This is a video describing, what I believe are some of the qualities, it takes to be a great bar athlete, again these are just some of the things, there are much more which you will see in PART 2 Look out for PART 2 to this video
great job, great form u rock bro !!! . I am bar athlete too but i started couple years ago. Im from Serbia and I have a lot of friends who are doing the same.you are our idol.we have a page on fb too if you would like to see how we do it :D one more time you rock greetings from Serbia :)
I've been training for about ten years since I was a teenager and, even if I'm absolutely not as good as you are, I absolutely share your point of view: training is not but a way of becoming good looking, but a real LIFE CHOICE who brings you to self respect and well being. All my respect.
This is very cool and really questions the basic philosophy on what strength is......i'd like to see a video of the building process to some of these moves though....i am physically fit, but it's not like i could drop down and do pushups from that handstand/crane position, or go swing up on a bar and do pressups with my body in that handstand position......
In England adults can not enter these children's play areas in parks, unless supervising a child. The other problem is that in recent years climbing equipment in the parks been replaced with types that this exercise can not be performed on. No horizontal bars.
@respeezy ...When you feel like 30 sec. is manageable, go for 60, and so on. Shoulder-wide grip, anything wider makes it harder on you. Remember not to sway or move at all. Breathe in deep and long, and when you breathe out, tighten your grip and your abs. Rest for 10-20 seconds in between sets. And even though you're doing sets, listen to your body first!!! If you've gotten to the point where you can't hold yourself for 10 sec., you've reached your limit for the day. Hope this helps.
i tried but it's very hard to do your exercises..can' you tell me please should i do for beginning? thank you... by the way... you are awesome... i will not quit until i reach your level.. peace
@respeezy Muscle endurance is ability to sustain activity over an extended period of time; Strength is ability to exert force regardless of time. We call it grip strength, but it's more a test of muscle endurance in your hands and forearms than all out strength. So for improving grip, focus on time instead of reps. Example: Dead hang for one 30-second set., do that 5x a day, 3x a week....
Crazy strength and ability! As a coach of athletes i would ask you to seriously consider coming into the Olympic ideals! man I could name a dozen sports that would take one look at that and welcome you! Gold medal would look good around your neck!
hey calisthenicskingz , I got a question about your diet, do you eat alot to bulk up, and any advice to pack on mucle, im 18, 5'8" 150lbs goal is 180 but lean and muscular like your self, i already do bodyweight excercise mostly assisted one legged squats, negative hspu against wall, L-pullups, and L-sits any advice and tips would be truly appreciated
@pacman211 he does some on his dvd's. Look up pistol squats, shrimp squats, and glute ham raises. Those along with sprints will hit your legs pretty well.
Ugh, I can't believe that people are so ignorant to think that this athletic art form comes from steroids. Any way, I think ur awesome and I can tell you have great genetics. I'm flat u keep ur self in shape because obesity in America is a serious issue
@respeezy Oh, one more thing. Gripping a wider surface also is a good advanced challenge, i.e. a fat bar or wrapping a towel around a regular bar. If you ever feel like working with weights, the farmer's walk is perfect for it. Again focus on time rather than reps, walk around for about 50-60 sec with heavy weights in your hands. Alright, I'm done, later.
That is a muscle up. Lots of tutorials around on doing that. Try Russian dips and explosive pullups to get there. Good luck and remember to have fun with it!
Question for you. I don't have much time to eat correctly so I use a supplement from a company called ViSalus. It's a very good supplement that has helped me lose weight. My question is, do you think I can still do this by using that supplement and eating ok during the rest of the day? I've stopped eating candy, drinking cook, and eating unhealthy foods like donuts. Will that be enough along with my supplement to get strong at my age of 32? I've also been using bands but want to learn bar.
Do a lot of reps, use strict form, do a prober pull-up... meaning NO kipping. Eat a lot. General exercises, my guess is you already know them, push-ups (different variations) - but mainly, get yourself a goal... what exercise do you want to master? Muscle-up? Slow-muscle-up? Handstand? Human flag? Good luck bro.
You don't use shakes at all? How many calories a day do you eat and how many grams of protein would you say you consume? You have the body of a bodybuilder basically, so i'm curious how much you consume :)
