Hey Kyle your videos have been very informative and reassured me I could put my truck on the weight loss program 6 months ago I have a 2017 L5P I let the truck calibrate for over 1000 miles in the 4 th tune changed to the 5th tune drive it daily rolling into the throttle as we know they’re not race cars …. I monitor the truck with the I-dash no problems anymore and is fine in the 5th tune as long as you drive respectable great videos 🇺🇸💪🏼🦅
I’d point out the exhaust system still pressurizes the EGR all the way through the crossover pipe. So even if the EGR valve does maintain its seal, there are more sources of potential boost leak (pre-turbo exhaust leak) if you leave it intact. On a newer Ram that required the ECM swap, I saw a leak in a crossover pipe connection after reassembly. The owner hadn’t planned to do the EGR delete right away, but plans changed quickly, so he was glad he had the kit for it ahead of time.
1994 3500 Cummins 4x4 Regular Cab Manual with a 22 inch frame extension for the Tunnel box for my tools Twin line Challenger Wrecker Body and a Stinger underneath. The only problem was the throttle cable with the articulating ball which wore out. Otherwise she wasn’t the quickest truck back then but she rode like a Town Car and with 6 Michelins she went anywhere in the snow!! That’s a Truck!!!
Emissions systems on diesels are horrible. Especially in cold climates. I bought a brand new duramax within 5000km of driving. It had to be back to the dealer 5 times for emissions related problems! First was mass amounts of soot clogging a map sensor. Next it wouldn't regen it. It just said to keep driving regening but never finished. The dealer found the dpf was 300% full, and they had no clue why. Next, it got down to -30'C for the entire month of February. The def tank froze and cracked. Later that month, the def injector froze and cracked. Next, the dpf wouldn't regen again. It was such a nice truck, but I just couldn't justify keeping it with all the constant issues. I sold it and got a 4th gen deleted cummins now and loving it.
Yes there is, it is expensive though. The 2022+ rams require an ecm swap which raises the cost significantly. Totally worth it though. Here’s the link for that specific kit shrsl.com/4ke04
ADEQ failed my "deleted" truck and reported me to AZDOT, who threatened to cancel my registration! No problem, just used a friend's address to register the truck in Northern AZ, where emissions is not required...
Great video I can forward to the the people I’ve deleted their trucks due to dealership Qouting them 10k plus to get their trucks back on the road even after the trucks are pushing 200k miles
Any idea if they’re gonna have a full delete for 3.0 Duramax anytime? Thinking about keeping the lb7 zf6 dually for hauling, buying 1500 for play and commuter.
Question. Deleted for sometime now on my 6.7 Powerstroke. Amazing truck, but man….. it’s one stinky pig. Considering adding a passive Magnaflow diesel catalytic to get rid of some of the stink. Advice?
Where do you recommend getting tune files from? The price of them has gone through the roof! To the point I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong business!
Being EFI live and Minimaxx are both $899 for my truck which do you prefer or feel are the better tunes on an 08 6.7L Cummins? Currently I am running a delete tune from minimaxx but no tuner. Base Zero hp I think. Bought it this way with 5" exhaust, installed head studs (using your video) and cold air KnN are the only upgrades.
Yes PPEI can tune them now. It’s a separate module then the ECM, so you can just tune the transmission at any time and it won’t effect your engine tune.
@@nahbro3240 my guy!! you can't in Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. You can resell it, but can't get a safety. Commercial purposes you can't.
I deleted a 16 LML and blew my transmission going up a hill. I am worried about doing the same to my 17 350. Was my issue a one-off, or is that just something that happens?
At the end of this video I touch on how you should drive a diesel truck. If you drive it properly and don’t abuse it there’s no reason why you should never have transmission issues like that.
I was just checking out their site and saw a liquid heat generator. Constantly at least -30 in Alberta for like half the year. Have you tried one of these units? Would it be worth getting?
I actually have one in my shop for a 5th gen Cummins. I need a truck to install it on. Apparently they work amazing, what’s your truck up in a couple minutes at an idle.
To do the tune. do you need to take it to a dyno and have it done or is it plug and play? never owned a diesel but looking for a 5th gen cummins to start
@darkirondiesel So is it better to buy one and instantly delete it and not worry about warranty? or keep the warrantys more asking if its more dependable
Not as expensive as the 2022+ rams! The L5P kits have actually came down in price lots over the past couple years. Before you had to swap the ecm, now you don’t. But the tuner and ecm unlock kit are costly which is why it’s still a few thousand.
@urgentcaretruckrepair9410 which still worries me with all these diesel runner rolling coal and showing it off to everyone plus our political system it is just making It a little cautious
