male gay type is ENFJ, which is about 25% of the men of that type, while among ESFJ's the rate which are even male to begin with is really low. The ESFJ is a really feminine type, whether it's a male or female.
If you look at her early videos, she has INTJ mannerisms. I commend her for her very fast improvement in presentation skills. She is much more engaging for the other MBTI types. As an older INTJ, I can tell you that I am always looking for ways to improve myself. And one of the things I try to improve is to get my T-F to be more balanced. Or at least fake it if I can't be genuinely feel-y, but I don't like doing that. But sometimes it's needed in certain situations. To put it in a way you'll understand, it's called strategy. ;-)

How we, INTJ, deal with people that want small talk?. For once, I literally avoid any of those. The only ones that I never avoid are 2 persons who I can spend talking with them 6-7-8 hours or more in a bar because they are people whom I can have meaningful conversations with. What do you usually do?

Also, female INTJs and motherhood are somewhat like the relationship, or lack thereof, to religion; rare. Could you address navigating parenthood which requires continuous and intense emotional investment in light of the logically reasoning function of our brains. The latter is something I've observed often on FB female INTJ posts.
AmyMBTI i second the request for how to deal w things like small talk. I run a small business in the fitness industry and I’m currently alone. If I had an outgoing ESF type-person I’d be set but until then how do we embody that behavior without coming off too intense, fake, or reaching??
As an INTJ, do you find it difficult to film yourself ? I have plan extensively when I used to be a filmmaker and I found it difficult to be “natural” on shoot, because at that point I overthought the whole thing.
