Love the sound of the baritone! I'd like to hear the difference between the 3 ukulele sizes that are all tuned to GCEA. All I have is two concerts but I'd love to explore other sizes
What a beautiful lesson. The four cords of my best sounding song - STAND BY ME. I’ve been playing since 2014. Not that good and now 78. Never gave the baritone much thought. But your short video on this subject is EXCELLENT. I might just get one before I kick the bucket. Thank you. You are such a very sweet soul.
I have a couple old family guitars, this video makes me think I should pick them up again. I tried learning the guitar several times and gave up. The Uke really made a difference in my ability or motivation to learn a string instrument.
I play both Ukulele and guitar, they sound amazing. My son plays both too and when they are played together they sound amazing. I think I still need a baritone though just because.... lol Good luck 👍
@@mariajukejax9649 it will be different but practice is key. You would pick it up quicker than someone who hasn't learnt either. I would go for it. The chords are very different and I can get confused sometimes but practice is literally the key. Give it a go, you'll love it 🙃

Thank you young lady ! I play guitar . I am going to learn the ukulele . 30 years ago I was a 2nd tenor . Now I consider myself and was told by music teacher I am a lyric baritone even if I can go up to high C non falsetto . I can do Bruddah Iz’s stuff . I will do the tenor uke .Baritone just doesn’t sound like a regular ukulele to me . Again thanks !
I decided on putting cuatro strings on my baritone ukulele and tune it as a Venezuelan cuatro. A D F♯ B, with the B string tuned to a major second interval from the A string (instead of the more "guitar-like" perfect fourth from the F♯). Now it sounds very high. Just the perfect sound. I also have another baritone tuned as a baritone as well. Love both sounds.
I love baritone guitars, and am pondering building a 7 string multi scale instrument. I’m wondering with the short neck have you ever seen or played a multi scale baritone ukulele?
I like both! I prefer the ‘normal’ one tho, it feels more like a ukulele. You know, small and a high pitched sound. And the baritone one reminds me of the guitar. But i like en both!
Loving the shorts Miss B.! I bought 2 used Baritones. I strung them both GCEA. One low G, one high G. I still get that full sound, but not ready to learn new chords just yet. That is till I saw that Ohana you just presented. It looks like my daughter's Ovation guitar. I'm thinking of investing in that one and learning DGBE. :)
Chords on a baritone in DGBE are exactly the same as on any other uke in GCEA. Only the names are different. Well, to be more precise: even the names are the same - they just fit to different chords now.
I’m looking for an instrument to sing with and that’s easy to learn. I’m not too familiar with the ukulele; but would you say the Baritone Ukulele is more compatible with an alto singing voice? Wrong hat! Still cute. The bari chord shapes are similar to a guitar, but when played on a uke are a fifth off in a different key.. Add 5 to guitar chord to get the equivalent uke chord. For instance, a C chord on guitar is fingered as a G guitar chord shape on uke. CDEFG(5). Guitar G chord equals D guitar shape on uke GABCD(5), and so forth. Hard to explain but easy to visualize and transpose when switching between instruments. Practice is your friend....really 😃!
